  • hey could any1 help me with the fuji finepix s1900??? what r the disadvantages and advantages, would u reccomend it, can i do panoramic shots and motion blur and macro and time exposre shots>? (i dont know much about cameras thats y im asking so many questions) or should i save up abit more and get the canon 1000d? and in order to do various shots such a panoramic, macro, motion blur, time exposure.. do i need a diiferent lense for each? could i take HDR photos with it?

  • you sound like steve-o lol

  • okay only the first step is what i get turn on the camera???

  • menus are washed out, you should have used HDR to make this vid - lol

  • erm...this is shit

  • a question... in Nikon d60 is the same thing??

  • Turning your ISO down can also help reduce noise :).

  • 0:51 two point hoe! lol!!!

  • @portie147 hahahahaha

  • show picture afterward as example what look like by any chance? its good

  • Where es the resulting image?

  • Make sure your dial is set to P (Program) setting, if you are on auto it will show less options. unfortunately the D50 never had a firmware update and probably never will, so that can't be the issue.

  • i do not have that on my D50 do i need to give the slr a update

  • i do not have that on my D50 do i need to give the slr a update

  • I have a Nikon D50 but for some reason under my pen option on the main menu the number only goes to 6. how can i make so i have more options

  • d60 too?

  • @cpfsk8er92 no, d60 is an update of the d40 a different series from the d50-d70

  • There is something called ...Google :P

It's a very well known (and popular) technique in photography nowadays

Yes, you can use Photoshop, but there are easy programs especially made for processing HDR images

I like Photomatix Pro (3.2) and have a tutorial on my channel (that even uses a single image for those photo's you've already taken and want to turn into HDR :-)

    Enjoy!

  • @nulight22

HDR gives you like better details on photos and yes you can use photoshop

  • great!

    thanx for tutorial!!!

  • This is great! Thanks for the tutorial!

  • Could of done with a bit more detail there.

  • I used the multiple exposure feature in my D80. I set it to 3. I obtained focus on my subject. I then set the camera to Manual mode. I then adjusted my EVs to -2, 0 and +2. Then set for proper exposure by adjusting the shutter speed for each EV step. Set the aperture once. Aperture must not be changed. Using an ir remote or cable trigger would be a good idea as well. HDRs come out a lot more realistic, Better than the vomit HDRs that are created by popular programs on the market.

  • hi

all i have 2 do is to take 3 shots?

  • One with a low exposure one with a medium exposure and lastly one with a high exposure.

  • first of all spin indicator to M set baperture (diaphragm) to apropriate value, set exposure and set white balance to PRE cause if u pick AUTO it may change every shot. imho most significant - when u capture focus switch to manual so camera wont try tu lock it by its own every shot. buying ir remote would be a good idea so you wont blur the pictures by clicking the trigger

  • joeinparis - go to SETUP - choose CSM/SetUp Menu - change the setting from Simple to Detailed - that should bring up all the options

  • You must shoot in RAW. JPEG doesn't contain enough information

  • I have a question.

On a bright day,how many do we set the aperture?

  • Mm I don't really like that technique. Yes, it's definitely the easiest and error-free way of taking HDR photos but I personally like to have 9 or so for my HDR rendering. The more photos you have, the better quality image you can create. My method is simply changing the EV manually usually starting from -3.0 and working up to +3.0 with smaller intervals.

P.S. what is all this shit about his accent? Grow up.

  • Why use Program mode?

That will cause the Fstop/Shutter speed to be different each time because the light will change no matter what.

You're supposed to shoot in Manual -.-

  • Its native Japanese pronunciation is more close to (Knee-cone). Also, Canon is pronounced more like (Kah-None) rather than (Cannon) I believe in Japanese. Does it matter? Dont think so. It Shouldnt matter in this video either. We all know what hes talking about.

  • Wow so thats how its done.. thanks!

  • Although I found out how to do this using a web page, I wish I'd seen this. It's very helpful. I love HDR. Taking it and looking at others' work.

  • that's how you say nikon you douches

    go watch the commercials.

  • american*

  • American **

  • NIGH KON?

    lol ameircan accents

  • Your the Yanks that have the accent.

  • Yet we americans have more influence than anyone else.

  • In What?

  • thanks mate, been looking for info on this.

  • I'm glad he said to turn on the camera,

because it would have never worked. lol

  • very useful, thanks

  • You can't pronounce Nikon properly!

  • I have a D50 too and my camera can go up to 6 just!!

    heeeeeelp..

  • Up to 6 just what? You only have 6 settings in the custom menu? Make sure you're not in Auto Mode or in any of the scene modes.

Program mode is the best for HDR.

  • can i do this using a nikon d40 ?

  • You can do this with absolutely any Digital SLR.

  • you also can make HDRs from 1 raw file, by saving tiffs with different exposures. That's the best way when making an HDR in which there is a moving subject (water, for example). cheers!

  • Can you do that with a Nikon D40? And can you use manual mode?

  • no..

you have to take images using something like Nikon Camera Control Pro..

get your settings right..and then set the timelapse option in the program to take an image with your choice settings every so many seconds or minutes or hours..then at the end combine using something like Quicktime Pro (for ease of use) to combine all the images as a sequence into a video file.

  • Great tutorial, do you have any tips for HDR software?

  • photomatix 3..there are other ways like using CS3 , but it depends on your expected output.

Photomatix is really all i use so far.

  • okay okay nevermind sorry.

  • wait, what never mind, how did you fix that??

  • What??? I have a D50 as well and I thought this video would work perfect for me, but I go to the pen and my list only goes 1 through 6. I don't have a 12 or even a 7. What's wrong here???

  • No; and I found the answer to my question. This tutorial is really helpful now. Thanks.

  • is that james woods

  • Haha, sure does sound like him when i think about it!

  • What is HDR and when would you use it?

  • how do you do this useing a d40 ?

or do i just change the aparature by 1 , both ways

  • Don't change the aperture, just the exposure

  • That's possible using a laptop and Nikon Camera Control Pro.

  • you don't have to have a camera that supports auto bracketing. Bracket manually. Just choose the aperture you want, get the correct exposure and then change your shutter speed. It won't be as accurate as bracketing, but it works just the same

  • i have a d50 but my listing under pen is only up to 6....

  • Same, man. But look back at the comments. "I forgot to mention - in case you don't see #12: You need to go to Menu, CSM/Setup Menu, and set it to detailed (not simple)" he said.

  • thank you very much

  • haha! This is the easy part!

  • I think it's same with D 80 all right? I'll try tomorrow thank you :).

  • Unfortunatley can not be done with the D40/D40x, as this SLR does not support bracketing :(

  • yeh too bad :D

i has teh d40x and its not the same result as using a more pro dslr

  • quote:

i has teh d40x and its not the same result as using a more pro dslr

    reply:

there is NOTHING about the camera that is making your images not work.

its your subject, and choice of exposure amounts based off your subjects dynamic range. and of course, your settings..

  • (on my girlfriends acct..lol)

  • it can be done on any camera that has the P,S,A settings. your steps will just be different. you can also use full manual and shoot more exposures to get a better range.

  • can it be done on a d40x?

  • hey...nice video. I'll check your other vids too

  • I forgot to mention - in case you don't see #12: You need to go to Menu, CSM/Setup Menu, and set it to detailed (not simple)
