yea i think it's applicable to all styles. if i could only have two fingers on my fretting hand it would be index and pinky. i can cover the most ground that way with the least amount of effort.

playing with three fingers on fretting hand as a bass player is a little nutty to me. it would be like if i was an english major but never used any adjectives. i'd be rather limited, right?
