My hats off to Robert for reinventing himself but also staying true to his roots.Like somebody else posted here.. he always was into folky stuff... listen to the acoustic Zep stuff ...going to california or Bran yu stomp etc.John Paul Jones is really into the bluegrass influence with his awesome mandolin playing..and i know they also were influenced by delta blues and middle eastern music..I think at this point in his life he's in a great place musically
@mcdermottlaw no dude, he's half retired, plus i bet you didn't see this live like we did, unreal, and so so Plant, live,, he made everyone lauph, it was just as good of not better than seeing zeppelin, really. he's layed back, that's the whole idea
A bit too 'country-fied', even for me...but it's great anyway to listen to Robert and see he hasn't lost one bit of his charm throughout all these years :P
I think the beard really has to go, though. Really, Robert. Just a bit of a trim, looks so much better smoothly shaved, better hair-cut. Sounds good though.
@DrSquidley I disagree... Plant was always a better singer than Mick. Mick's voice hasn't really changed at all, and it's perfect for the kind of music the Stones play.
@DrSquidley I saw "Shine a Light" and when the Stones did "Sympathy for the Devil," I could only think retire that song from your live show now! I saw Plant and the Band of Joy less than a week ago now and with the exception of the newer arrangement of "Black Dog," I loved every minute of the show.
@rodentcafeteria I agree.Ya know where on this earth once and you should do what you enjoy.Huge mega God like him and Page or just an average guy like im sure they might be as well. He's doing what he wants and is well aware of what he can and can't do anymore.Gotta respect that.I think he will all ways have a voice that is like opening your favorite present on a Christmas.
That's fantastic! I was there but not as close! Amazing quality of film AND you film it very well! I usually film shows but with a video camera but I usually get permission. What did you use? Even if it's just a phone, didn't people behind you complain? I want to really thank you for doing it though. I noticed they were filming the show for future use but God knows when that will be.It took over 35 years for 'How the West was won' to come out and we're still waitng for the release of the 02 show.
Actually, Josh, RAP was the only singer who missed a couple of notes -- the other voices were just super all the way through. Watch the recent BBC interview to hear how RAP feels about singing with these greats!
best ever show i had ever seen !

I know Robert Plant has grown away from Zeppelin, but why does he feel the need to ruin classic. I hate to say this....This sucks.

@blackdog3030 dude you dont know music.

@blackdog3030 Maybe because he co-wrote the classic, so he's free to re-invent them any way he wants.

Judging from the look on his face, I'd say Robert Plant is enjoying his career more now than he has in a long, long time.
