  • We walked ours twice a day for 20 minutes, They adapt to whatever lifestyle you have. An amazing dog.

  • I babysit for a couple with a Brittany. He is gorgeous and very sweet, but he isn't exercised nearly enough so he is kinda loud and wild inside. He isn't that intelligent either, but he is just so... sweet! He climbs into my lap and sleeps there for a few hours after the kids go to bed. He likes me :]

Also, I have bad dog allergies but I'm not allergic to him at all. Brittanys only have one layer coat, compared to two or three. <3

  • I have a liver and white brittany spaniel but his parents were a spaniel and a lab :)

  • i have a brittany hes just 6 months :) i love him

  • whats the avg speed of a brittany?

  • my dog is a west highland terrier i wanted her to hav a friend but i could only have one dog my friend across the road had a brittany i was afraid to bring my dog out with the brittany cause i heard they where hunting dogs i tought it would just kill my dog cause of its size i built up the courage to let her out one day now they are the best of friends he has never hurt my dog. the greatest friend a man or a dog could have

  • Hey, guys. If there is anyone else with a brittany, could you tell me how to get it to stop whinging? It's walked everyday, and has the attention of 6 others, plus mine, and my brothers girlfriends, yet, whenever we put it out side. It whines and jumps, and whines and whines? :/ little help? <3

  • @TheDavidMac90 they are super smart dogs..so your dog is most likely whining beacuse you arent giving it attention at that moment. if you give in as soon as it starts whining you are in a sense teaching it that if it whines it will get what it wants..your attention. be firm but not harsh. dont give in and when your dog finally stops whining reward him/her with a treat or your presence :) good luck!

  • @TheDavidMac90 try doin this: leave it alone for like 10 seconds then go to it. repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat. when it no longer cries within the short period of 10 seconds give it a treat and praise it then leave it for 20 seconds and so on. its gonna learn that being alone isnt a bad thing, and that stoppin crying will get u back sooner :)

  • they're amazingly smart and caring- when I was a baby learning how to walk, our brittany becky would walk next to me and let me hang on to her coat, she never let me fall. I forgot how amazing those dogs were :)

  • "we have fun, we get drinks" wait what?

  • my brittanys are little devil their girls and their the complete opposite of what you see in this vid does anyone know where i can get some good obedience training? petsmart? ect.

  • My Brittany, Ben, is 12 years old now and starting to slow down. Up until about a year ago it took a lot to tire him out, could he ever run! Wonderful temperment as well, and very nice looking breed.

  • I had a french brittany named lucky and i had her since i was born. She died recently from cancer at the age of 14. I will miss her so much and hopes she rests well. RIP Lucky <3

  • @angiewy98 Iam sorry for your loss of your precious Lucky. I love Brittanys too. My sister had Freckles who was such a love and the sweetest soul. She was very energetic but could be the best couch potato to cuddle with. She didn't like to be alone and would go from room to room to find someone to lay with. She died several yrs ago, was going blind, losing control of her bladder, but could still sniff and loved to eat. We miss her beautiful spirit as I know you will remember Lucky too.

  • Brittanys forever <3<3<3<3<3<3<<3<3<3<3<3<3<

  • brittanys r the best !!!!

  • Just read your post paintballa.....we have a Brittaney. They are a great breed. Sorry about your loss.

  • Lush x

  • They are not joking about the smart thing.

My brittany has learned that whenever my alarm clock goes off i have to wake up. So whenever i dont get up right away after it goes off i get a bunch of kisses. If that does not work i get a paw in my face.

  • @Saph58 your right whan my alarm goes off (wich means i have to go to school) he runs and hides from me becase i have to put him in his canel

  • @Saph58 I live in an apartment with lots of forest around for the dog but will need to take it to the city sometimes and I don't hunt. I am an ordinary guy who will go out for walks with the dog and play ball and jogging with it. would you recomend this breed?

  • @catha86 Main thing to remember is that most of these dogs will go insane if they dont exercise. So make sure the dog is walked, jogged, or played with alot. If not then make sure it is outdoors most of the time so it can run by itself, if you dont have time. Taking it into a city is fine also if its on a leesh. Cant count how many times mine has escaped the leesh and just took off like a fire ball...not a good thing if there are cars.

  • @Saph58 I think these dogs are not for me at the moment. they are awesome if you have the time but I don't think I have.

  • Brittany's are energetic. Mines almost 10 and she can out run me lol.

  • My Brittany died last November. He was 15 years old. I'll miss you, and still do, puppy!

  • someones cat got a hold of their computer and hit the dislike button

  • The brits are great - they have fun with EVERYTHING they do

  • Fred(my dog) has finally started to poop outside; i'm so happy.

  • I've got a Brittany and she's got such a great personality. Very playful and puppylike. Sometimes she's a little too much for me to handle, but when she looks at me, I can't help but say, "it's okay baby!" She's more my father's dog. He grew up with his grandfather (a french immigrant) and his brittany and so he just loves the breed to pieces. Either way, they're such a fun dog to have!

  • my brittany is not "innocent" she is so mischeavios <----sorry

  • my hole life i had a brittnay. I love them all and miss them too. so i have one now shes 5 years old and she is my life. i can not live in a home with out a brittnay sad i know

  • my favourite dogs are bernese mountain dogs, brittanys, nova scotia duck tolling retrievers, and newinlands.

  • Just got our first brittany. thinking about letting my husband get one or two more. we are training "huck" to hunt birds and it is a lot of fun. :)

  • I don't know that much about Brittanys. I love Bassets though! My couizin has a Brittany Beagle mix. He is adorable!!

  • I grew up with Brittanys. They are, hands down, the best dogs out there. For families, singles, and elderly alike. Perfect.

  • Mine lived up to 16! Raised her in France, brought her back to the US and she ran a lonnng wild life. Those dogs are definately not suited for apartments which I had when she was younger. Very emotional but crazy smart and always ready to please. Perfect hunting dogs, she'd bring back pheasants and hares at times!. Suggest having a big yard. Once I did, she let loose all her happiness. Died the night before putting her down, right in front of my eyes. Fitting that she now rests in HER backyard.

  • i have one his name is Bronson and he is 3 inches to big to be a show dog even though he was bred to be one. XD

  • i've had a britanny most of my childhood and she's a great dog. easy to train and very friendly. i little shy around other dogs and people yelling though. very good with pheasant hunting. the britanny spaniel's a great dog.

  • brittney spaniels are not supposed to point..... their supposed to stay close and zig zag back and forth flushing birds.

  • @facemcnasty - that is true of Springer Spaniel, but Brittany's are pointing dog as the video states.

  • @facemcnasty You may want to inform the American Brittany Club since they list it as a pointing dog, as well as the AKC and CKC. Oh and all the pointing trials that Brittany's win. But hey, what do people who breed and train these dogs know.

  • brittney spaniels are beautiful dogs i loved mine to death. sadly today my dog got hit by a car im really devestated there amazing was my best friend

  • Is it just me or do those tails on the pups look too long?

  • @mhorange they grow into them :)

  • I have two brittanies ones 13 and the other is 11....these dogs dont show age at all there like puppies until death...I love them so much

  • BNP

  • underdog is here

  • @98malimal

I've got Brittanys for over a 20 years now, at home they are couchpotatoes but great trialers, they chase wild boar, deer, foxes, cats, upland game and waterfowl and won't get out of the way for an Alsatian or Doberman

  • @98malimal lol underdog was a beagle....

  • 2:10 l0l0l0l!!! brittany looks drunk

  • Best dog out there for sure, very loving, gentle, easy to train, gentle (which is good for me due to the fact im in a wheelchair) id never go with a different bread me and my step father take him out huntin often and he is trained perfectly to do that and hes only a year and a bit old :)

  • i read it Brittany Spears at first sight...and then i realized i read it wrong...lol!!!!

  • My grandpa had a brittany (named Brittany) when I was growing up. He was destroyed by her passing.

Sidenote: I also had a friend with a skye terrier named Skye.

  • @alexpopinga i also have a brittany namde brittany. best dog ever. hunt with it all the time.

  • Whats the difference from a brittnany spaniel to a welsh or english springer spaniel other that the bright colouring

  • @ryanair737400 Welsh and Springer Spaniels generally have fuller coats, are a little bit larger, and usually have full tails. I've read that Springer Spaniels, perhaps because of more widespread breeding, are not as consistent temperamentally and can be more prone to aggression. The Welsh Springer Spaniel is supposedly the least "hyper" of the three breeds. Welsh Springers are pretty uncommon in the USA. Many bird hunters say that the Brittany is the best bird dog.

  • brittany and lab is the best pair possible

  • i have a brittany great dogs

  • I go a Britt about 4 months ago Ranger he is a cutey and a goof but i love him he is all ready starting to show signs of a true hunter

  • My brittany, lizzie, is ~15 years. I got her when I was 6, and I can't imagine not having her. She's still healthy, and I know their average age is about 12 years

  • @bcbird - Hi. My brittany is named Lizzie as well, she's about 8 mos. A great dog! Sounds like your Lizzie has been a wonderful companion.

  • "Ain't NO baby like a Brittany baby!!!"

    Love 'em!

  • I love brittanys sooo much they are so cute and lovable. I have one now and she is so loyal. <3

  • Thats terrible....but why did you leave ur baby alone with the dog?

  • WOW FYL

  • if you dont like brittanys why are you even commenting/watching this video???

  • mayb your baby provoked it

  • @elementknight liar

  • @elementknight Then you either abused it, trained it bad, or you're lieing.....I have one and he wont hurt a fly

  • as a puppy, are these dogs as active as terriers and beagles, or more mild-mannered? i understand that all puppies can be active, but are the Brittany Puppies more wild or more calm than others?

  • @oaklandp8ntbalr my brittany puppy (she is now 1) Was very very active as a puppy and still active. But I take her bike rides and walks all the time. :)

  • I used to have a brittany named Harlie. he was a great dog, he will be missed =(

  • Mine is 14 years old he is amazing

  • These dogs are great! We've had 3 and they have all been awesome!!

  • If I were ever to get a dog, Brittanys would be my first choice. They're so beautiful!

  • I so agree. We have a Brittany named Duke. he is 5 years old.

  • i love brittany spaniels! i've had one for a little over a year and she's awesome. i'm always amazed at how fast they are too. we let her out to run around and she circles the house about 5 times in a minute!

  • Are they department dogs though?

  • I got a brittnay is late 2002. He died yesterday of unknown causes. His name was apache. He was the sweetest, cutest smartest dog in the world. ill miss him forever.

If are looking to get a dog, get a brittnay. You wont regret it. RIP Apache. :( :(

  • I'm so sorry about your dog :(

I agree that they're amazing dogs. My family has had two brittanys in the past. Great family dogs. Very mild and sweet tempered.

  • @LemonadeLaura I also have a Brittany at the moment his name is Chester and he is only 6 months and boy does he depend Attention or what haha but I agree there great dogs accept when i walk him he just freaks out when he sees other dogs!

  • I am so sorry. I had to put my brittnay to sleep in february after 13 years. she had cancer. i loved that dog so much. however, i must tell you i got another brittany less than a month letter, and her personality was so similar to my previous one, that it was like she never died. I couldn't be sad after that. maybe you should think about doing that. good luck with whatever you do!

  • @paintballa175 wtf didnt u ahve osme other dog faggot

  • @paintballa175 That is sad. I have a Brittany named Duke and he loves to hunt be he is the biggest whimp ever.

  • I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Our family had a brittany for 8 years and we lost him in August 96. We named him Rusty. He was a great companion and loved to play and keep us all crazy.

  • @paintballa175 O I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS!MY HEART REALLY GOES OUT TO YOU!

  • @paintballa175 i feel terrible for that

  • @paintballa175 sorry to hear that. mine i have had since i was 5 months old. he is an old man but acts hyper and heathy. his name is marion. he didn't hunt but helped me learn how to walk. when ever i get hurt he comforts me. he is sweet and nice. r u going to get another one?

  • @paintballa175 likewise. i'll miss mine too

  • @paintballa175 I grew up with a female Brittany named Dutches. I still miss her, but she forever left me with a love for all bird dogs.

  • @paintballa175 I'm very sorry for your loss...

  • @paintballa175 yeah apache died

  • @paintballa175 I´ve got a Brittany also. She´s called Sisu.

She is very sweet and good campanion.

  • I lost my almost 15-year-old Brittany a year ago, and I still miss her dreadfully. There's no sight more thrilling to me than a Brittany running (and therefore supremely happy), or more adorable than a Brittany who wants to be petted.

  • Out of all three of my brittany spaniels only 2 of them absolutleylove to play the other one doesnt even bother to be involved.

  • Ok not all are high maitenance, but in terms of needs they can be, as can many dogs. Great companions, great for hunting :)

  • They are good dogs but they're also high maitenance too. They can be hard to train and stubborn but not all Brittany's are like that, but ours was. But they are high maitenance and they need a lot of exercise for their endless energy, so all their needs have to be met as a dog. But the training and well care of the dog does depend on the person but their highly intelligent, but they're good dogs :) Just make sure a hunting dog is one that's right for you, because if they see a bird, they're gone

  • check out brittany rescue for great dogs from rescue organizations. Love brittanys

  • Beautiful dogs, had mine for almost 11 years and she STILL outruns me whenever we go for walks

  • i got one for christmas and hes a puppy and he is so cool!

  • @woa11 oh yeah? HAve fun and enjoy every second :) they're the best dogs on this earth

  • they really are, i recently had to get rid of mine and i miss her soooo much. she was breed badly, so she had some temperment issues, and we didnt have enough time, but ill love my little ellie forever

  • getting one in 4 months

  • aww these are truly really good dogs! I miss mine :/ her name was Lili and she was orange and white it's true, every time we would scold her she would cower or look at us in the eyes and try to suck up to us! They REALLY are great dogs! My dog passed away from a very bad back :/ were not really sure but the vet said it was her back. If you want to see her she is my background on my channel. But REALLY good dogs :)

  • i love Brittany spaniels!! i have a 4 yr old orange and white male. he is 21 inches to withers, 40 lbs.

  • my brit is a complete nut. if I dont give here hours of exercise daily she gets pissed and becomes so bitchy

  • I want to get one of these for Christmas

  • They are VERY good dogs! I STRONGLY recommend them :-) If you want more info on them, I have quite a lot so feel free

  • Cool cause I want one for Christmas. do you know if they will fetch like a tennis ball or anything cause when I throw a ball to my dog he just lays on the couch

  • Well I know that for my dog when she got older she wouldn't fetch, but when she was young she was willing to fetch the ball. Except, (I don't know if this is for every brittany spaniel) but my dog liked to be chased when she had the toy or ball in her mouth

  • i got a puppy britany for x-mas and hes so cool

  • @ClaireBear861 mine too.. lol

  • they love for you to throw a ball but after you throw they usually want you to chase them

  • Brittany's are amazing dogs, very affectionate, and the sounds they make are so sweet

  • i hate the black man. were even!

  • @letthatchainhangmang dude u just offended me like heck I have had 16 brittany spaniels in my life including 10 puppies omfg u are being reported

  • @elementknight- hah. video games don't teach spelling huh? loser

  • @letthatchainhangmang MAYBE THEY HATE YOU!!! :(

  • baxter!!!!

  • do they shed alot?

  • Oh yeah, they'll shed; make no mistake about that.

  • But they do shed less than many breeds. (I own a Brittany--very sweet dog, but you do need to exercise them a lot.) Oddly, several of the most popular breeds are much bigger shedders, like German Shepherd.

  • i had 3 gun dogs once and all were brittanys. they are natural hunters, now one died and i have a male and female. the male doesnt stop running and loooves to hunt

  • My grandpa had a Brittany Spaniel. His name was Chaser, he was a really great dog; all us grandkids just loved him. But over 15 years ago, my grandfather had to put him to sleep. Needless to say, I was really upset at that.

  • mines a psycho

  • There is nothing like a Britt. After our first one passed away I thought it would be a long time before I could even think about another but it was only about 4 months before I contacted the breeder and said "put us on the list, we need a Britt"

  • i have one named ginger (cause she is the orange and white color) and she is 6 yrs old and still acts like a pup

  • i named mine ginger too!

  • I have a light coloured 8 year old female named pebbles :) :)

  • So no one caught it yet! Look at the dog they give as an example of an orange and white Brittany - it's not. It's a Welsh Springer Spaniel -

  • It is!!! I thought it looked totally un-Brittany like when I watched the vid, but it didn't occur to me until I read your comment that it was a Welsh Springer Spaniel (cuz I was only thinking about Brittanys)!

  • I've been involved in dogs and dog shows for 45 years. In the last 10 it's been Brittanys all the way. They are such great family dogs, great size, fun energy but can calm down if exercised and easy keepers. I love my Brittanys and enjoyed this clip. (thanks Buzz the Narrator)

  • thumbs up i have a Brittany named Colet and she is a fireball and not a day goes by where i dnt have fun she always does something funny and a hell of a hunter im hooked for life

  • The Brittany is a breed of gun dog primarily bred for bird hunting.

  • brittany spaniels are sooo cute, i have one of my own!!!

  • i like brittanys but i still like my springer spaniels better.

  • nice ...

  • The guy in this video, Dave Jones would be an excellent choice if you were looking for a Brittany. He is a great guy and really knows the bread. He is in Texas if the video did not already say so. I some experience with him and know first hand.

  • Its good to know he knows the bread...lmao

    (its breed)

  • wow, i didn't know all that.

    XD

    and i've got a brittny

  • i got one and love him to death but would someone please tell me how to make them come to you on command. he's been getting lucky with his escape artist tricks out of our fence lately. any suggestions

  • I have had two Brittany's over the years, and planning on getting another this fall, and they will run off cause they get distracted very easily. In general I would start with regular training using a food reinforcement and a positive verbal and touching reinforcement. Over time remove the food reinforcement and simply praise the dog and give it a pat when it comes. If he gets out though, they are really food driven, have a treat in hand and call him, maybe even tell him its dinner time.

  • Very simply here is how I did it. Put the dog on a long lead. You can get them at most gun dog store. Look for a "check cord". Tell the dog to come and then pull him in. Do it over and over. When he starts doing it on his own give him a treat each time. It was that easy for me and she was flawless at it. Although, in the field I did use an e collar but not to teach her. Just the check cord.

  • We had a Britt named Ginger. Got her at 6 mos old. She WAS tge smartest dog ever. We lived on a tiny island, Kwajalien, and all she had to hunt were geckos and crabs. She had a lot of fun doing it. We had her for 13yrs. Miss her so much! A lot of fun times with her on Kwaj.

  • I have a brittany!!! his name is jack. i got him when i was 7 years old so he is a really special dog

  • We had a brittany spaniel a long long time ago, and I got to name her (daphne off of Look who's talking now) because my name was Brittany too!!! I always wondered why she was always attacking birds in the back yard all the time, now I know!!!!

  • I have a brittany... his name is duke and he looks JUST like the first dog

    xo

  • I had a brittany/chow mix growing up.

Her name was Shadow. But we got her when I was in 10th grade, so she's still kicking.

Lots of people still mistake her for a puppy lol!

  • i have one her name is sydney i love her ssssssssoooooo much but she gets annoying at times

  • OMG those are the sickest dog ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have a brittany spaniel/spitz mix. They are so adorable.

  • Great vid. I own a ten-month-old Brit, and he's a wonderful dog, everyone who meets him wants to know about the breed, they're fairly rare here. One this not mentioned is that Brit's are a great size, too. They're not small dogs, but they are usually small enough to be carried if need be. They can also be quite intense, temperament wise!

  • my name is brittny!!!!! :)

  • Brittany;s are great dogs. I knew people that breed them and took great care of them. If I were to get a dog it would be a brittany

  • ....well, there's my Brittany, Smooth's Romeo Boy, first up in this video (the snow scene) and being trained by a pro in the indoor training center, as of now, he is a tireless quail finder, my hunting partner, my best friend!

  • my brittany nero died and went to heaven today. he was 14. the most loyal and beautiful friend i ever had :(

  • Comment removed

  • @daddy12345 according to my religion teacher dogs don't go to heaven :(

  • @woa11 Then tell your teacher, I like many others don't want to go to heaven, I'll happily go wherever my dog went.

  • @woa11 man fuck yo teacher

  • i love my brittany!!

  • Im gettin one tomorrow!

  • great concise video, Animal Planet is the best!

  • Love it
