plz help i own a go kart with an 8 hp brigs and it has 15 inch whells so the clutch dont work and i cant afford a tourqe convertor so i was wondering if i drill holes through the clutch and put pins in it whuold it be fine oth the motor liek when i start it have it on low idle then jump in and go

if its a centrifugal clutch you could try putting heavier springs on it. it will make the clutch engage at higher rpm which hopefully will be at a point with higher torque.

Just get a mini sprint by Factor 1 (600cc) like I did, lol. Cost more but alot safer than this thing. Looks like fun for a drunk weekend though;) There's always TAG karting too..... Anybody wanna buy a TAG, let me know.

highest we've had it was 80, but there was still some rpms left in sixth gear, would probably go 90. the sprocket in the back is pretty big, could change it to go faster, but no time or money right now.

made it that long so that we weren't scrunched together while we were driving. also had to push the front suspension up to keep it under 48" wide, kinda hard to have the tires back when there's a clutch and everything to shove up there. its not too bad though, just not much for a turning radius, but the engine can help with that ;)

this was all kinda built on the fly, not too many plans for it, but i might be able to get some dimensions if you want them. otherwise just look around online, should be something. i would suggest starting small if its your first big project.
