I played Halo 3 before I'd read any reviews, or anything like that. I didn't even know it was an xbox exclusive. And I loved it so mcuh, the next day I bought an xbox - my first console - and my own copy of Halo 3. Since then I've become something or a nerd, and have played pretty much every other popular game, but nothing comes close to Halo for me.

How does that explain that Halo sold MORE? Also note that I only included Halo 3, but multiple titles from most the PS3 series used. Also, the only figures avaiblable for Halo 3 are for sales in the first 2 months (when it's been out for more than 3 years now).

Either way, PS3 games still sell perfectly fine, even theyre not up in the 10 millions. UC2 is about to break 5 million. Thats still good.

Rubbish. Halo 3 was released at the end of September 2007, and had sold 8.1 million copies by the start of January 3rd 2008. That's 8 million in the first 3 months, and no matter your opinion of the game, you can't deny Halo 3 was hugely popular for several years, staying in the top 3 of the XBL charts and selling well.

The top 2 shooter games are Halo and, though it pains me to say it, CoD. Im not saying all other shooters are crap, but nothing else comes close. Both are on the 360 but only one is on the PS3. Thereby id say 360>PS3. Plus Reach is gonna be big for the 360.
nothing comes close to those games in numbers because those games cater to a broader audience. Mainly elementary school to high school kids. MOST games these days are developed for accessibility, and not so much for challenge or gameplay anymore.
A game like Halo 3 and MW2 are perfect examples of that.

@SenorFez03 . I'll name a few games that are more deep and complex (especially for its time) compared to games these days.
Deus Ex 1, System Shock 2, Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 (PC version), Fallout 1 and 2 (NOT 3), Planescape Torment, Outcast, Hidden and Dangerous, Freespace, Another World, Commandos, Black and White, Ground Control, 11th hour, Total War series, etc
And as for elitism FPS games, there are 3 that stand out that truly have skill: Quake 3/Live 1vs1 or clan arena, CS, and UT2k4
Oh and btw, games like Mario 3, and Contra are already much more difficult games compared to Gears of War or Halo. Those games dont hold your hand with regenerating health, and shit like that. Point is..most games these days are dumbed down, and is going in the wrong direction. Games were meant to be challenging, rewarding, and fun at the same time.. But now most games these days are about good presentation, and graphics, with very basic and simple gameplay elements.
Games develop in the direction people want them to. People like stuff such as regenerating health, it makes the game more fun. Which is what people want, they don't want some super-hard "pro" game that takes 5 years to finish.
Oh, and do you know what Mythic is in Halo 3? if you did, you would not be calling that game easy.

@imnotdillon I am no fanboy sir, I own both consoles and a matter of fact is the PS3 hardware is more reliable than xbox 360. And no xbox 360 isn't a perfectly good console at all, like I said the hardware isn't as reliable. The reasons were thought to be known that Microsoft rushed the consoles out in Nov 2005 but then even the Elites break down, so what does that tell you. Let me remind you that M$ is a software company and Sony is a hardware company. Both consoles have their pros and cons.

@AnnoyingingeXD Reistance 1 & 2 = 5 mil, UC 1 & 2 = 8 mil, God of war 3 = 4 mil. Thats 17 million copies. Halo 3 has sold about 11 million. Check your math again buddy. Either way, who gives a fuck. Sales dont make the game, the ammount of time and effort put into the game by the developer does. Halo 3 was decent, but it was crappy in both visuals and gameplay. The only thing that saved it was forge, and even that was very bland. LBP kicks Forge's ass anyday. Food for thought.

How do you know thats false? Did you monitor every unit sold? Seems like you're the idiot. Besides, if you claim that stat is wrong. Rubbish. Halo 3 was released at the end of September 2007, and had sold 8.1 million copies by the start of January 3rd 2008. That's 8 million in the first 3 months, and no matter your opinion of the game, you can't deny Halo 3 was hugely popular for several years, staying in the top 3 of the XBL charts and selling well.

By your logic of sales making the game, then Mario Kart Wii is the fuckin god of video games. I honestly dont care. I think Halo 3 was shit, and believe me, alot of people would agree. But really, opinion is irrelevant. I think Uncharted, Resistance, God of War and Killzone are all crap - they're boring, overrated, only caring about graphics, and just feel small and pathetic in scope when you compare them to Halo. @AnnoyingingeXD uncharted 2 got game of the year btw the only exclusive games the xbox has are kinect and shooters and the ps3 has all types of awesome games like little big planet 1 and 2, uncharted 1 and 2 soon 3, resistance 1,2 and soon 3, killzone 2 and 3, god of war 3, valkyria chronicles, alot more than that plus theres alot more awesome games coming out for the ps3, the only good game coming out for the xbox is halo 4 and gay kinect crap.

The top 2 shooter games are Halo and, though it pains me to say it, CoD. Im not saying all other shooters are crap, but nothing else comes close. Both are on the 360 but only one is on the PS3. Thereby id say 360>PS3. Plus Reach is gonna be big for the 360.

nothing comes close to those games in numbers because those games cater to a broader audience. Mainly elementary school to high school kids. MOST games these days are developed for accessibility, and not so much for challenge or gameplay anymore.
A game like Halo 3 and MW2 are perfect examples of that.
anyway. in your logic of what system is better. There was two exclusives on the ps3 considered game of the year in 09, and 1 for 360 (which was a multiplatform)..so if anything.. PS3>360

Deus Ex 1, System Shock 2, Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 (PC version), Fallout 1 and 2 (NOT 3), Planescape Torment, Outcast, Hidden and Dangerous, Freespace, Another World, Commandos, Black and White, Ground Control, 11th hour, Total War series, etc
And as for elitism FPS games, there are 3 that stand out that truly have skill: Quake 3/Live 1vs1 or clan arena, CS, and UT2k4

Point is..most games these days are dumbed down, and is going in the wrong direction. Games were meant to be challenging, rewarding, and fun at the same time.. But now most games these days are about good presentation, and graphics, with very basic and simple gameplay elements.

One game made me go X box over PS3, Mass Effect. If ME was a multi-console platform I'd have gone PS3.
I have gone through three xboxs in 18 months, RROD and a six week turn around with multiple cds ripped up by the first one. My brothers PS3? No failures in the same amount of time. X box 360 3 core processor, PS3 8! The ps2 had a 3 core to x box's 1 core.
Th dashboard with the avatars forced on us sucks. The PS3's dashboard is much more user friendly.

And no xbox 360 isn't a perfectly good console at all, like I said the hardware isn't as reliable. The reasons were thought to be known that Microsoft rushed the consoles out in Nov 2005 but then even the Elites break down, so what does that tell you. Let me remind you that M$ is a software company and Sony is a hardware company. Both consoles have their pros and cons.
