  • O my god. Thank you for putting this song up. I haven't hear it in 15 years. I couldn't find it anywhere. It was me and my dads song

  • good

  • Ironic that John Denver was a Republican huh? Still, a nice rendition of a fabulous people's anthem.

Say, where did you get all those pictures? Are they available on the web?

  • @oleeb It's been a while since I put this together so I can't remember exactly where I got the pics from but I spend hours trawling through public domain sites.. sorry I can't be more helpful.

  • @oleeb no indication Denver was a Republican. I recall he was pretty unhappy with Republicans in Congress at one point in my youth. Maybe another one of those myths?

  • The subject, music & her voice shared. RARE! It's raw, the pictures tells the story. As beautiful as it was sung, that was background, to the story told.

Not certain who shared this, but SO generous!! Thank you.

  • I grew up on John Denver and for some reason this song came back to me today after like 15 years. Thanks for posting:)

  • Her voice sounds seductive, right? Sometimes, it makes me think bad of her.

  • It's Cassandra Delaney.

  • nice version of these song and good pictures

    thanks

  • Why can't I share this on Facebook?

  • @pdetray Sorry I don't know anything about facebook so I've no idea why you can't share it. :-(

  • No, it's "sweated"---and the images of children make me think of the Missouri senator who wants to repeal big parts of child labor laws.

  • Our lives shall not be sweated, not sweeted or sweetened as this group sings... did they miss the meaning of the line and the word?

  • is that the composer, Mimi Farina singing with John?

  • @taddyd1 No, I believe that's his second ex wife singing back up vocals, if I remember correctly. It's on the Higher Ground album.

  • I just attended the Grace Carroll Rocky Mountain Labor School, where we learned the history of this song. Thank you for posting this beautiful version of the song, and the historical pictures you have included are wonderful. I wish more people were aware of the hisory of the working people in this country. Thank you .
