Predators like tigers and and herbivoes like gaurs don't know lucky they are to be in zoos. It's very peaceful (though sometimes very dull), they get three square meals a day, they get good care by the zookeppers, and there's no fear of getting killed so they can live to a ripe old age.

Tigers do hunt gaurs and have killed them, but have been injured or killed by them too. A tiger could not kill an elephant. Indian elephants are smaller and not as fierce as African elephants but are too big for a tiger to bring down by itself. I saw on YouTube a female african elephant fight off 8 lions. Like other big cats, tigers do not have much endurance. It would struggle with an elephant and get crushed in the process.

The 2 animals have distinct characters and preside in different terrain. Both animals are very strong and you should not play down one for the other. My favourite animals are the Rhino and the Elephant (2 of the largest herbivores on Earth) so as you can see I am not a Tiger fan who is protecting its animal. I do like tigers but I have never been a huge fan of carnivores, I like some of them. I just feel it is my duty as someone with extensive experience to lay out the truth of certain matters for intelligent and dedicated people to know. Btw, Polar Bears and Kodiak Bears rank in my top 20 ;).
That doesn't mean a Polar Bear or a Kodiak Bear can't kill a Tiger but if I had to choose I would put my money on the Bengal or Siberian Tiger with chances of killing the bear 7 times out of 10. The Polar and Kodiak Bear would definitely kill a Sumatran Tiger easily as well as a South China and Malayan Tiger but would struggle against an Indochinese Tiger.

It all depends on who attacks first you see. A throat bite is a throat bite, once that's in there is no going back. Polar bears swing at tigers though and I guess tigers would prefer not to swing at a Bear but just attack them. I have seen Bengal Tigers kill Sloth Bears relatively easily and sloth bears are the most aggressive type of bear because they attack immediately without thinking. I have seen tigers being wounded by sloth bears but I have seen sloth bears get killed by tigers.

You have no video proof show me a video of a tiger beating a lion. Usually the lion comes on top 80 percent of the time according to youtube. You also stated that a Polar bear can kill and drag a 4000lbs (1814 kgs) Walrus. Well tigers have killed and dragged Bull Gaurs weighing up to 2000 kgs (4409lbs) which has been confirmed. Also Polar bears will rarely kill a 4000lb Walrus but a tiger will frequently hunt Gaurs.
Tiger will frequently hunt gaurs, but I bet most of the time they will go for the females and calves. Although solitary male gaurs who don't have the protection of the herd may be quite vulnerable to ambushes as well, especially if they're injured or sick.
According to Rickson, a tiger can drag a gaur over 4000 lbs. If this is true (which it totally absurd), it should not have any problem with this gaur which isan't that big. You can tell ti has problems dragging this gaur.

Pound for pound a lion has the greatest amount of muscle to body weight of ANY animal. Sorry. Tigers are good hunters, but lions are better fighters and wn in most encounters. Tigers know this. They know who the king is. And a large Cape Buffalo will be about a ton 2000 lbs. I've seen vid's of lions eating an elephant carcass, but it didn't mean the elephant was killed by the lion because it wasn't shown.....Same for this vid.

Gaurs are the most agressive and dangerous of all the wild cattle. They are also the biggest and strongest of all the wild cattle. It takes a pride of lions to take down a Bull Bufallo, yet it takes a lone Tiger to take down a Bull Gaur. Also Cape Bufallo kill more Lions than any other animal in Africa. There has been TWO recorded cases of Gaurs killing a Tiger after a failed hunt. Lions rule??, don't make me laugh.

The only thing this video shows is a tiger feeding off a dead female gaur. Tigers have been known to kill gaurs but also have been known to be killed by gaurs, particularly a large bull. Notice the tiger does not have the strength to drag this small gaur away. A Polar bear can drag a 4000 lb walrus.

Lioness yes.. but Male Lions have and can take down adult buffalos by them self. but it have to be whne the buffalo is lost or just is alone with out the group becouse else the group will help it. and a male lion is no chance a aginst a buffalo group of 30-40 or more. and Tigers have killed adult guars they ''say'' but its rare. it would probably be borthers that took it down together.

nothing comes to buffalo's anger. i give credit to tiger's amazing hunting skills. they easily kill crocs, even in shallow water. that's a lot of skills.
however, i wouldn't put a full grown male tiger vs a full grown male lion. for easy reason. i love both of these anymals enormously. Tigers are made for hunting. Lions (male) for fighting. Yes, the tiger is bigger than lions in most cases, but size doesn't matter when you have heart to fight.

Wrong! The Tiger fights just as the Lion does. I also like both of these animals but as you have said a Tiger is very skilled when it comes to killing adversary. A Lion (in most cases) would be no match for the Tiger and MOST animal experts agree. Agility, larger, more powerful, intelligent and can swipe with both paws at the same time unlike the Lion. Yes, a Lion has courage and would be more up for the fight as its in its nature. But if forced to, the Tiger would Kill it 8/10.

Predators like tigers and and herbivoes like gaurs don't know lucky they are to be in zoos. It's very peaceful (though sometimes very dull), they get three square meals a day, they get good care by the zookeppers, and there's no fear of getting killed so they can live to a ripe old age.

Tigers do hunt gaurs and have killed them, but have been injured or killed by them too. A tiger could not kill an elephant. Indian elephants are smaller and not as fierce as African elephants but are too big for a tiger to bring down by itself. I saw on YouTube a female african elephant fight off 8 lions. Like other big cats, tigers do not have much endurance. It would struggle with an elephant and get crushed in the process.

My favourite animals are the Rhino and the Elephant (2 of the largest herbivores on Earth) so as you can see I am not a Tiger fan who is protecting its animal. I do like tigers but I have never been a huge fan of carnivores, I like some of them. I just feel it is my duty as someone with extensive experience to lay out the truth of certain matters for intelligent and dedicated people to know. Btw, Polar Bears and Kodiak Bears rank in my top 20 ;).

That doesn't mean a Polar Bear or a Kodiak Bear can't kill a Tiger but if I had to choose I would put my money on the Bengal or Siberian Tiger with chances of killing the bear 7 times out of 10. The Polar and Kodiak Bear would definitely kill a Sumatran Tiger easily as well as a South China and Malayan Tiger but would struggle against an Indochinese Tiger.

It all depends on who attacks first you see. A throat bite is a throat bite, once that's in there is no going back. Polar bears swing at tigers though and I guess tigers would prefer not to swing at a Bear but just attack them. I have seen Bengal Tigers kill Sloth Bears relatively easily and sloth bears are the most aggressive type of bear because they attack immediately without thinking. I have seen tigers being wounded by sloth bears but I have seen sloth bears get killed by tigers.

The polar bear is definitely the biggest carnivore on the planet no doubt but in a fight with a Male Bengal or Siberian tiger things wouldn't be so easy for the bear. I have studied animals all my life and I have a PhD in Veterinary Medicine, as well as in Zoology. I speak from experience as I had the opportunity to observe and study the behaviour of all kinds of mammals in various parts of the world. Tigers are the most ferocious and strong carnivore, apex predators I have ever seen.

Tigers rarely attack large male gaurs becaise they often kill the tigers. The tiger in this video is feeding on a rather small female gaur. The tiger seems to have a tough time dragging it. A polar bear, by contrast, can kill and drag a 4000 lb walrus. The tiger is a mighty predator but some prople fantasize on it being alot mightier than it is.

Males tigers would prefer a bigger prey like a Buffalo or Gaur if possible compared to a deer, in Nagarahole where the Gaur population is stable, tigers frequently hunt them.

There are video's of lioness' hunting Cape buffalo cows singly....so what is your point?...I disagree with anyone who says tigers are better at anything than a lion because I was brought up with that propaganda, and then the facts contradicted the propaganda. A lion was shot in a local zoo while killing an adult siberian tiger. In the '80's tigers were extremely rare, and more expensve.
I saw this lion at feeding time and it was huge.

The case was real, and lions are wired different than tigers. What do u say when u watch a lion body-slam a male tiger of equal size like on on of my favorites? Not too strange really, lions dominate tigers as a rule....it's their nature. Lions don't listen to the 'experts'.
Jaguars now?..they used to say leopards pound for pound.....guess everyone has their favorite, and naturally everyone's favorite is the strongest, but Asian lions dominate the 'larger' Siberian Tigers in captivity..

i hav also heard that caspian tigers won against larger barbarianl lions. this doesn mean that lions are weaker. this just depends on individual tigers aand lions. so it is 50/50.

Tigers are stronger than lions. They're bigger - an adult male Bengal Tiger can weigh upwards of 440 pounds, compared to an adult male Lion - around 260 to 300 pounds.
Face it. Deny it all you like - sure, maybe every once in a while a big lion might beat up a small tiger, but in a real fight? Two full grown animals, a lion and a tiger, the tiger will win every single time.

..cont....Books say lions get up to 420 pounds,...that is false. Lions reach well over 500 pounds in the wild. A lion shot in INDIA was weighed in at 690 lbs. (when they were there in larger numbers) These huge weights are common enough....(if you can shoot one, must be others). At a local zoo a lion (african male) launched into the Siberian tiger's pen,(mistake of zookeepers) and had a fatal hold on a 6 year old adult Siberian Tiger. The zookeepers shot the lion because tigers cost more..

Gazelle you stated that large male Gaurs OFTEN kill tigers. Fact is there is only two recorded cases of tigers being killed by Bull Gaurs in a failed hunt.
You also stated that a Polar bear can kill and drag a 4000lbs (1814 kgs) Walrus. Well tigers have killed and dragged Bull Gaurs weighing up to 2000 kgs (4409lbs) which has been confirmed. Also Polar bears will rarely kill a 4000lb Walrus but a tiger will frequently hunt Gaurs.

Tiger will frequently hunt gaurs, but I bet most of the time they will go for the females and calves. Although solitary male gaurs who don't have the protection of the herd may be quite vulnerable to ambushes as well, especially if they're injured or sick.

According to Rickson, a tiger can drag a gaur over 4000 lbs. If this is true (which it totally absurd), it should not have any problem with this gaur which isan't that big. You can tell ti has problems dragging this gaur.

Pound for pound a lion has the greatest amount of muscle to body weight of ANY animal. Sorry. Tigers are good hunters, but lions are better fighters and wn in most encounters. Tigers know this. They know who the king is. And a large Cape Buffalo will be about a ton 2000 lbs. I've seen vid's of lions eating an elephant carcass, but it didn't mean the elephant was killed by the lion because it wasn't shown.....Same for this vid.

having tons of muscles and winning in a death fight r totally different. tigers r greater hunters, hve greater speed, stamina n flexibility. having more muscles won't win a fight btwn these two titans. its all about "dead or alive" concentration. and sorry but lions DO NOT have them. group hunters tend to give up easily, and rely on one another. tigers r sole hunters, they only rely on themselves or be killed. its the mentality tigers have that lions don't. and they are killing machines

sorry but if you come across a video or some factual footage or documentation of a lion ACTUALLY winning any fight against a tiger...i would LOVE to see them. all the vids and facts on google & youtube CLEARLY point out that tigers will kill lions....even two at the same time if they wanted to. tigers are much MUCH better fighters and are so much focused than lions. i duno wut u r basing your "lion king rules all" on but tigers own lions. demonstrated and known FACT thruout the world dude...

Cape buffalo are more agressive and dangerous than the 'larger' Guar, and there are videos of a lioness bringing down an adult Cape buffalo cow, and of a lone male lion bringing down an adult buffalo...

Gaurs are the most agressive and dangerous of all the wild cattle. They are also the biggest and strongest of all the wild cattle. It takes a pride of lions to take down a Bull Bufallo, yet it takes a lone Tiger to take down a Bull Gaur. Also Cape Bufallo kill more Lions than any other animal in Africa. There has been TWO recorded cases of Gaurs killing a Tiger after a failed hunt. Lions rule??, don't make me laugh.

Tiger activity is far more difficult to record than lions, because lions do their thing in the open. If there are 2 'recorded' cases of tigers being killed by Gaurs, u can count on there being far more undocumented killings of tigers. Lions being killed by Cape buffalo is rare, but yes it happens. Usually cub and lioness. Cmon. Quit this 'it takes a lone tiger" nonsense. Show me a vid. There is a video of a LONE Male lion taking down a lone adult Bull Cape buffalo......and.

...and lions have more mouths to feed....so they wil predate on Cape Buffalo more regularly...and therefore, will have more accidents. Lions are bolder.
I used to think it was just because of the mane that gave the lion title of king of beasts, but after comparing to tigers and other wild cats, I can see why even a maneless lion is still king of beasts.

Have you ever heard of a pride of tigers?. Fact is tigers are lone hunters and take down larger prey than lions do. Also hyenas show no respect to lions in africa because they always force lions of their kill. Do your research before you cliam that cape buffalo are more aggressive than the bull gaur. Bull gaur would crush a cape buffalo with ease so who has the harder task?

Who cares whether a tiger hunts alone or with a group, the point is lions have a more dangerous existence, and are more wild,...less apt to train like tigers. Hyeanas will with sheer numbers run off a group of lionesses, but when a male lion is around they will give up their prey, no matter how many ther are 'cause they know a male will kill them just because of their audacity. A tiger would get the same result? maybe worse, probable treed,. Seen a couple of medium sized dogs chase a tiger.

HaHaHa. Where do you get your information from?. Gaurs are known for their volatile temper and put that with their size and strength and that makes them more dangerous than any Cape buffalo.

Indian Bison (Gaur): 1000kg - 2000kg

It's no matter trying to convince lion fans about tiger's size or strength. The obviously have their own records to deal with. So let them speak about the brave lion bla bla bla, that can scare bad and evil hyeannas (that is a commemorable achievment for Guiness book of records).
A tiger is the biggest and the strongest of cats, a true king of jungle.
Lion is huge in size for hyeannas or leopards, but he is like a cub in front of Amur tiger

Gaurs are known to kill tigers as well. A full grown gaur is a serious threat to a tiger.

The only thing this video shows is a tiger feeding off a dead female gaur. Tigers have been known to kill gaurs but also have been known to be killed by gaurs, particularly a large bull. Notice the tiger does not have the strength to drag this small gaur away. A Polar bear can drag a 4000 lb walrus.
