If a religious leader truly believes in his religion and what it preaches, that is, peace and goodness for his people, he would not embroil them in yet another political struggle. Afterall common people suffer the most in such struggles. There was peace in Tibet before March 15, and development was evident everywhere. I like CCP's way of doing things. They abolished slavery without consent from Tibetan lords and lamas. Slaves are hired by gov to build roads, but money was taken by their masters. Army was furious, and I guess some Tibetan lords were killed for that reason... Army in Tibet was making sure slaves can sell their stuff in the market without being rejected.
From another view, CCP destroyed those high class Tibetans' life style or "good times." Obviously they want it back.

First, Tibet has been a part of China ever since it was merged into that country in 1239, when the Mongols began creating the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).
This was before Marco Polo reached China from Europe and more than two centuries before Columbus sailed to the New World.
True, China's hold on this area sometimes appeared somewhat loose, but neither the Chinese nor many Tibetans have ever denied that Tibet has been a part of China from the Yuan Dynasty to this very day.

If a religious leader truly believes in his religion and what it preaches, that is, peace and goodness for his people, he would not embroil them in yet another political struggle. Afterall common people suffer the most in such struggles. There was peace in Tibet before March 15, and development was evident everywhere. If he truly believes in compassion, he should let his people enjoy progress and peace, unless he has some hidden political agenda that only he and his feudalistic regime know best.

o ya. in his book, he says there were about 1 mil ppl in tibet 1951, 1.274 mil ppl in 1953. later on, he claimed he had 6000 nun and monk doing teaching, total 600k monks and nuns existed in 1951. answer me this. monks and nuns cant reproduce, so there r 400k ppl left, including old, man, woman, and children. how they heck he manage raise about 300k in population with only over 100k can give birth in 2 years. not mention the life spans is 35.

Think: would someone who's supposed to be preaching all these be embroiled in political struggles that lead to the bloodshed for many? And for what cause? To put food in people's stomach? To give them a better living? Not really, because pre 1950 Tibet was a disaster. So could it be for pure personal political and material gains? A British documentary team did a prog which can be seen on You Tube. It is called- Dispatches Undercover in Tibet. Let me remind you that DLLM himself was a Shugden practioner, but he realized it was wrong. In his public teachings & speeches he told he was wrong to practice shugden from his experiences. He never banned or ordered others stop practicing, thus giving religious freedom.
Dalai lama returning to power is not an issue. Tibetans want independence and return to their motherland. Tibet is democratic nation, they have prime minister in exile named Samdhong Rinpoche, highly educated person.

1. DLLM 14th didn't practise Shugden, although formal DLLM's did, DLLM 14th only appraised and cooperated Shugden, not practised. Shugden is Red Branch, and DLLM follows Yellow branch, which are different.
2. We know what tibetan exile government is, it is famous for its corrupcy, >50% of the international aid were taken by them as private pocession.

Additionally, former slaves and other Tibetan tribes remembered well the Yellow sect, while under the control of the present 14th Dalai Lama, using violent means to force other sects to accept the Yellow sect.
Dalai Lama knows his sphere of influence is outside of Tibet and with the Yellow sect in Tibet and other than that, he has little goodwill amongst the vast majority of Tibetan people.

Now there is the presumption that Dalai Lama represents all Tibetans. Well, guess what, he represents only the yellow sect as there are five sects of Tibetan Buddhism -- Yellow, Red, Black, Flower,and White. In fact, other sects don't want Dalai Lama to return. What Dalai Lama is doing is to use Western influences to force his way back to Tibet against the interests and wishes of all other sects.
