Aaah! The Master at his finest. I saw Lindley open for Jackson Browne in Portland, Oregon ... about 1989 (maybe) and he opened with this song. Sweet! Thanks for posting it.
Saw these guys in a club in Cologne in the 80s, must have been the same tour - I still have the LP, DL and El Rayo-X - that track is nearly worn through -
this song makes me wanna borrow a car and drive it really fast into a block wall!Lindley really tears that lapsteel guitar up!!!! , doncha think??Ya like this one, Denis?Such a different/ 360* to "Dust ", but what an energetic vibe!
This is the only video on You Tube that I've seen that features David Lindley / El Rayo X with Pierre Ras Babou on percussion. Ras Babou is on the original recorded version.
i saw lindley perform this on "Solid Gold" once. anyone remember that show? the "solid gold dancers"? pretty incongruous sight to see lindley wailing away. i thought it was terrific.
David Lindley rocks! If it has strings on it DL can play it!

Was this recorded in '82? I saw him in Cologne about that time, the place was packed out to the rafters, you couldn't breathe.
WinterBot7877 2 years ago
It was recorded in late 81 or early 82.
This show was Davids ticket for the "Loreley Festival Night" in August 82.
MB was not played as well as here on August, 28th.
Don´t look back was very good and Rag a Bag was really fantastically played.

this thing just rocks.

this version is much better than the "loreley-version", played 28th of August 82.
