OK i had already download superuser nothing happened and i downloaded the Superuser fixer and after it said Extracting Superuser apk. , gaining root access.... fail i restarted my phone try it again and same thing happen as before

@tr0ysk8 you have to hit the back key so the underscore is under the last letter or number you entered. otherwise it reads the blank space as a character

ok, need help now. I'm trying for the wireless tether to work, (that's why I rooted my phone). I rooted it, but then it says that the kernel doesnt have the necessary features. I guess it's something with the ROM, but I have no idea where to get a custom ROM. (Iguess that is the problem) Unless my phone didn't root. But it did. idk wtf is happening. HELP!

@fennix2010 yeah I don't see it on my PC, is there a file on the phone itself that I need to disable/ delete? I don't ever recall installing HTC sync on my pc. I force closed HTC sync on my phone yet when I plug it up to the PC the software won't find my device.

Tried it several times but it keeps on telling me invalid beta key, aborting....I checked the spelling, lower case, etc. The only thing I can figure is one of the letters could be a capital I or lowercase L and tried it both ways, and still it says invalid beta key, aborting...Very frustrating, I want to root my phone so I can delete all those obnoxious preloaded apps.

It's telling me that the beta key is invalid, aborting....I know it's case sensitive and I have checked and re-checked to type the correct key, to no avail. If you delete revolutionary and download it again will it give you a different key.

he missed an extremely vital step. You have to flash the superuser.apk which will grant you full root access.

when it says enter beta key

just go to the menu bar and right click on it

select edit submenu paste

it should do it

@asd2one6 ok ones u have the htc drivers on ur pc. plug ur evo to the computer and run revolutionary, on the black screen u can find ur s/n

just copy and paste on the web site and do the same with the beta key provided by revolutionary

got everything to work and running cyanogen. key was to self-install the superuser zip manually into a FOLDER (named superuser or something) using the clockwordmod recovery and androzip pre-installed from marketplace. once you choose to install zip from sd card, find the superuser update zip and let it run.

you can then launch cyanogen through the same means or through ROM manager.

FINALLY! People who are stuck on the blue revolutionary screen like i was i advise you to download androzip. Once downloaded do the power+down and go to hboot and it will then ask you if you want to update and what not and you will be able to finish the process. Good Luck

I keep browsing sites and other videos and i have yet to find the answer to a common issue. For some reason i cannot get my phone to the yellow screen after you reboot. I get the blue letter revolutionary screen. I have s-off followed all the steps but can't get the image to do whatever its supposed to do. It shows up on my phone in the sd and in the phone identity i have pc36100 so im assuming i did something correctly just can't seem to figure out the final step

@dustin0morty is really easy. probably will take u from 5 to 10 min. well. u can do wifi tethering or overclock it. install different roms, is really awsome. u can always return to stock gb sense if u don't like it
