capnkdawg -What? are you saying they're not the same people with two different names? All i can say is this is awesome and it's stupid to fuel the fire between Megadeth and Metallica cause they have made up. They are maybe not the best of friends but they don't hate each other any more(If ever).
Dave Is THE KING OF THRASH!!!Nobody writes twisted pentatonic riffs quite like him. He was a perfect replacement for the Dean line of guitars after Dime left us.

I said he enfluenced them, not wrote all their songs. He was their first REAL frontman. He did a majority of the talking, screaming, crowd control.
When King was in Megadeth, King took what he learned from Mustaine "a dictator of guitar as he put it" and used it towars Slayer.
I don't think Hammet ripped anyone off. He didn't have enough authority to do that. Metallica was James, Lars, and their backups. I do however feel that he is not as good of a writer/musician as Dave.
Also, no. RTL solo is very obviously not a Mustaine solo. Hammet has that slower blues sound to his solos. Mustaine uses a different scale and usually faster tempo than RTL which is a big indicator of this.
Hes not great at singing, but then again what Thrash band frontman can? Hetfield and Arraya sure as hell can't :)
He did enfluence 3 of the big 4 thrash bands in a large way and I believe he is a better rhythm guitarist than Hetfield, Better soloist than King. I also think a majority of his songs have more importance in the lyrics than a lot of bands.
I have this album. Its one of my favorites, but my favorite song would have to be The Hardest Part of Letting Go or How the Story Ends. All the songs are great though. May Metal live on.
World needs a here is good. I rate it ENGAME 10/10, UA 10/10, System 8/10 and World Needs a Hero 7/10. All really good though. I really think with the previous 2 he's really mixed his old way of writing music with his new way of music theme and lyrics. He still preserved his old music them well though. I just think he has finally found the perfect balance between Old Dave and New Dave. I'm liking the post Risk days as much as the RIP days personally.
Yeah I'm gonna go To the Anniversary tour in Lubbock. Gonna try to get the Testament fan package to that one. Then I'm gonna get the Megadeth Fan package for the American Carnage tour. I'm excited for both tours. I really like Chris Boderick for Megadeth. I think he plays so encredibly clean and precise. Sounds like he's helped Dave make progress in that area too. All the solos and sounds I've heard them do live are AMAZING!
whoooo whats a fan package? I live in San Antonio so Im hoping they drop by here at some point. I would love a VIP pass to one o ftheir shows. Id sell my guitars to do it heh. Not that this would happen, but even a 5 minute pow-wow with mustaine would be awesome.
@redheadhistorian It's a VIP pass with some other stuff. Look on there web site on the Killing Road Link it should say what shows have the Fan Packages and which ones just have tickets.
Endgame id give 8/10, same for UA. System has failed is one of my favorite albums, goes 10/10. World Needs a Hero is worse than Risk, i dont know what number to give it...
@Siiderimies HAHA! Yeah Chris Polands CRAZY BENDING BUISNESS IS AWESOME!!! I'm glad Dave got him back for that album. I love the last three albums! Like like the Killing is My buisness-RIP and the Countdown-Crypic Writing Dave came full circle. I can hear both in good balance with his knew albums.
Are half of you guys retarded or what? Dave Mustaine was the mastermind behind 3 of The Big 4 in the first place. Metallica kept using Dave's material until their 3rd album and Slayer would be no where if it wasn't for Dave letting Kerry King play in Megadeth. Dave taught Kerry how to play more complex scales and the only reason he went back to Slayer is because they started getting famous too. I get this info from Ian Christe's "The Sound of the Beast" metal history book.
there is no dave´s material in metallica, all songs were co-wrote by hetfield, ulrich, burton, mustaine, and he co-wrote 4 out of 10 songs in kill em all and co-wrote 3 out of 8 in r.t. lightning, and he did not co-wrote nothing in master of puppets.
kerry king never left slayer, he played some shows with megadeth but that´s all.
has for megadeth, after 25 years the band only sold 15 millions never won grammys or any kind of awards.
@cmlguerra Who do you think wrote the guitar solos and a lot of the riffs for Kill 'em All and half of the songs on Ride the Lightning? And I said "until" their 3rd album. All of that material is obviously Dave's style. If you were a big enough fan to learn how to play all of the songs on guitar with all the solos and sing it at the same time, you would know this. K.K. played shows with Megadeth and was taught by Dave. And of course any actual metal band is never going to win any "awards".
@cmlguerra You think James, Lars, or Cliff wrote any of those sweet ass guitar solos? James sucks at guitar; he's almost never played any guitar solos in their songs. In a band, the drummer writes the drums, the bass guitarist writes the bass lines, the rhythmic guitarist writes half the riffs, and the lead guitarist writes the guitar solos and the other half of the riffs. Most of the time, anyone is allowed to write lyrics. Slipknot isn't an ACTUAL metal band! They're obviously mainstream!
@cmlguerra Nowadays, Metallica do allow each other to write using each other's instruments, but back in the day, when they were a metal band, they didn't allow that. Go check that out. They explain that on their documentary, Some Kind Of Monster. And you are retarded if you think Slipknot are more brutal than Metallica or Megadeth. Joey Jordison is the only one in that band with any talent at all. Their guitarists are just learning how to do guitar solos.
@cmlguerra All Slipknot sing about is being angry, gross, and different. Megadeth and Metallica sing about actual issues that need to be addressed, like how screwed up the U.S. government and society are, the importance of freedom, and standing up for what's right as well as being angry and different. Slipknot have nothing important to say; they just like to fight and break stuff.
But how can you know how Metallica writes their songs? You may be correct about the drum parts, but surely not for the basslines. I think Cliff definitely wrote his own bass parts, but there are a lot of cases where a guitarist comes up with the basslines.
And the last sentence is just pure failure.
'Dave-style' was for quite some part on KEA. He helped writing 4 songs, it did have some of his style over it. TFH was pretty much his idea.
@OpethToolMetallica I heard Metallica and Bob Rock talk about how they write their songs on many of their documentaries- Some Kind of Monster, Classic Albums, and home video footage. Cliff was an amazing bassist and I'm sure he came up with a lot of stuff, but yes, guitarists can easily come up with basslines and the bassline usually just goes along with the guitars.
But just remember that (some exception on KEA) it only were RIFFS that were Dave's work. The composing always has been the job of James/Lars, not Dave.
Also, half of the songs on Ride the Lightning, including the solo's? Please stop exeggarating, and stop sucking Dave's cock. On the Ride the Lightning album they used 2 of his riffs, and the intro to "The Call of Ktulu" was his' too, but that's not even close to 1/8th of the album.
@OpethToolMetallica I don't remember ever hearing anyone say exactly how much RtL material was Dave's, but a lot of it sounds Dave-ish to me- solos and the chords that aren't the main power chord in metal, so I just said half. I'm not sure exactly how much of RtL was Dave's and I don't think many other people can tell for sure, exactly either. I just kinda threw "half" out there.
And you can see what's Dave's stuff by looking at his own albums. Two riffs, one the spider chord (obviously Dave's), the other the main Ride the Lightning riff, can be found on his own work, and the intro to the Call of Ktulu has the same chord progression as Hanger 18.
His work on it certainly wasn't much, RtL has Mustaine on it because three songs were written even before KEA was recorded, and they were written with Mustaine. But it were only a few riffs.
@OpethToolMetallica The credits don't tell which part was written by whom. Dave's scales in Hangar 18, Holy Wars, Peace Sells, Wake Up Dead, Devil's Island, In My Darkest Hour.... and actually most of his songs are the same as those used in a few RtL songs. I think Metallica's never openly said exactly how much of Dave's stuff they used probably because it was a lot more than what the credits describe.
I play guitar, and I can tell you that there is not a SINGLE RtL solo that Dave has ever touched. It's just not Dave's style, too melodic, not his way of writing a solo at all. Kirk is all about the sound, the melody, serving the song. Quite some of Dave's are just a technical exercise, two opposites.
As for KEA, the solo's were for the greater part Kirk's work, but he did build on Dave's solo's, and wrote his own stuff over it.
And there is nothing 'Mustaine' to find on Master of Puppets.
@OpethToolMetallica On one of these Youtube videos, Dave says that he told them not to use his material on KTA yet that was exactly what he heard when he listened to it. Kirk later revised all the solos for playing it live. The solos on many RtL songs, to me, sound quite "technical exercise"-ish, which I agree is Dave's style. No one's ever said exactly how much RtL material was Dave's, so I just said half. And for the third time, I said "until" Metallica's 3rd album.
You know, when its just a few weeks untill recording the album, you're not going to strip songs/parts of songs from the album, you're not going to undo part of the work you've been doing together, nobody is that stupid.
About Ride the Lightning solo's: Kirk may play technical, but it's still the melody that's the best of it, it's still definitely his style, still his long, epic, progressing solo's. Just look at the title track. Dave NEVER wrote anything like that, and he never said he did.
@OpethToolMetallica 1. Obviously. I really don't think Kirk put anything into KTA; they said they gave Kirk a demo tape recorded with Dave and told him that he was to learn all the songs in time to record the album.
2. I didn't say Dave wrote everything on RtL. The title track doesn't sound like Dave, but I think some of the faster solos like in Trapped Under Ice were probably written by Dave. I play and sing that song all the way through with all the guitar solos and they feel Dave-ish
1. You can think whatever the hell you want. It's not going to change anything to the fact that the solo's on No Life 'Til Leather ARE different to those on KEA.
2. The reason Dave has credits on RtL is because of the 4 track-RtL demo. It was made before KEA, and "Ride the Lightning" and "When Hell Freezes Over" written partially by Mustaine.
Trapped Under Ice was written after he left, and they do not steal material. They just don't unnecessarily remove his part of songs they made together.
@OpethToolMetallica 1. Dave could've changed his solos before KEA was made (they're his solos) and it's hard to learn solos exactly the same when you just have the recording to go off of.
2. Metallica lies about who they are and couldn't be trusted when Dave told them, "Don't use my material on the album." Metallica in 1983- "Fuck posers!", Metallica 8 years later- "We want to make music with orchestras that everyone can relate to." Metallica are the biggest posers ever. They are a lie.
1. Can you ever remember a case where somebody changed his own solo on a FINISHED song? Utter worthless speculations. And it's not hard to learn a solo off the recording when you're a PROPER musician.
2. Who is more into lying, making the other look bad? Dave who has a real bad grudge towards Metallica, or Metallica? Oh and by saying "Metallica are the biggest posers ever." it's all clear. You're just some Mustaine cocksucker who is only on YT to praise Dave and to hate Metallica.
@OpethToolMetallica 1. When is a song FINISHED? It can be hard for any musician to perfectly pick out every single note of a blizzard of notes from a song that is new to him/her.
2. Dave talked shit, but he didn't really lie a lot or you'd know. Metallica's entire career has been a lie. Don't get me wrong; I loved their first 4 albums, but they couldn't hide their true identity forever. I've played and/or listened to old Metallica all my life, but I've just discovered Megedeth a year ago.
You mean you have become a devout Mustaine follower? Stop preaching bullshit, Mustaine followed Metallica, and sold out by doing so. Metallica wanted to do something different, and Dave followed after.
There is no basis for saying that Metallica are a lie, if anything, Mustaine is a lying asshole. He says the most stupid things, like that Metallica used some of his stuff on MoP... He just wants to discredit them, only because he was kicked out for a good reason.
@OpethToolMetallica What's that? I can't understand you with all 4 of Metallica's cocks in your mouth and hands. Yeah, Megadeth followed Metallica in selling out, probably because more money sounded good to Dave along with Capitol and Marty wanting to change things up. Metallica are a lie because they told us they were metal and hated posers in the 80's yet their true colors have shown otherwise over the past 20 years. I've never heard Dave say any of his material was on MoP.
@OpethToolMetallica Dave was kicked out for a good reason? For what "good" reason would that be? That he was an angry drunk and druggie, just like James and Lars? It's not that hard to get along with angry alcoholics- my dad's one. I watched him execute a dog of ours with a .22 cal. rifle in the back of the head once for peeing in the house and I don't hold it against him; he's an alcoholic. He even had me garbage bag the body and take it to the dumpDo you know that James cried after firing him?
Also, Mustaine sold out just as hard. Just look at Risk, Cryptic Writings or The World Needs a Hero, those CANNOT be called 'trve' to what he started. He's a sellout, deal with it.
@OpethToolMetallica Dave tried to sell out because he saw Metallica become billionaires by doing it, but Dave wasn't very good at selling out. Dave was trying to make money by being something he wasn't. He still had metal boiling through his veins which made what was meant to be mainstream music sound weird and no one liked it. Dave has always been metal, hence Endgame. Metallica doesn't even know how to act metal anymore, hence DM. We've all tried to not look metal in order to get a job.
He just wants to discredit them, only because he was kicked out for a good reason.
gay talica fan boy mustaine sold out only in risk gay talica used most of his songs sutch seek and destroy into the fire riding the lighting cal of ktul master of pupets idiot
@cmlguera listen retard ape yes my mistake i mean the hetfield use mustaines rifs the co writing many songs in kill em all riding the lighting and some rumor said that master of papets bass rif was from peace sells 2 i bet u are agay talica fan boy metalica stole the enter the sadman from asmal band caled excel the name of the song is taping in to the void 3 you are an ape jonas brother hanah montana shakira beyonce lday gaga fan so get out from a megadeth song
ok mr take my cock and suck it i know that true harts so go a way gaytalica fan boy go to hell and rot fucking whore i hope dave kils you like a pig and burn you and piss on your face
Hmm, I absolutely love Megadeth and know that they are musically more skilled than metallica, but I do respect Metallica as they have made excellent music even without Daves aid, but what annoyed me is the fact that to you, orchestraic music is inferior to metal, let me tell you that orchestral music is the most complex form of music there is, so please applaud metallicas effort to attempt orchestral music instead of ignorantly dissing them. everyones needs to evolve,
@abhimuscat No, I wasn't dissing orchestral music at all; I love classical music like Bach, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Mozart and Beethoven. It definitely is some of the most complex music ever. The most skilled guitarists ever have been highly influenced by classical music. I was dissing Metallica for having an orchestra play along with them(they were being something that they implied they weren't). They really didn't attempt orchestral music, they just had an orchestra play with them.
Slayer (1981) is "more important" than Megadeth (1983) only because of its antiquity, not because of it's quality. In the other hand, I prefer Megadeth, but I think there must be Testament too!!
@Pedromegaman i know why would he keep the drover bros? i wish he kept menza, he was a perfect drummer for dave, and marty friedman was also a great guitarist.'
Dave Mustaine is one of the most talented guitarists ever i think...and Chris Broderick also RULES...But..We can't compare all the time Megadeth with Metallica...Both bands are excellent...(i prefer Megadeth...:P)
Dave is a great guitar player and has some awesome riffs but dont know... i just like a few megadeth songs or just parts of them. on the other hand i listen to the variety of music that has metallica even of the "shitty albums" and i found something great there. i dont mean that i like everything metallica does, but i find a lot of interesting stuff in most of their songs.
everything Metallica does is in E or A. They are the most boring band. Megadeth has ten times the variety in riffs and keys. Tornado of Souls B Hanger 18 D Symphony is in E. A Tout le monde F#.
Kirk's solos are actually pretty simple if you take away the stupid, excessive whammy bar and wah wah pedal. James, on the other hand, has a picking hand as good as kerry king and has some awesome riffs. Even still, neither of them are as technically skilled as Dave Mustaine.
@Zacherson72 I agree, but Kirk has some epic solos that can pop outa nowhere even if he overuses the wah-wah, but I agree Dave is all-around better than Kerry King and Kirk all-together, Dave once said the only guitarists that can play as good as him as far as rythm goes are James Hetfield and Neil Young.
I think he said that is was Malcom Young, not Neil. I am definitely not talking trash about Kirk, James, or Kerry at all. I love them all as guitarists and song writers. But the only point I am trying to make is that neither of them is as technically skilled as Dave.
Agreed. I actually prefer Kerry's playing style, but for sheer technical skill Dave takes the cake. Just look at the Holy Wars tabs as a testament to that!
@Zacherson72 ya you are right sorry about that it was malcom, but its true Dave is very skilled as far as technique goes, he fucking invented the spider chord.
Easily my favorite song off Endgame. Good shit.

Also, no. RTL solo is very obviously not a Mustaine solo. Hammet has that slower blues sound to his solos. Mustaine uses a different scale and usually faster tempo than RTL which is a big indicator of this.

in this case, not so much slower for thsi song, but there are still chunks that have the blues sound he uses for nearly every solo.

How do you rate the last four albums. World Needs a Hero, The System Has Failed, United Abominations, and ENDGAME.
lvtlfdlmp 2 years ago
well, I havent heard much of World needs a hero. System has failed 6/10. UA 10/10, Endgame 9/10
redheadhistorian 2 years ago
World needs a here is good. I rate it ENGAME 10/10, UA 10/10, System 8/10 and World Needs a Hero 7/10. All really good though. I really think with the previous 2 he's really mixed his old way of writing music with his new way of music theme and lyrics. He still preserved his old music them well though. I just think he has finally found the perfect balance between Old Dave and New Dave. I'm liking the post Risk days as much as the RIP days personally.
lvtlfdlmp 2 years ago
I feel UA has a style like none other. Endgame has a very dirty feel to it, totally different than the processed sound of UA.
They are going on a Rust In Piece 20 year Anniversary tour... I cant wait.... LUCRETIA LIVE !!!!!
redheadhistorian 2 years ago
Yeah I'm gonna go To the Anniversary tour in Lubbock. Gonna try to get the Testament fan package to that one. Then I'm gonna get the Megadeth Fan package for the American Carnage tour. I'm excited for both tours. I really like Chris Boderick for Megadeth. I think he plays so encredibly clean and precise. Sounds like he's helped Dave make progress in that area too. All the solos and sounds I've heard them do live are AMAZING!
lvtlfdlmp 2 years ago
whoooo whats a fan package? I live in San Antonio so Im hoping they drop by here at some point. I would love a VIP pass to one o ftheir shows. Id sell my guitars to do it heh. Not that this would happen, but even a 5 minute pow-wow with mustaine would be awesome.

@redheadhistorian It's a VIP pass with some other stuff. Look on there web site on the Killing Road Link it should say what shows have the Fan Packages and which ones just have tickets.

Metallishredder19 2 years ago
mustaine is the mastermind of losers and drugs.
there is no dave´s material in metallica, all songs were co-wrote by hetfield, ulrich, burton, mustaine, and he co-wrote 4 out of 10 songs in kill em all and co-wrote 3 out of 8 in r.t. lightning, and he did not co-wrote nothing in master of puppets.
kerry king never left slayer, he played some shows with megadeth but that´s all.
has for megadeth, after 25 years the band only sold 15 millions never won grammys or any kind of awards.
cmlguerra 2 years ago
@cmlguerra Who do you think wrote the guitar solos and a lot of the riffs for Kill 'em All and half of the songs on Ride the Lightning? And I said "until" their 3rd album. All of that material is obviously Dave's style. If you were a big enough fan to learn how to play all of the songs on guitar with all the solos and sing it at the same time, you would know this. K.K. played shows with Megadeth and was taught by Dave. And of course any actual metal band is never going to win any "awards".
Metallishredder19 2 years ago

kill em all:
4 songs wrote by- james,larz,cliff,dave
4 songs wrote by- james,larz
2 songs wrote by james.larz,cliff
ride the lightning:
6 songs wrote by- james.larz,cliff
2 songs wrote by- james,larz,cliff,dave
ps. slipknot won a grammy this year
cmlguerra 2 years ago
@cmlguerra You think James, Lars, or Cliff wrote any of those sweet ass guitar solos? James sucks at guitar; he's almost never played any guitar solos in their songs. In a band, the drummer writes the drums, the bass guitarist writes the bass lines, the rhythmic guitarist writes half the riffs, and the lead guitarist writes the guitar solos and the other half of the riffs. Most of the time, anyone is allowed to write lyrics. Slipknot isn't an ACTUAL metal band! They're obviously mainstream!
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
you havent seen metallica at studio did you?
well check it out, all members write everything, guitar, drums bass....
go check it out.....
slipknot are way more brutal than metallica and megadeth.......
cmlguerra 2 years ago
@cmlguerra Nowadays, Metallica do allow each other to write using each other's instruments, but back in the day, when they were a metal band, they didn't allow that. Go check that out. They explain that on their documentary, Some Kind Of Monster. And you are retarded if you think Slipknot are more brutal than Metallica or Megadeth. Joey Jordison is the only one in that band with any talent at all. Their guitarists are just learning how to do guitar solos.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
@cmlguerra All Slipknot sing about is being angry, gross, and different. Megadeth and Metallica sing about actual issues that need to be addressed, like how screwed up the U.S. government and society are, the importance of freedom, and standing up for what's right as well as being angry and different. Slipknot have nothing important to say; they just like to fight and break stuff.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
Slipknot fucking sucks, gotta agree on that.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica I heard Metallica and Bob Rock talk about how they write their songs on many of their documentaries- Some Kind of Monster, Classic Albums, and home video footage. Cliff was an amazing bassist and I'm sure he came up with a lot of stuff, but yes, guitarists can easily come up with basslines and the bassline usually just goes along with the guitars.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
But just remember that (some exception on KEA) it only were RIFFS that were Dave's work. The composing always has been the job of James/Lars, not Dave.
Also, half of the songs on Ride the Lightning, including the solo's? Please stop exeggarating, and stop sucking Dave's cock. On the Ride the Lightning album they used 2 of his riffs, and the intro to "The Call of Ktulu" was his' too, but that's not even close to 1/8th of the album.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica I don't remember ever hearing anyone say exactly how much RtL material was Dave's, but a lot of it sounds Dave-ish to me- solos and the chords that aren't the main power chord in metal, so I just said half. I'm not sure exactly how much of RtL was Dave's and I don't think many other people can tell for sure, exactly either. I just kinda threw "half" out there.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
The credits are there for a reason.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica The credits don't tell which part was written by whom. Dave's scales in Hangar 18, Holy Wars, Peace Sells, Wake Up Dead, Devil's Island, In My Darkest Hour.... and actually most of his songs are the same as those used in a few RtL songs. I think Metallica's never openly said exactly how much of Dave's stuff they used probably because it was a lot more than what the credits describe.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
I play guitar, and I can tell you that there is not a SINGLE RtL solo that Dave has ever touched. It's just not Dave's style, too melodic, not his way of writing a solo at all. Kirk is all about the sound, the melody, serving the song. Quite some of Dave's are just a technical exercise, two opposites.
As for KEA, the solo's were for the greater part Kirk's work, but he did build on Dave's solo's, and wrote his own stuff over it.
And there is nothing 'Mustaine' to find on Master of Puppets.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica On one of these Youtube videos, Dave says that he told them not to use his material on KTA yet that was exactly what he heard when he listened to it. Kirk later revised all the solos for playing it live. The solos on many RtL songs, to me, sound quite "technical exercise"-ish, which I agree is Dave's style. No one's ever said exactly how much RtL material was Dave's, so I just said half. And for the third time, I said "until" Metallica's 3rd album.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
You know, when its just a few weeks untill recording the album, you're not going to strip songs/parts of songs from the album, you're not going to undo part of the work you've been doing together, nobody is that stupid.
About Ride the Lightning solo's: Kirk may play technical, but it's still the melody that's the best of it, it's still definitely his style, still his long, epic, progressing solo's. Just look at the title track. Dave NEVER wrote anything like that, and he never said he did.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica 1. Obviously. I really don't think Kirk put anything into KTA; they said they gave Kirk a demo tape recorded with Dave and told him that he was to learn all the songs in time to record the album.
2. I didn't say Dave wrote everything on RtL. The title track doesn't sound like Dave, but I think some of the faster solos like in Trapped Under Ice were probably written by Dave. I play and sing that song all the way through with all the guitar solos and they feel Dave-ish
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica 1.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
thank you
megaboxxx 2 years ago
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica 1.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
You mean you have become a devout Mustaine follower? Stop preaching bullshit, Mustaine followed Metallica, and sold out by doing so. Metallica wanted to do something different, and Dave followed after.
There is no basis for saying that Metallica are a lie, if anything, Mustaine is a lying asshole. He says the most stupid things, like that Metallica used some of his stuff on MoP... He just wants to discredit them, only because he was kicked out for a good reason.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica What's that? I can't understand you with all 4 of Metallica's cocks in your mouth and hands. Yeah, Megadeth followed Metallica in selling out, probably because more money sounded good to Dave along with Capitol and Marty wanting to change things up. Metallica are a lie because they told us they were metal and hated posers in the 80's yet their true colors have shown otherwise over the past 20 years. I've never heard Dave say any of his material was on MoP.
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica Dave was kicked out for a good reason? For what "good" reason would that be? That he was an angry drunk and druggie, just like James and Lars? It's not that hard to get along with angry alcoholics- my dad's one. I watched him execute a dog of ours with a .22 cal. rifle in the back of the head once for peeing in the house and I don't hold it against him; he's an alcoholic. He even had me garbage bag the body and take it to the dumpDo you know that James cried after firing him?
Metallishredder19 2 years ago
Also, Mustaine sold out just as hard. Just look at Risk, Cryptic Writings or The World Needs a Hero, those CANNOT be called 'trve' to what he started. He's a sellout, deal with it.
OpethToolMetallica 2 years ago
@OpethToolMetallica Dave tried to sell out because he saw Metallica become billionaires by doing it, but Dave wasn't very good at selling out. Dave was trying to make money by being something he wasn't. He still had metal boiling through his veins which made what was meant to be mainstream music sound weird and no one liked it. Dave has always been metal, hence Endgame. Metallica doesn't even know how to act metal anymore, hence DM. We've all tried to not look metal in order to get a job.

Hmm, I absolutely love Megadeth and know that they are musically more skilled than metallica, but I do respect Metallica as they have made excellent music even without Daves aid, but what annoyed me is the fact that to you, orchestraic music is inferior to metal, let me tell you that orchestral music is the most complex form of music there is, so please applaud metallicas effort to attempt orchestral music instead of ignorantly dissing them. everyones needs to evolve,
cheers, support metal
abhimuscat 2 years ago
@abhimuscat No, I wasn't dissing orchestral music at all; I love classical music like Bach, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Mozart and Beethoven. It definitely is some of the most complex music ever. The most skilled guitarists ever have been highly influenced by classical music. I was dissing Metallica for having an orchestra play along with them(they were being something that they implied they weren't). They really didn't attempt orchestral music, they just had an orchestra play with them.

Kirk's solos are actually pretty simple if you take away the stupid, excessive whammy bar and wah wah pedal. James, on the other hand, has a picking hand as good as kerry king and has some awesome riffs. Even still, neither of them are as technically skilled as Dave Mustaine.
Zacherson72 2 years ago 5
@Zacherson72 yeh. agreed. its all just pentatonic, and to be honest its kinda amatuer style licks.
almostsk8er01 2 years ago
@Zacherson72 I agree, but Kirk has some epic solos that can pop outa nowhere even if he overuses the wah-wah, but I agree Dave is all-around better than Kerry King and Kirk all-together, Dave once said the only guitarists that can play as good as him as far as rythm goes are James Hetfield and Neil Young.
issa9 2 years ago
I think he said that is was Malcom Young, not Neil. I am definitely not talking trash about Kirk, James, or Kerry at all. I love them all as guitarists and song writers. But the only point I am trying to make is that neither of them is as technically skilled as Dave.
Zacherson72 2 years ago
Agreed. I actually prefer Kerry's playing style, but for sheer technical skill Dave takes the cake. Just look at the Holy Wars tabs as a testament to that!
