I have a intestinal disease named Crohn`s and marijuana saved my life. I have had several feet of my intestine removed and live in constant pain. Moving my bowels 27 times a day is no big deal. If someone steals someone's weed now, the victim has no recourse with the law. What is he going to go into a police station and say "someone stole my weed, please help!?" So the only recourse is to confront the thief personally, which can and often does result in violence.

Leap says the drug war costs almost 70 Billion a year. When they speak of lung damage compared to cigarettes they don't mention most pot smokers smoke a joint or two a day, not a pack and a half. All studies, even the Federal gov't study show alcohol and tobacco use precede pot use in heavy drug users. So because they lie to keep it illicit they can say its the first 'illicit' drug used. I have a intestinal disease named Crohn`s and marijuana saved my life. I have had several feet of my intestine removed and live in constant pain. Moving my bowels 27 times a day is no big deal. If it weren`t for pot i`d never want to eat as it gives me the munchies. It helps controls the pain as well when I take a couple of puffs. I`m saying proof is there if your dying!

As for legalization. As someone stated, the illegality of marijuana costs the tax payers billions a year. Take a look at Amsterdam. Low crime rates, lower taxes, marijuana legal. (Amazing place btw).

There has not been a single death related to marijuana, however a single death was reported to be caused by cannabis, but this was disproven. The man smoked weed every day of his life, and when he died the weed was automatically blamed.

It is physically impossible to overdose on marijuana. I'm not sure of the exact figures, but it's something like 60,000 times the amount needed to get you stoned will kill you, where as for alcohol, it is 6 times the amount.

densor, if we make marijuana legal, then our police force wont waste its time and money arresting people for possessing the flowers of a plant. It doesn't lead to dependence, and only very rarely leads to depression in those who abuse it. Lack of oxygen to the brain causes brain cells to die, and smoke isnt oxygen so yes, smokeing pot indirectly kills braincells. It causes temporary short term memory loss, for a short amount of time.
