do you live someplace where you see stars? we haven't seen them where i live in the rainforest since one nught back in 1957.
PS check out the globular cluster galaxy at the tip of orion's sword, super cool, you can even see it with a good pair of binos. the one star your see with a nekkid eye turns into a 100,000 star gALAXY.

Yeah, I'm looking at a CCD camera, I am going to get a barlow first though.

Thats a pretty sweet rig you have!
I became obsessed with astronomy when the Hale-Bopp comet passed by in '97.
But computers became my real passion about 3 years later...so I never really got passed looking at the sky with anything other than a shitty Toys-r-Us telescope...
Still follow some astronomy magazines every now and then: something you might find interesting is CCD webcam photography.
For a (relatively) low amount spent you can get some pretty kick-ass pictures.
