  • After a while you start to smile, now you feel cool

Then you decide to take a walk by the old school

Nothing has changed, it's still the same

    I've got nothing to say but it's OK. :-D Nice line . . . .

  • richarabha@gmail.com

  • John Lennon started to become telepathic and so did the Beatles in that it was no longer a song but a direct feed into the soul. He was a great loss. McCartney is 99.999999 % better than any musician alive but his is not John

  • Although this isn't one of my favorite Beatles songs I admire it's experimental arrangement.

The horn lines are wonderful and remind me of a military drill team of exuberant Kazoo players.

I also love how the bass, kick drum and crash cymbal repeat the shots at the end of each verse. That open crash shot harkens back to the big bands of the 30s like Ellington and Basie.

  • Köszi, a Beatles a legkedvesebb együttesem már megalakulása óta, ez a szám már az LSD hatása alatt keletkezett és ezért nagyon érdekes, fő a mondani valója.

  • BUEN DÍA A TODOS

  • Does anyone notice that the solo in this song is similar to the one in Revolver's 'Taxman'?

  • @JaulMcLennon yes, I think it is because Paul played both

  • @SirBarzdevics True!

  • Yes. The two solos were made by Paul McCartney.

  • @GolpeSujo tmsidk

  • john was talding about him seft he was in a family for the frist time and he wrote about it'''''' RONNIE KING

  • Thank you!! nice touch putting the dog, then the lion, then the dog. Thank you. Old Beatle fan.

  • @aramiscubs3b I AGREE! COME ON EVERYBODY! LETS DO THIS THING!

  • @aramiscubs3b HELL YEAH

  • @aramiscubs3b Hun, October 9th already passed, I don't see why your comment is still up there.

  • Mon enfance et le spot de pub pour les kellog's corn flakes... The best for you each morning...

  • .... 41 people don't even know what a morning is.... they live in caves... Thanks for the post...-:)

  • 41 people didn't have a "good morning".

  • I figure he was writing about the runup to fame roughly stated it's every budding stars diary. Every day these days. He'll smash ya face in. John Lennon ooh ee werea bad yin ! lol ... ....and LOVE IS ALL THERE IS // LOVE IS ALL THERE IS // LOVE IS ALL THERE IS // LOVE IS ALL THERE IS...=]

  • Beatles Ballad.

    Alert Address.

    Awakening Action Music.

  • Good morning :)

  • Good job on the video! Thanx for your time :)))

I'll look for that version without the horns. If I find it, Ill post it here.

    Thanx again!

  • Brilliant dark desparate Lennon lyrics. The horns lightened it up too much. There is a version without horns and "Good Morning" chorus...used to be here somewhere.

  • @verbaud its on youtube still its from the beatles anthology disc 2

  • @verbaud its on youtube still its from the beatles anthology disc 2 take 8 (i think)

  • @verbaud I don't know if it was the Lads or George Martin, but they really hated saxes, like this and Savoy Truffle.

  • how can 39 dickwads not like this???

  • brilliant song

  • me and my neighbor-girl bought this album at age 13...brought it to her daddy's stereo and with this song we went nut's....I loved the animal sounds too much!!

  • Long life Ringo and Paul

    RIP John and George

  • Comment removed

  • @uncleady1

actually ringo never had much difficulty despite the crazy things demanded from him, in their 8 year recording career paul made less than a dozen mistakes, he caused less than a dozen session breakdowns because of drum mistakes, charlie watts and keith moon never had to do those crazy ass rythms, time changes and so on but still many discredit ringo, despite bein g the man on the drums.

  • 2:39 nice cock lol

  • i assume that when the lsd kicked in was the point when his day and the song started picking up?

  • De los peores temas de los beatles

  • Good shit !.. in my fav ...gus

  • Paul was playing lead guitar and bass and Ringo was playing the drums and tamborine, it was George and John doing vocals, George was playing the lead guitar along with Paul, John was playing the rythem guitar.

  • it is ringo playing drums on this song. paul didn't play any drum parts on the albums until they made the white album.

  • Is that double bass that Ringo is using or is he somehow doing this on single? If so, bad ass!

  • @Sgtbigmike First of all, Ringo doesn't play the drums of this song ;)

Paul does. And no, he doesn't have double bass.

  • @PolythenePiggie

    ringo on drums.

  • @OropherThranduil Sure not, it sounds 100% like Paul's drumming.

  • @PolythenePiggie

actually paul could never drum like that, sorry, he's okay, but paul surely couldn't do 2 bass drums simultaneously.

such an unusual rythm is typical ringo, ithe song has been transcribed as a mixture of 4/4, 3/4 and 5/4 and the middle section uses compound time where the beats are divided into triplets.

  • @Sgtbigmike Ringo's IS PLAYING two bass drums on this track, aka "double bass'!

  • @jasonpp1973

there's a BIIIG difference between using two bass drums anda double bass drum, only pussys use double bass drums, john bonham never used one i nhis entire career, just like ringo, good drummers do crazy shit without making it easy.

he once owned one, but the rest of zep removed it becasue they hated the sound he did with it.

they were like, jee, bonzo, you don't need that pussy ass shit for kindergarteners.

  • @Sgtbigmike

he did it with two bass drums at the same time, like using both feet.

just like bonham never used a double.

duble bass drums are for sissys.

  • gotta love random animal noises.

  • where are they at 1:25? i've seen loads of pictures of them at this time but i just wanna know where they were and what they were doing? haha ta. x

  • @Missmysterio123

i think it's the party for the sgt pepper release, but i'm not entirely sure.

  • @OropherThranduil thanks xx

  • This song always makes me happy.

  • what a song..pure emotions

  • One of Lennon's "throwaway" songs... how crazy is that!! I'd do unspeakable things to write a song like this

  • @nirvana1714 unspeakble things indeed....

  • The Beatles are coming back, but not as the cute mop tops we saw the first time. This time, we will see them for the prophets they really were and hear the spiritual and truth side of their music. It will change the world again. Go to TruthContest (dot) com and open The Present, then read the section about The Beatles. Pass this on to every Beatles fan you know.

  • Is this the prequel or the sequel to HELLO GOODBYE

  • @ENACODNOM what about a sequel to "I'm only sleeping?"

  • Isn't this the best Beatles song?

Me I'm just one year older than you are , in the class just after ;D

    I wish I didn't have to go anymore ! ^^'

  • Is the instrument at :21 a saxophone??

  • @TechRyan88

    on this song

    Barrie Cameron – saxophone

    David Glyde – saxophone

    Alan Holmes – saxophone

John Lee – trombone + an unnamed on another trombone and another playing a french horn

  • Good morning, everyone, and it bears repeating...

  • this is the perfect song for waking up in a dream after an overdose that inducts you into a coma or something. lol.

  • Even when the Beatles will be considered as Classical music this will be infinitely popular.

  • it is the beatles, what else can you say that hasn't been said?

  • all i have to say is BEATLES RULE and also i miss them :( .... even tho i only heard them off of youtube

  • Beatles are great and all but they overshadow other great bands like the Kinks. It is really kind of depressing.

  • the beatles are awsome!!!!!! this is one of my favorite songs

  • the perfect song to wake up to every morning

  • Amazing guitar solo from Paul...Who could expect such phrasing from him...

  • They say on Beatles Rock Band, that the final chicken cluck at the end of this song matches up with the first guitar hit of Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Beatles said it was Sargent Pepper looking down on them.

  • I am so lucky,my mom has this on the ORIGINAL album from the 60's :D good thing i have a record player

  • I put this song as my alarm in the morning. :D

  • @stonegrooved I have nothing to say but it's ok.

  • This song feels like a friday

  • I like how John Lennon can write a song based of a Frosted Flakes commerical. :)

  • I wake up to this song every morning

  • This is Lennon taking another shot at bourgeous complacency and small-mindedness - more effective coming with a horn section and george's nice stinging lead break -

  • @SupernalOne

Paul McCartney was the lead guitar player on this one, but otherwise YEAH!

  • @LordChimpKing

    dude...

    he plays freking bass!!!

    left hand,btw

  • @comicnic

Are you saying that he didn't play this solo? Read a biography about him or check the Wikipedia page for this song!! Being left-handed and playing bass has nothing to do with it. He is still a great guitarist.

  • @comicnic Paul actually played both the lead guitar and bass in this song.

  • @Bluenaut96

nothing special during this period, he like to record the songs with the band and after that having time for himself in the studio to work out his basslines.

  • I really wish I owned this album... it's one of five i don't have by them ='(

  • 25 People are night owls and dislike the idea of kindness in the morning.

  • best band ever.

    john was nothing but genius.

why wasn't i born in like 1945???? wish my generation didn't hear the fucked up muic they do, and that beatles was the most popular thing :/

  • @PeaceJohnLennon You have to deal with what you have - just as Lennon or anyone else has ever done.

  • Paul's lead tone just SCREAMS! Esquire through a Selmer TruVoice.

  • It is an awesome way to wake up in the morning - I love the animal sounds etc.

  • try 2 listen while on maryjane...it's sound awesome!!!

  • This song is my stinking life but I am gonna smile cause its okay

  • Go to a show, you hope she goes... I've got nothing to say but it's OK...

My sister went off to college and left this at home- I ended up with it for the next decade or so- the music and album artwork is so famliar

  • There's always room for Leggos !

  • Not a huge fan of this one.

  • 1:22, awesome

  • Everything about this song is perfect.

  • in the series of farmyard sounds, each animal that appears is a predator of the one heard before it

  • paul mccartney plays the piercing solo.....if the beatles ever had one ha ha....but it was played by the......bass player.

  • @BrothersCup313

Paul just happens to play bass.

  • @BrothersCup313 Just as he did on Taxman! Don't forget the dueling guitars, during "The End" on Abbey Road! Great stuff!

  • the song gets really good at 0:00

  • Goodmorning everyone. Sounds great down here. :o)#

  • 1:15 to 1:55 EPIC moment in the rock history

  • look for the legos

  • It's funny. Lennon hated this song. Considered it a throwaway. The line "I've got nothing to say" came from the fact that he literally had nothing to say but needed to write songs for Sgt. Pepper's. Yet, this has always been one of my favorite songs. The lyrics paint such a simple, wonderful picture of someone's daily life. I identify with it more than I do with most other Lennon songs.

  • "Good Morning Good Morning." The Beatles.

  • my alarm is set on this song!

  • @xHerNameIsEmmax Good Morning ... Good Morning ... Good Mourning? :-(

  • @sweetredredwine ... Why mourning? The beatles should make you happy.

  • LO MEJOR

  • Is this Mono?

  • Profound - Nothing to do , nothing to say but it's ok . About just BEING !!!!!

  • the perfect song to start the day i like it !!!

  • the only song i don't like off this album

  • @scarface9000 why not?

  • @scarface9000 the only song I actually like on this album. except the intro and the outro before A Day In the Life. :)

  • great song

  • Sorry I shut it off after 10 seconds, the quality is pathetic. Guess I'll have to break out the cd...

  • wow thats wierd! in the first picture after the rooster, thats the order of them from oldest to youngest, and its also the order of them from shortest to tallest!

  • This song is set as my alarm clock on Google desktop! xD I wake up to this now. :)

  • בוקרררררררררר טוב

  • @drtadmor בוקר אור!

  • vote up if you think the beatles are awesome and that sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band is a great album :)

  • @wolfetom1 totally, I think it is 1 of if not the best beatles albums

  • YOU DESERVE A HUG FOR THE LEGOS

  • this is my favorite beatles song!

  • @MrRockzaw seriously?

  • love this song!!!

  • Thumbs up this if you think The Beatles invented the ironic mustache!!!!

  • Earthbound!!!! yaa hoo.

  • best album ever!

  • george is just rocking here. god i love the beatles.

  • @godfugitive

    McCartney

  • Is this double bass drum or not?

  • @metalsimon

No. He does play pretty rapid half note triplets in the guitar solo. Its ringos version of megadeth.

  • @metalsimon Yes it is, this is the oldest double bass drum i have ever heard. If you hear the demo, the drums are impressive, but it has no guitar solo

  • Only potential weak point of Sgt. Pepper in my opinion, and it still sounds 20 years ahead of it's time. Love the guitar work.

  • good morning to you too!!! :)

  • Good morning good mornong ahhh!!! yeahhh GREATEST BAND EVER

  • Paul plays the guitar solo while George plays the ryhthm guitar on this one.The Anthology version with George playing rhythm proves that George was hell of a rhythm player,as well as a lead player.

  • every time i have time, i listen to this when im eating breakfast and the rest of my day goes well

  • and a dog says..... MOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • This solo is soo nasty. Definitely ahead of it's time.

  • @TheTruthHurts212 another cool solo like that is in The End

amazing, and they all play in it, save Ringo

  • @TheTruthHurts212 In '67? Not really dude

  • I love this song. I love how dark and positive it is at the same time without really trying. "Nothing to do to save his life, call his wife in, nothing to say but what a day how's your boy been?" is a hilarious line.

  • Alternative., edgy, attitude rock..amaaaaaazing song...cutting edge Lennon!!! Years ahead of the pack, thank you, Mr. John Winston Genius Lennon...

  • i fucking love this song!!! :) something about the beat speeding up, slowing down, everything about this song. if i woke up to this song i wouldn't feel cranky in the morning! :)

  • This song just flat out rocks... Soaked with style... God bless The Beatles!

  • @sheridw my thoughts exactly!!! :)

  • yo amo la musica de los beaTles esta es una de mis canciones favoritas xD jajajajajajajajajajajajajaja y baya que son muchas

  • i've always wondered why paul wears an o.p.p badge

  • @MRH1GG1N5 During the "Paul McCartney's dead" era, o p p was supposed to stand for Officially Pronounced Dead

  • @MRH1GG1N5 isn't it OPD?

  • at :41 thats wierd how did you get that
