  • It makes a cool little beat to dance to!

  • The overhead piston drive is quite similar to that of a Junkers engine.

  • There is a large gas engine called the Oechellhauser that is designed similar to this that was made in Germany. They had single and side by side twin cylinder versions. They used them for heavy industrial applications such as steel mill blowing engines that provided the air to the blast furnaces.

  • Hello, Thanks for the upload, I haver seen it like 7 times. It is pretty interesting. Can you please tell me the complete name of the manufecturer? I have not found it and I have already researched for a few hours. I would like to get to know more about the origins of the engine, perhaps later try to get one.

    Thanks in advance. OSCAR

  • makes me wonder y people think opposed pistons r a new concept

  • This engine belongs to a friend of mine, Ripley, and he got it from an estate sale about 19 years ago, in Mansfield OH. The pistons were junk so I made him new ones and he painted my tractor in return.

  • Very interesting engine, very nice sound too.

Does it have a hit and miss mode?

  • that engine must wear out parts fast

  • Thanks for the comment. The engine is not mine, it was seen at the Plain City Ohio engine show. The rotating thingy is a flyball govenor and you are right it is for speed control.

  • hello, nice engine.

Is these engines really wibration free?

And what is the vertical rotating thingy on top used for rpm controll?

  • The "vertical rotating thingy" is the govenor. When the engine gets too fast, the weights fly out and cut the throtttle.
