Too bad Pete's head was as big as his talent ! With him, Robert & Terry, this was the best vocal & instrumental band, we'll ever know. Even with the "new" guys, they're still our best !
what a memory song 1974 was the first time I heard this song back in my country. we were under curfew and the only enterteiment at home was the radio on my bed side when for the first time I heard it . love it ....
"The country I was brought up in fell apart and died.Lowdown, feelin pretty bad"That was 1971. US kids were dying by the 10s of thousands in Viet Nam for nothing but profits.
.NOW the bankers have taken over Congress, destroyed the economy and unleashed the police to beat down the assembling American people again. The war is here.THEY declared it 32 years ago and the middle class is dying.THAT is what this song is about. Then and Now.
Feel bad that the glass is mostly empty. Sure there are problems with our country but we aren't victims and can make it better, if not only for the people we have the ability to affect. Friend.
The spring of 1971 my senior year of High School what a great, great time we were having and hearing this on the Mighty 1290 KOIL in Omaha,Nebraska. Just five months before I was cast into that Shit-Hole of South East Asia..
Play this song quite often in the car. Did not know how to dance at 16 but was at a dance and the band played this song so I danced with a girl I didnt even know cause I wanted to get nearer to the band as this was my favorite song. Many nights in the backseat of my Impala with Chicago on the 8 track in the 70s.
I´m a spanish spoken one, but I enjoyed this song, since first time I listened to in 1975. I was 3 years old then. What good memories brought me this song. Thank you a lot chissykim

@aggager078 My thoughts exactly. I love Chicago, but this is one of the few songs
of theirs I will want to listen to 2-3 times in a row.

Is it my imagination, or does this sound like the singer is
doing a great John Fogarty singing treatment.
Love it!

One of my favorite Chicago songs. I always thought the Clash should have attempted a cover of it.

I lived just outside Omaha in 1971 and saw them perform several times in Omaha
Love it as much today when I hear the horns.

@herbssecondson They need to come to Omaha again! I'm only 13, but I'd love to see their current incarnation as much as this one.
