Im irish and was surprised when i first started watching nascar that i liked it. the drivers are obviously excellent, but comparing them to f1 drivers... i dunno. im not sure about how much nascar drivers have to do in the car apart from drive, i think they can change the break bias, bt i do know that f1 drivers must adjust da brake bias, nd rear wing, kers and drs as well as no abs and a double clutch for starting. if anyone can tell me what other tasks nascars drivers have to do, that'd be gr8

Tony's F1 car experience may not have been quite as new to him as it was to many of the NASCAR swappers, as he did get his start in open-wheel racers and indeed became the 1997 IRL champion. Granted, that series ran predominantly on ovals, but the bottom line is that Tony is used to the vagaries of an open-wheel racing car. All the same, a great effort, as another NASCAR driver proves that he can drive more than stock cars. :-)

Any race car driver that has driven both an open-wheel car and stock cars have agreed to this comparison, driving a stock car is like driving a mini van and trying to get the same performance as a sports car. F1 does take talent, but those cars are much easier to drive. Everyone thinks that their sport is better, it's always been that way and always will. The difference is some people are much more snobbish and think they're superior over others!

F1 is about extracting tengths... drivers who are older, cannot react as fast as the young guys, F1 reuires extreme physical and mental fitness, once a driver gets old and starts losing that he is no longer valuable to the team. Unlike Nascar where there is no fitness, no reactions, just beer bellies, and lazy, very simple forms of driving. Seriously... its not difficult to draft 10 cars and overtakein a constant oval at 180mph. Its not racing.

Being there was great.... Lewis is absolutely AWESOME!!! He was very friendly and great with the fans... We missed him while in line for autographs in montreal so we drove 5 hours to try to get closer to him at the Glen... It didnt happen but it was all worth it... I blew my air horn and he reacted and smiled back and did a burn out right in front of us... Thank you McLaren and THANK YOU LEWIS... YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!
