this thing freaking rocks!!! i hate to be a critic over such an amazing guitar. but i do think that gold hardware would look more kick ass :/ still its cool as hell
Kinda ruined the whole purpose of a reissue cause they didnt have that color and those inlays it's a fuckin ugly ass guitar u ruined the beauty of a real 59 or a reissue for that matter
I nearly puked in the back of my mouth, even associating it with a 1959 LP standard is a crime. Yes its a 1 of 1 but it doesnt mean its not the most fugly thing ive ever seen and i think i might have a heart attack if i even ask the price you paid for it. Having myself played a actual 1959 burst this.... is a disgrace
Damn, '59 specs and it looks like a fucking coffin! That guitar was destroyed with that fugly colour! Those inlays!!! ahhhhhh!! that thing is a total train wreck!
I like this guitar, the abalone inlays, rare wood fretboard and blue quilted top and headstock veneer seem to be the only distinguishing features from a normal 59 reissue; which I don't think really justify the price.
59s have a certain playability and tone and there's no reason u can't have that. it doesn't need to look vintage to be made to vintage specs.
I do think it looks beautiful, nothing wrong with blue, it's personalised.
What a shame ! A 59 Les Paul RI must look like a 59 Les Paul. I suppose you have shit tastes but as I'm not a native English speaker I won't tell more to win time. I imagine you as a proud worker with fat fingers who's unable to play good your expensive guitar.
does any one know where i can find the lp custom Gibson had out a couple years ago that was like a relic guitar in aged white. it had special circuitry i think called Memphis tone that lets u cut down the volume without hurting the tone and sustain. i cant find it or remember exactly what it was called.
Yer dreaming!!!!............what 59 Paul was ever BLUE!!.......ICK!!!!...25,000........you got hosed !!!!!!......what an ugly guitar.....and I love Pauls.....but oh man......contrary to the 15 year olds that posted earlier and dont know better.....this thing is just all wrong..
Ive seen Tokais with better quilts than that.. 5A 6A 4A etc is just a excuse to add a few $ to the price. And to answer your question when do you see a Blue 59 ? Was one on ebay not too long ago with a matching blue headstock.
WOW That's So Beautiful! I can't even afford a Les Paul Traditional! The Blue Finish Destroys the Vintage part of the guitar! But it looks modern! Love the Inlays, Binding, and Head Inlay! OMG Awesome!!!
Very impressive, very beautiful..... hows it sound??? I wonder how this very very rare fretboard wood sounds. I dont think ill ever see one of those again....... unless I order one with the same specs.... whatever
I actually like the look of that guitar, but I (and I'm pretty sure MOST people would agree) wouldn't pay ANYTHING over $3,000 for it, Custom or not. Now if it were a Ex-Celeb guitar, then I could see it going for a rediculous amount of money, but it's not so...
Call the Gibson Custom Shop. You can pick the color, wood pattern, pickups, just about everything. But, 1. it costs A LOT of money 2. it takes a good while to get the guitar after you order
@murfdog19 3 you don't get to hear it before you buy it and sometimes they just sound disappointing; if it was a guitar you'd been able to play in a shop, you would have been able to move on to the next guitar
For some reason Gibson has not been able to get their shit together because PRS has been blowing them out of the water with quintuple flamed maple tops...so hot you need a fire extinguisher! Apparently they have a staining process that realy brings the ribbons and 3D depth out maple and other woods. BTW I am not spamming I am a Gibson fan all the way.
I agree, but one thing I've NEVER been able to unterstand is, why people are so quick to dismiss a blue LP, but PRS has been putting out blue Single Cuts (essentially a thinner, more odd-shaped LP) for ever, and EVERYONE is always quick to comment on "how beautiful they are"? IDC what anyone says/thinks, if I could afford it, I would DEFFINATELY buy thios guitar!
"When have you seen a Blue Gibson- happens very rarely...?" the narrator asks.
Well, not many, thankfully. There's a reason for that. It's a butt 1980's ugly POS. How much does one have to pay the Custom Shop to destroy a good top like that by staining it blue?
lifton cases are terrible, they are only for looks, i wouldnt put a guitar that cost over 1,000 bucks in one, much less a one off. btw. gibsons arent supposed to be flashy, i would rather have a r8 plain top myself.
@JKryanX Gibson Customs are supposed to be flashy. The only reason they made the first custom was because a goldtop didn't look flashy enough for a band wearing black tie in a formal event.
Ditch the matching headstock and the overdone inlays, get an ebony board and block MOP inlays and then it'd start to look nice. Right now that is just gaudy as hell.
I have a question. Why in the world would you want to sell this guitar so you can get a telecaster? tele's don't nearly compare with the overall of a les paul??? why?
@distinctiveguitar So, this is a Les Paul that you had done to your EXACT specs? How much may i ask, as I am thinking of doing this, for my first Les Paul! Thanks!
