@Antifaith29 Foolish American Army. They let Lockheed and Martin design the jet rather than Boeing. Why did they deny Boeing? Or why didn't they develop a jet with the Japanese like the Mitsibushi F-2? But the F-35 is not released yet, the F-16 is still used. F-35 is used currently for training Navy and only 13 test aircrafts have been built so far. So lets see how this turns out after 2016 or 2018 where this will be introduced.

@Antifaith29 Ah, Australia did order some F-35s. I see Australia had bashed the F-35. If what they're saying is true, Lockheed&Martin are likely to take a look at it and fix out the problems. And Russians, they have good jets but they'll probably not be able to kill the F-35 in real life. But remember Lockheed&Martin are responsible for what is probably the best jet in history, the F-16. Don't worry, they'll hammer out all the problems. I'm sure they realize they've screwed up :)

The f-35 is a bad idea all around, it's too small to be an effective attack plane, not maneuverable enough to be a dogfighter, not enough range or speed to be an interceptor. And now it's too expensive to build.
If it is built, it will be outclassed in every area long before 2050.
They let the Navy insist on a vtol-capable plane, and they got another Osprey. If the navy had its way it would have 2 engines too.
F-35 is a multirole, whereas the Su-37 is an air dominance fighter, I really don't see how an F-35 could win in an air to air engagement, the power and maneuverability of the Su-37 would far outweigh the stealth of the F-35. That's if Sukhoi ever gets their ass in gear and get an aircraft into production.
ANY Flanker will have every plane in the world for breakfast..(.except for the Raptor of course)..F35 is a slow medium fighter bomber......(an old Phantom can out turn it)...F35 is a good plane for its role...but that role isn't fighting Flankers! lolol....To fight Flankers you'd need Raptors....or Flankers with better upgades!..nothing in the west apart from F22 can stand against a Flanker.

The F-35 is the 2nd best Military aircraft in the world besides the F-22. This is because it has the 2nd best Stealth capabilities and it's the most technological aircraft in the world. Its computers are so amazing in there that the plane is basically flying you. And the SU-37 is a Russian experimental aircraft. It will NEVER be in service.

The UK helped with the VTOL in the engine design etc. But that is basically the only country that got involved other than the United States. If Russia helped make it, i'm sure they would be getting some but a simple google search shows rissia had nothing to do with it and the only countries getting it revealed are: the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Turkey, Australia, Norway and Denmark.

Dont think of the F35 as a fighter like the SU37. The F35 is basically a B2 bomber but given fighting capabilities and better stealth incase it has fighter jets come up to take it out. B2's were unarmed and were shot down in the gulf war, bombers need to be armed for dogfights nowadays. The F22 would be the jet to fight the SU37, and would most likely beat the SU37 because a) it has stealth technology B) is ever so just faster, C) and has better onboard technology.

@supremokulaba I used to think that as well but the F22 is much faster than the F-35. The F-22 goes Mach2.5, whereas the F35 is Mach 1.7. - The F35 is basically an armed, faster version of a bomber, where as the F22 is a fighter jet which needs to be very fast.

@tisfatty The only way that would happen would be in a war between 2 countries that would have any of those top fighters. This war would likely be WWIII. The cost of just 1 of those aircrafts is well above the average hollywood blockbuster. Consider at least 2 of those. Add in the rest of the movie expenses (fuel, cast, ...). Military contractors don't sell to move studios, but allied goverments. And not in the unit. The list goes on and on. If it would ever happen whole studio goes bankrupt.

@stefanSRBSp93 How about the HIMAT and X-31? After all that's where modern TV came from. The X-31 can achieve max aoa at over 400kts while sustaining max g load. The only other aircraft in the world that can do that is the EF-2000. There is a reason only two Su37s were made. Once you load more than 35% fuel that aircraft loses a great deal of mobility and can no longer hang a highA That's why you never see weapons on it in these demos. The Superhornet is more maneuverable with weapons.
@rickg156 Maybe I pay attention to little things like max AoA, corner speed, min turn radius, min turn rate, the kind of things they don't usually write in the specifications, but which maneuverability is all about.
No plane without OVT is anywhere near being among the most maneuverable. Planes with OVT and differential thrust are in a class by themselves.
F-18's are still valuable, most air combat doesn't end up in low-speed dogfights.

The F-35 is a multi-role fighter. Its not made for dog-fighting but for air support and bombing. Still, the SU-37 is a clunker so this would be a decent match-up. The F-22 would be a different story tho lol.

And Russians, they have good jets but they'll probably not be able to kill the F-35 in real life. But remember Lockheed&Martin are responsible for what is probably the best jet in history, the F-16. Don't worry, they'll hammer out all the problems. I'm sure they realize they've screwed up :)

The f-35 is a bad idea all around, it's too small to be an effective attack plane, not maneuverable enough to be a dogfighter, not enough range or speed to be an interceptor. And now it's too expensive to build.
If it is built, it will be outclassed in every area long before 2050.
They let the Navy insist on a vtol-capable plane, and they got another Osprey. If the navy had its way it would have 2 engines too.

F-35 is a multirole, whereas the Su-37 is an air dominance fighter, I really don't see how an F-35 could win in an air to air engagement, the power and maneuverability of the Su-37 would far outweigh the stealth of the F-35. That's if Sukhoi ever gets their ass in gear and get an aircraft into production.

The F-35 is the 2nd best Military aircraft in the world besides the F-22. This is because it has the 2nd best Stealth capabilities and it's the most technological aircraft in the world. Its computers are so amazing in there that the plane is basically flying you. And the SU-37 is a Russian experimental aircraft. It will NEVER be in service.

The UK helped with the VTOL in the engine design etc. But that is basically the only country that got involved other than the United States. If Russia helped make it, i'm sure they would be getting some but a simple google search shows rissia had nothing to do with it and the only countries getting it revealed are: the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Turkey, Australia, Norway and Denmark.

Dont think of the F35 as a fighter like the SU37. The F35 is basically a B2 bomber but given fighting capabilities and better stealth incase it has fighter jets come up to take it out. B2's were unarmed and were shot down in the gulf war, bombers need to be armed for dogfights nowadays. The F22 would be the jet to fight the SU37, and would most likely beat the SU37 because a) it has stealth technology B) is ever so just faster, C) and has better onboard technology.

@tisfatty The only way that would happen would be in a war between 2 countries that would have any of those top fighters. This war would likely be WWIII. The cost of just 1 of those aircrafts is well above the average hollywood blockbuster. Consider at least 2 of those. Add in the rest of the movie expenses (fuel, cast, ...). Military contractors don't sell to move studios, but allied goverments. And not in the unit. The list goes on and on. If it would ever happen whole studio goes bankrupt.

@stefanSRBSp93 How about the HIMAT and X-31? After all that's where modern TV came from. The X-31 can achieve max aoa at over 400kts while sustaining max g load. The only other aircraft in the world that can do that is the EF-2000. There is a reason only two Su37s were made. Once you load more than 35% fuel that aircraft loses a great deal of mobility and can no longer hang a highA That's why you never see weapons on it in these demos. The Superhornet is more maneuverable with weapons.

No plane without OVT is anywhere near being among the most maneuverable. Planes with OVT and differential thrust are in a class by themselves.
F-18's are still valuable, most air combat doesn't end up in low-speed dogfights.

@stefanSRBSp93 , Most of russia's planes can't even get off the ground, the only ones that work are the ones that really work for demonstration and those still fuck up, the U.S. f-22 and the f-35 are the most advanced planes out there right now. an F-22 can take out an entire squadron of f-18's only using its gun. the 22, and the 35 are virtually untraceble on radar.

The F-35 is a multi-role fighter. Its not made for dog-fighting but for air support and bombing. Still, the SU-37 is a clunker so this would be a decent match-up. The F-22 would be a different story tho lol.

It does out perform the f-35, but then again the f-35 is a ground attack aircraft with limited stealth for air to air. Lets compare apples to apples. Say the su-37 against the F-22 Raptor. There the sU-27 will get its butt handed to him.
