songs real funn to play live if your in a cover band, people may not even know the song, but it gets everyone moving in one fashion or another, great song
For me the Apollo gig was the peak for Korn. They'd done their heaviest/craziest paying-their-dues albums. Then the 'poppy' breakout album. Then they pulled it together for Issues and promoted it, before its release, at the Apollo - first white band to be there since Buddy Holly or some shit (look it up, I cant remem.). It's a small setting so they arent jumping around & far apart but just looking cool as shit and grooving together. Great album.
@Neckromorph Yes, as in having radio-friendly songs which spread beyond their fan base into the mainstream. Any band that has verse-chorus-verse-chorus songs, especially on Mtv, contains pop elements. Not necessarily a bad thing either..
I can agree with you there. I've always viewed the verse-chorus structure as a mainstream thing, but Follow The Leader still had Korn's unique style so I've never really considered it being a breakout to mainstream album. It's actually one of my favorite Korn albums (maybe my favorite).
@Neckromorph Yea, you basically have to adapt somewhat to the style of the times/culture (so that people can digest it) but at the same time make it unique. Korn did that on many levels, and FTL certainly presented that in a special way. I like a lot of indiv. song on Issues too, but I can detect on certain songs them kinda wondering 'Ok, where do we go from here?'
Yeah there is one. I think it's a bit of help for JD because at this show they were presenting the new album (issues) and they played the full album from song 1 -> 16. So it's a little hard for every lyric to remember :)
i had this dvd and i lost it :( KoRn is the reason i got into music, i used to be obsessed with these guys, still got Heads guitar pic tho! its one of my most prized possessions
One of the few bands that sound just as good, if not better, live as they do recorded. They did some of my fav songs at the apollo in 99....... wish I could have been there!
@hetfield024 The album had just been released; and it was a quick production. It was probably hard for him to have remembered the lyrics to an entire album that had only been made a short while ago.
Jonathan was quoted as saying "Daddy is a nickname that I have for myself, this song is sort of like a message to myself". The song references depression and medication mostly.
@TheBigDickInYourAss I'm gay? funnily enough your name is about a dick in someones ass, and due to your gayish nature, its probably your dad's ass. you sick fuck,
@q8y4ever90 Inaccurate, most of his songs are about drugs, depression, people, being bullied, and the world. I dont know where you got the assumption that all of his songs deal with his dad raping him lol.
lol are you fucking stupid brah, give me some fucking facts right now. This song isnt about his dad raping him im tired of you panized headed fucks act like you know what your talking about JD was raped by a family freind which was a WOMEN. go back to 2nd grade and get a blues clue pal.
@TBrown945 deadbylove is right, his dad didn't rape him, he said so on a interview. the song is about his parents not believing him when he told them that a family friend raped him (who was a women but name not reveal by jon)
I always thought this song was about his son being born. Thats what i interepeted the title as. The song daddy off their 1st album is a bout a family neighbor molesting him & his parents did nothing bout it nor wanted to listen to him.
Actually I heard otherwise it was about a different band member not JD as I am guessing in the first album. Heard this from a guy I knew in the Arny who saw them several times, partied with them as did not go big time at that ime. No matter what who when where and why-if I ever knew of a crime that people should die for when not commiting murder-that would be the one I would vote for
@daveme7 no its definately jon. He told his mother and she said she didnt care. And she already knew, she saw it with her own eyes. Jon had a fucked up childhood for real. Thats where all the power in this band comes from.
I went to this concert limited tickets which I bought 2 out of 250 from Krock's Radio station in NYC listening party for Korns record release party. A lot of people dont know that among the celeb's to see this concert was. Chris Rock, Busta Rhymes and more. Apollo is not known for rock concerts but It was a last minute decision by Korn to have this and The Apollo was the only venue available that night.
@zydrate0adict by farrrrrrrrrrrrr its the best album i have fucking heard in my fucking life... Im not an obssesed fan of the bands I like, but Issues was by far the best
Yeah i know ot all of his songs are about his dad raping him... I never knew it was about a meth addiction.. It seems to me that it is about his daD sexually abusing him because of the title
the concept of this song is so freaky. its basically about schizophrenia and hallucinating that people are there to hurt you but they don't really exist...
I've been a Korn fan for 11 years and I'm finally going to go see them in Columbus on May 16th at Rock On The Range. They're fucking gods!! I'm glad they're still around in some form after all these years.

alot of people agree and disagree but i really really like the back up singers in this and trash...the back ups would sound sick if korn had like a marching song i guess would be the best way to put it. great song and performance
Yeah they need to hire them and can Kalen Chase's sorry ass. I saw them live in TN and Kalen fucked all theyre songs up. He sounded so gay. Like a dying chicken
yeah he has a telaprompter live because i guess he has some memory issues from drinking and doing drugs heavily back in the early days of the band before he got sober

alot of people agree and disagree but i really really like the back up singers in this and trash...the back ups would sound sick if korn had like a marching song i guess would be the best way to put it. great song and performance
TrashedClown 3 years ago
who are doing the backing vocals??And why are they "cutting" out the "fucks"?
skytyler 3 years ago
because it was being streamed straight 2 radio stations across the world
WINNR666 3 years ago
HA! They took it out when JD says it, but not in the (pre recorded) backing vocals.
lordessoftherings 3 years ago
they are not prerecorded. There are actually two guys in the back doing the backing vocals
fercho2040 3 years ago

lordessoftherings 3 years ago 2
Yeah they need to hire them and can Kalen Chase's sorry ass. I saw them live in TN and Kalen fucked all theyre songs up. He sounded so gay. Like a dying chicken

yeah he has a telaprompter live because i guess he has some memory issues from drinking and doing drugs heavily back in the early days of the band before he got sober
Everly1388 3 years ago
well they had like 50 songs at that time. so they prolly blend together sometimes.
1jaredjacobs 3 years ago
Jerry Garcia never used a teleprompter...
