  • curse of the philippine till now of republic

  • Those Spanish bastards are IDIOTS, TRAITORS and SCUMS! IDIOTS because they didn't accept Rajah Humabon and his men's offer (their native allies) of aiding them in their fight with Lapu-lapu. TRAITORS and SCUMS because while Humabon and his men were giving medical aids to Magellan's men in the ships, those Spaniards who remained in the village began raping the women and children of Humabon's tribe. Those are the types of conquistadores sent by Spain. Outcasts, Low-class, rapists and convicts!!

  • MAgellan didn't know that Filipino's knows "KALI"

    the art of the blade

guns and cannons VS knife and sticks

  • Meh I hate Magellan for invading the philipines

  • @thedecagon Qe Lastima

    thats true Indio

  • is lapu lapu who killed magellan famous in portugal?

  • @jquestor101 Maybe, but more in Spain due to Spanish colonization.

  • @jquestor101 - If you read Pigafetta's account it was not Lapu-Lapu that personally that slain Magellan. It was his men. Our so called Battle of Mactan was not necessarily a battle as it was an ambush. Magellan landed there, likely to have negotiation or a treaty with the chieftain. He brought only 60 men and around 40(?) got off board. Immediately the natives charged at them and particularly towards Magellan who they could distinguish as the foreigners' chief by his manner of dressing.

  • @emmthreejonny True, it was an ambush, but it was also a retaliation in that Magellan was pressing for any neighbors to the land he'd already visited and converted to convert as well. Lapu-Lapu refused, and so Magellan and his men went to Mactan in order to 'convince' and convert them. Treaty or no, Magellan was battle ready so Lapu-Lapu was as well.

  • It's not known with certainty that Enrique went completely around the globe.

  • The 1st person who circumnavigate the globe is Enrique of Malacca.

  • @disgruntledsmoker Magellan (Fernão de Magalhães) too. He was in Malacca, Sumatra(Indonesian Archipelago) twice (1509 and 1511, 1512 AD).

He became "subject" or better - he served Carlos V ( in some cases, the people receave charts of "naturality" in order to had the same rights as naturals(as in some of Columbus`s brothers). The navigator does not renounced to natural origin (or nationality) properly at those times. The natural origin and Portuguese nationality follow Magalhães.

  • Was not only Magalhães, more 36 Oficials, Pilots, Navigatores and Cosmographers were with him(under Magellan leaderhip) to serve Carlos V on this voyage (and passed from Portugal). Rui Faleiro, Barbosa, Carvalho, João Serrão (Serrão will made even voyages to North America later, today USA at the service of Spain) and others on this voyage.

  • ...(João Serrão was another navigator) I mean Estevão Gomes (Estevam Gomes or Esteban Gomez in Spanish) to North America (USA).

  • Ferninand Magellan was born in the country i was born (Portugal) and his real name is Fernão de Magalhães;)

  • where is hernan cortes?

  • Vasco da Gama and Prince Henry the navigator are next in the series.

  • I apologize for commenting again and for my English (for your moderation) Sorry. We hope to see something published about Columbus and other Navigators, including British and French, or Dutch, other Spanish and Portuguese explorers etc if you wish.
