this is not a real kit this a kit for people who are unsatisfied with their original plastic crap thing. any electric kit is not real drums, but its made to simulate real drums. im NOT saying this is a stupid idea, im saying that its not something i would do. those games were made intentionally made for the purpose for fun and horseplay. but what it looks like people arent satisfied with what they have and they have to get an FC, whatever that means. they get this just so they can get higher pts

This is the best drum kit and cheeper too. I can tell you that most drum kit hat are good are $500-$100, and to add more cymbals is $100s of dollars plus another bass is $100 so this is cheeper. I want this so bad.

i love my ion just finished jamming on it. the only downer is that the cymbals are too loud, upgrade to the pintech cymbals!

There's nothing like a solid steel pedal if you're going to do some serious Rock Band.

That's always an option... but may I add four little considerations?

1. A REAL drum kit equivilant will easily run you $800-$1k.

2. This is actually a REAL drum kit... you can add a module that will allow you to play it stand-alone.

3. The REAL drum kit wouldn't help you all that much if you enjoy playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero.

4. Drums on Rock Band or GH are actually very good training for drummers. We've got two of them in our lab who are drooling over this thing.

i have this drum kit and i use it for rock band 2. It's an awesome kit, but the cymbals need some tweaking since they are not as sensative as the pads out of the box.

Thanks for the comment. That's very valuable information... what do you mean by tweaking? Do you mean that they need to tweak it at the manufacturer, or is there something that the user can do to make them more sensitive?

What i mean by tweaking is that the cymbals are not as sensative as the pads, it takes a considerable amount of force in each hit to get the cymbal to read your hit. It's really annoying if you wanna use a cymbal as a hi-hat. From my understanding it's not the cymbals that are bad, but the drum brain. You can adjust the sensitivity one way by adjusting the screws. One other interesting tidbit is that you can use the GHWT cymbals on the ion kit.

no but it has merit as an electronic drum set, as you mentioned, which is what I would be using it as.

to use it as a drum kit, you need a drum brain which you can get for 359 off drum rocker's website.
