Hi guys, need ya help! My Tappets are making the same noise, how do I sort it, mates have told me I need an oil change!!! Others have said to take it to a garage and they do something to the Tappets themselves then I've also seen comments about belt tensioner! HELP ME lol
I have just brought a corsa 1.2 16v sxi 1999, 1 lady owner from new however the throttle is very heavy and sensitive probly about 2-3mm between stall and over rev :< i loosened the throttle cable this allows me to put my foot down abit more but it dont fix the sensitively. Anyone got any advice? ty
all these people think they know whats wrong. simple mate take it into a garage. say one word. tappits. they need tightening thats all, mine did the same common problem with old ish corsas specialy 16v 1.2
I used to have the same car which occasionally made the same ticking sound. It usually went away after the car had warmed up. Is propably a stuck hydraulic lifter. Perhaps consider using a thicker oil the next time it is due for an oil change.

well the car is f****d to be honest, completely undrivable, soo boggy its unberlievable. but have a sport which is so much more nicer and faster.

mine is also starting to make that noise not. good. ive heard is can be a problem with the timing chain. or youve got worn camshafts or valve gears?

it is most likely the hydrolic cam lifter / lifters, 1 or more could be stuck .

LOL, my corsa was making the same tapping noise as yours m8, but then the next day the noise had dissapeared.
