This seems to be one of the more sharper performances from the 1980 tour of Europe.

I really love the Frankfurt show too - maybe even more than Zurich. Like most 80 shows, it has ups and downs. Since I've Been Lovin' You isn't up to par, and White Summer Black Mountainside is a shadow of its former glory. But the opening rock numbers are wicked, and Achilles Last Stand is considered by a lot of hardcore fans to be the best version ever- which is quite a feat for a band supposedly in decline. Hope you don't mind me goin' on I'm just a total fanatic! I'm sure you are too...

Fans should try to get a hold of the whole show on bootleg. It's a really joyous and brilliant show (in spite of the...uh..."detour" during Kashmir). Regardless of the damage at that point, the spirit was still there on the 1980 tour, especially Zurich and Frankfurt. They were still a vital band and could have worked it out. Check my channel for some good raw blues, by the way.
