@anthony851 I do agree that they will prove the worth of the DL class and that line is definitely the place to do it. I'm not questioning the reliability of the loco (well maybe the electrics to some extent) but It does appear that the loco is under quite a bit of strain despite the 3,600hp the MTU powerplant packs, and more strain generally means more wear and tear
DL9112 is going to get raped on that line. If its doing the Kawerau-Mt Manganui run AND the Murupara Express, then they'll be rebuilding it quite often I'd daresay.
