I was 12 years old when this was released. At the time I wasn't sure why I was drawn to the music and artistry of Ashford and Simpson...I just knew it satisfied something deep inside. I started listening to my father's older A&S albums and within months I was a full on stalker! I loved their singles, but it was the more obscure stuff that got my attention. I credit Nicholas and Valerie for planting the seed that everntually allowed me to become a composer and arranger. God bless them both.

Devastated by this loss. I have admired and loved them for years. At the VH1 DIva LIve Tribute to Diana Ross I got to tell them about my deep admiration for them as songwriters, singers and good human beings. I am so pained that I have not heard anything from Valerie Simpson. Millions of her fans keep her close to our hearts. I got to sing their songs in a tribute to Berry Gordy and he loved my performance. His remarks were powerful. He symbolically inducted me into the Motown Family.

This couples are the true legends of writers. They wrote music for Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, and many others. You will never find music like this ever ever again. They wrote music like "aint no mountain high enough", "I'm every woman" on and on. They wrote music about "love" and sang it on stage from American Bandstand, Solid Gold and Soul Train. They really loved each other and you can tell when they shared that love to their audience. We will miss you and continue to listen their music.
