  • F1 > INDY CAR > ALMS > NASCAR. NASCAR i think they need more tracks like this. That's why its are really hit on by people they need more tracks with more than left turns.. and that why Americans are getting hit on as well. because of NASCAR.

  • My god, I truly do miss the good days of the ALMS, now the series is so pathetic, they cant even produce 5 P1 cars for a single race today. Now they just throw in this stupid GTC category just to fill the field.

  • they are not fast enough !!!

  • I happed that ALMS have techly race cars

  • ALMS needs to go back to this track, instead of adding more stupid ass street races like OKC

  • That lola was so fast in a straight line!

  • ALMS is absolutely BRILLIANT! It has just got everything you want in motorsport, extremely more entertaining, and the competitiveness is unequaled, seriously looking forward to the 2011 season....

  • The Field Family has been a big part of RoadRacing for a long time!

  • That Audi TDI sound makes me do a sex wee!!!

  • MAN ON A MISSION

  • Every type of le mans racing is fantastic and more entertaining than f1 ever will be, from an f1 fan!

  • @Natty7478 This season has been a bit more interesting though!

  • @Natty7478 True that!! F1 is becoming unwatchable because of the damn rules

  • what an amazing start by Audi!

This is why le mans is the best racing sport out there. Having 4 different classes on the same track is just awesome!

And I'm really looking forward to saturday june 12th when the 24 heures du mans starts! :D

  • Jon Field is the man on the starts!

  • That Intersport-Lola was sure going fa-diddly-ast in that early bit. Great start of a race! Love ALMS!!! Le Mans racing beats all other forms of racing (except maybe Formula 1 and Indycar) :D

  • @RaceKing62 Le Mans is the king! It's at the moment much better than IndyCar and Formula One. IndyCar would be the king of the Penske/Ganassi domination completely ends and the cars are not the same. Formula One would be king if there were no limits to the cars, kill the 2.4L V8's for the 3.5L V10's and V12's, remove Bernie Ecclestone, bring back the great circuits like: Zandvoort, Brands Hatch, old Hockenheim, A1 Ring, Dijon-Prenois etc.

  • @ffmotorsports51 that about sums it up right there. ALMS and ROLEX ALL DAY..

  • Jon's one of the most talented drivers in ALMS, too bad he's probably close to retirement (55). I wish Clint has the talent his dad has right now, but hey that might come soon (hopefully).

  • Twin Turbo AER Power!

  • those cars are pretty fast 245 mph i think

  • max speed on this track is most likely closer to 190 on the pit straight

  • more like 200

  • awesome ! 5/5

  • field bros are the best...they should have a better car...

  • Jon and Clint are father and son - Joe hasn't driven in ages, not even sure he is a part of the team anymore. Good man though!

  • you're right...sorry...however i think they are still together in the team and at the wheel

  • John Field is the best at starting off races. Bull rushes right on up.

  • Yup, he iz the best starter in the ALMS. Be cool to see him in a peugeot or audi.

  • Lola chassis are one of the best prototypes there are, lola aston for one will be good cars to watch but cant compete with the TDI's

  • Who was the idiot that came up with the rule to add more weight to the P2 cars. You finally get the best prototype racing seince the GTP era and you screw it up for 2009!

  • Look at the bright side, GT2 is gonna be great this year. :)

  • Yep, has been so far.

  • yea. the owner of ALMS is considering bringing the old rules back for next year

  • That would be awesome!

  • afaik P1 and P2 will merge next season, and they will try to make them competitive to each other again.

I hope they will also allow all GT3 cars to enter the series, instead of just Cup Porsches as it was last season.

  • This is a world-class racing. Unfortunately there's nothing similar around here. :(

  • Best race 2008

  • i was so hoping that jon field would maintain position. i watched it live and unfortunatly shortly after this video ends the car retires. i love the privateer vs. factory battle. the little guy vs. bully. duncan dayton 3 years ago was in the same position. now he runs patron highcroft. best racing now days. go see your local alms race!

  • @roadamerica30 man It took that team balls to go up against audi like that. too bad it didn't last...

  • I thought this was Le Mans

  • It is the American Le Mans Series.

  • Who knows the song at the beginning

  • the hives - well all right

  • WHOA thanks so much

  • Hey HitanApex1 question which ALMS start was better 2007 or 2008?

  • Excellent footage, pls more of this :) ALMS is real racing.

  • I think ALMS has the best racing. Its exciting not like nascar and F1. (I like F1 hate nascar)The series just needs to promote it better. Hopefully it will reach the star status that Group C reached.

  • ALMS spanks Nascar.

  • @brydon189 ALL DAY ERR DAY!!!

  • I love how the Lola AER driver was having none of this Audi 1,2 crap, hehe.

  • His name is Jon Field and he always is bullet at the start of the race. Maybe even better then James Weaver at the start of race.

  • anyone know the song at the beginning?

  • excellent video. i love that track. any more?

  • The #37 Intersport Racing Lola B06/10 AER won in LMP1 after Audi's troubles in the 2008 Detroit Sports Car Challenge presented by Bosch on August 30, 2008.

  • Excellent race, though I beg you to edit better, the ending is too abrupt. But keep posting ALMS stuff, thanks

  • what is that song the play at the beginning

  • I was there haha, :24 is the car i work on woo! I'm only 16 too. =]

  • Go Mr.Feild! He's my friends dad.

  • Audi first are losing to Peugeot in LeMans Series. Now the Lola is taking it them. Go Jon Field and Intersport.

  • That's because Audi does not care about anything else except for the 24 hours of le mans unfortunately.

  • what about DTM?

  • DTM has no relation to Le Mans racing. Audi does indeed put some effort into that, but the previous comment was meant more towards the R10 program. The R10 was indeed built SOLELY to win Le Mans. That it can even challenge these other cars, most of which(especially the LMP2s) are far more suited to tight twisty tracks, is amazing. Even Audi admits to being pleasantly surprised by it, and its why they never really got bothered if they fail to take the overall win so long as they get the class win

  • Oh I know Audi really impressed me at Mid Ohio. They're most likely building a new car for le mans next year, so Peugeot better watch their backs. Whenever Audi builds a new prototype, watch out!

  • I don't think they'll be building a new Prototype for next year. I've heard the rumors, but I don't see it. They're getting stiff competition from Peugeot but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They'll be spending 2009 making sure their new LMP1 for 2010(when they'll HAVE to have one) is as good as it can possibly be. I do expect their Le Mans win streak to be interrupted next year, but I guarantee they'll be willing to take that hit to perfect their next LMP.

  • The 908 has been kicking the R10's ass though in the LMS and they were definitely faster at le mans and at Sebring. Also the Pug's are coming to Road Atlanta, so we get another rematch! I wouldn't be surprised if they're already working on a new one. We'll see I guess though.

  • The 908 is going to be running the Petit Le Mans? Hadn't heard that. I know they Peugeots are winning in the LMS, but Audi hasn't focused very hard on that.

  • Yep 2 908s for Petit.

  • Another duel of the diesels... Should be interesting. Maybe I'll have my cable upgrade(gotta upgrade my service before next IndyCar season - need to get Versus) so I can see ALL the ALMS events. I lazed out on upgrading because I'm primarily an open-wheel fan and since I was able to catch ALL of the new season of unified IndyCar I didn't worry about upgrading. Now I have to do so because unlike most cable services, I don't get Versus on my standard service.

  • I used to be a big open wheel fan until Tony George took over :(

  • I'm very wary of having TG in charge - I always preferred CART/Champ Car. But in the last few years of the war it became clear he'd realized that CART's race formula was the way to go. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He has until 2011(when all issues interfering with implementation of CART/Champ Car tracks have been resolved and we see the new car) to prove he's willing to do what the fans want.

On that note... ALMS at Burke Lakefront Airport is a VERY appealing concept.

  • Oh yeah two races for me to go to lol! I really felt bad for the people at Panoz after only having their car used for 1 season. That was a nice car too.

  • No worries - When Panoz/Elan Motorsprot Technologies won the chassis contract for the Superleague Formula, they used the DP-01 Champ Car as a base. The SF car is barely any different aside from mods to allow it to hold a natural-aspiration engine.

I honestly believe the DP-01 being cheaper to operate scared Tony George into making an the irresistable offer for the unification.

  • it definitely was the best race of the season so far. Can't wait until Lemans.

  • GO FIELD!!!!!!!!!

  • i thought this race had the best action ive seen all year
