I think this is some of Hanks' best work... but he hated this film. I watch it at least 3-4 times a year, and have watched it at least 100 times over the years. Carrie Fisher in a leopard-print bikini doesn't hurt.

I've looked for it for years... but it's just not out there. The music was by Thomas Newman, who also did the soundtracks for Shawshank Redemption, Cinderella Man, Road to Perdition (Hanks again), Scent of a Woman, Phenomenon, The Green Mile (Hanks AGAIN) and many others.

This film was soooo much better than Bachelor Party. The humor was more subtle and the story and characters were a bit left-of-center but it worked. These were the days when Hanks could still play characters that were goofy, lovable and genuinely funny. After this film, Splash, The Money Pit, Bachelor Party and Volunteers it seemed like Hanks could do no wrong. Then came Nothing In Common and Punch Line. Holy shit, they sucked.
