  • The epitome of the fast-food culture.

  • He looks like Marty Mcfly (Back to the Future) XD

  • So yeah, i've played a few of these guitars. not really all that impressed...or impressed at all to be honest. they look cool, but i've found that the sound lacks a little...and by a little i mean a lot. and they can be a little uncomfortable to play to be honest.

  • Hi, Im wondering if mexican made strats are worth the money? Any comments?

  • @soljin3 Yes.. Unless you've been playing a long time you won't even notice the difference between a Mexican or American strat.

  • SHUT UP GUYS AND STOP ARGUING!

sweet jesus! Does it even matter?

    SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • Buying a road worn guitars is stupid.

Get brand new guitar, play it for 30 years and you will have your own worn down guitar which you could then say "wow look at the years this guitar has been through"

A brand new guitar that is made to look old is fake.

  • these guitars are a terrible idea. you should put your own scratches and dents or whatevr into it yourself.

  • HEY DOC! wheres the DeLorean?

  • I Played One Of These Guitars!!! It Has No Balls!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 I don't think I've ever heard anyone saying a Strat has balls to begin with ..that's like, Humbucker equipped guitars you should look into. Maybe with some drive a strat could have "balls," actually I've played a ton of strats that can be considered SOMEWHAT ballsy, but they're pretty much everything else. Throw a humbucker in..there's your balls.

  • @DylanBStringer91

    Holy fuck, it's you again.

Look. I've seen you going about on Fender videos, saying they're shit and stuff. But what are you trying to do? Do you seriously think that you alone are going to single-handedly stop sales of Fender guitars? People will still buy them, no matter what your personal opinions of them are.

Also, as for the no balls thing - check this video. Strats have plenty of balls, fucker, it's all in the amp you use.

    /watch?v=HiPsSgEE7ME

  • @EJRocky I Watched That Video, It's A Squire Guitar He was Playing!!! The Video Was Called "Fender Stratocaster Can't Do Metal"!!! You Fail!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91

Who cares what bloody brand it is? It's still a Stratocaster. Three single coils, vintage bridge... then again, you seem too stupid to look past the brand name. Honestly, you write like an overexcited three year old.

Okay, if that's the way you wanna play - US Fender Stratocaster, with heavy distortion. Skip to 0:40.

    /watch?v=wcPtQ5s89Rs

  • @EJRocky It Is A Fender Stratocaster, But Those Aren't The Original Pickups!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91

And how the fuck do you know? Shit, I looked on the video, through the comments... no mention of a pickup change whatsoever.

You are too much of an idiot for words.

  • @EJRocky Here Is How I Know, I've Played Many Fender Strats And I Know Alot About Them!!! When You Use The Bridge, Middle Or Neck Pickups By Themselves, They Hum!!! When You Use Bridge + Middle Or Middle + Neck, They Don't Hum!!! So He Either Installed Noisless Pickups Or Seymour Duncan Pickups!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91

Jesus christ, you write like a complete retard. What's with all the capitals?

What the fuck ever, mister know-it-all. You know a lot about Strats? My fucking arse you do, mate. You just say you do because you're trying to make yourself look like an expert.

I don't care, I've got better things to do than argue with some moron over the internet.

  • @EJRocky I Win!!! What You Replied Had Nothing To Do With Fender Stratocasters!!! You Are Just Talking Crap To Me Because You Were Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!!! You Were Trying To Show Me That Fender Stratocasters Can do Metal, But You Failed!!! The First Was A Squire And The 2nd Was A Modified Fender!!! They Can Do Metal If You Rig Them Up!!! I Rest My Case!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91

You didn't "win". I just said that I don't give a shit about your fucking stupid posts anymore. Honestly, I'd rather be playing my stock Strat (high gain please!) than arguing about it with some douchebag over the internet.

Also, Eric Johnson uses stock Stratocasters. Stock pickups. It's a well known fact. Fast forward to 3:01.

    /watch?v=VnqpOFcBiMM

That's IT. I'm done. You haven't "won", I just can't put up with your childish pissing war anymore.

  • @EJRocky Eric Johnson??? Seriously, Eric Johnson??? He Doesn't Use No Where Near Alot Of Gain!!! He Doesn't Use Enough Gain To Hear IT Hum!!!

  • @EJRocky

    Shut up cunt.

  • @EJRocky you're a dumbass. any real guitarist that plays fender stratocaster knows that they can't take high gain and distortion. inorder to play metal with a fender stratocaster, you have to install different pickups. stock pickups don't do the job. i think it's funny that you call a guitarist an idiot when your obviously the idiot.

  • @guitarshredfreak2010

Cool story bro. I don't particularly fucking care what you think.

    Over and out.

  • @guitarshredfreak2010 dude, i realize i'm coming in on this conversation rather late, but any passive single coil has some degree of hum to it. and you can buy fender guitars with noiseless pickups or you can buy them aftermarket...fender brand. I've been playing strats and teles for years now and i can honestly say that i've put them through some pretty high-gain settings. may want to do a little more research before you start calling people idiots

  • the aged appearance should be achieved naturally, so you can see how much you've grown with the guitar, from a shiny brand new to a scratchy old guitar, so every scratch brings memories, at least i think so

  • I have real 60's Fenders and a couple of 70's Fender and they do not look as abused as these things. I could believe this stuff when I first saw them in a local shop. I would rather have a new American Standard hands down.

  • Isn't this Michael J. Fox???

  • @MartyMartin87 the east coast version lol

  • i think this for fancy players a players with playing trough the years do that to guitars..

  • hmmmmm i think i would chek pawnshops for a realllll 50-60 strat, but i would buy this first

  • guys this is for true fender fans that dont have the 10 g's to drop on a real 50's strat or 60's. Why do people always talk shit on youtube. Shut the FUCK up to anus secretion!

  • have you ever wanted a fucked guitar

road worn series are for you!!!

    Fucked as hell...

  • A little over priced but a good guitar.

  • I get that vintage guitars have a sound that can only be created with aging, but come on people why buy a NEW guitar that someone at the fender factory whipped with a chain and ruined a perfectly good finish?

  • @IronChefPeter because it gives people choice, it might not be your choice but thats ok, you can buy a brand new strat and you don't have to worry about it. I think these guitars look great, it gives people the chance to own a 50's sounding strat at a fairly decent price.

  • Don't forget that the finish is nitro-cellulose so it's really super thin and lets the guitar really resonate and breathe. You can't even get a finish like that on an American Fender unless you go Custom Shop, in which case, this guitar is an alternative to paying that much. They are very playable and great sounding guitars, esp. with the Tex-Mex pickups. The necks feel great. I understand your viewpoint from the ruining a great finish, but a lot of people like myself enjoy the beat-up look!

  • @ia5662 First of all, there are plenty of USA fenders that have nitrocellulose finishes. Second, nitro doesn't let the guitar breathe and resonate. That's hype. Under every nitro finish is a thick poly undercoat used to seal the wood. Ask any expert, or call Fender, they will tell you. So under every nitro finish is an ibanez thick finish waiting for you. ;)

This is coming from someone who has a AVRI 62 Strat and my previous USA standard resonated much better.. probably due to the 2 piece body.

  • I tried one yesterday, and they do feel really good. It really isn't the look of the guitar that most people go for. It just feels and sounds really smooth.

  • u guys are nerds

this video is about guitars not computers

  • Honestly folks, why bash it just because it's not your thing. I have the blonde tele. Picked it up for a steal at a "Dent and Scratch" discount. Talk about an oxy moron! These babies feel great and play like butter! I LOVE the worn look. If you enjoy playing it, then it's a good instrument, period. Most of us will never be pro musicians. But if your life is enriched when you play that's what matters. Peace.

  • for the tele, just buy a baja tele and wear it in yourself. You even get more pickup combos with the baja tele.

  • awesome ?

  • Thats funny . That makes Gibson owners HP owners....

  • I'd say Gibsons are more like Macs. Like Macs, they're extremely over priced.

  • Correct.

  • but extreemly good and too be fair macs have always been that price, pc's were the same price for a long time but they just got cheaper, coz they're crappier :p but yeah macs r expensice but worth it

  • Not really. Macs usually cost twice the price of what it would cost to build the exact same computer from scratch. The OS isn't anything special, either. I've never liked it.

  • You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. YES Macs are expensive, but you get what you pay for, simple as that. The only way you'll ever find out is by using one (more than 10 mins of drooling in a store). Until then stop throwing things like these on youtube, it's POINTLESS.

  • LOL Dude, shut up. When you price out the parts it takes to build a mac it usually comes out to a little over half of what you pay. If only I had a dime for every time a mac-fag said "You get what you pay for." I'd be a fucking billionaire. I use a mac frequently (and it's running Snow Leopard, I might add.) and I've never been impressed. Sure, their OS is better than, say, Windows Vista, but now that Windows 7 they have nothing to dog on in their adds now.

  • In closing, I would take my hand built gaming PC (that would run circles around any mac) running Windows 7 any day of the week.

  • Ok so if you build a tower with the same specs as a Mac you'll only pay about half of the price.. fine.. but you can't build anything near a Mac when it comes to design for half of the price, for instance an iMac. And the same specs doesn't mean the same performance, because of the OS (I hope I don't need to explain this?). The fact that you are not impressed by Snow Leopard doesn't mean that it isn't great when it comes to stability and user friendliness (compared to Vista and even Windows 7).

  • Please stop this discussion, if you think Macs are overpriced FINE but its your OPINION but you're pretending that its a FACT. When it comes to gaming I agree that a fine hand built tower is much better, but who was talking about gaming.. Macs don't do games too well but that doesn't make them overpriced(?).

  • Yeah, but the thing is, for the price of a mac I built a top of the line PC that's a absolute monster.

  • I guess by that you mean they like to use quality guitars.

  • I want that Fender tele. shame it wouldnt be suited for my style though/

  • Bdw, whats the diffrence between this and the Fender Highway? or Amercian made?

  • This will look great with my hair combed forward and my girl pants.

  • What is the point of this video? We can read the specs... play the damned thing.

  • These guitars suck. The pickups suck. The width of the next is too narrow which means the high E sting is always falling off the board. The tremolo is worst I have ever seen. The higher frets have way too many dead spots. The guitar will also not stay in tune. Save your money and don't buy one!

  • MIM Fenders are Made in Mexico by Mexicans. USA Fenders are made in Corona, CA by Mexicans. And they all do a great job!

  • @GreenManalishi8151 i have nothing against mexican makers.. ofcourse i 100% agree how great they are with their job.. but of course everything goes down to business... the question is what kind of materials? fenders will not put something in an mim fenders that are found in custom shops imo..

i'm thinking of getting a roadworn.. looks cool similar to a custom shop but how about the quality?

  • @09kitty23 i would go for it, they feel great to play, and with a bit of overdrive you can actually get a great heavier tone on it, good value for money :)

  • @Dontknockmedown thanks mate.. i am just waiting for a comment from a serious guy who had an experience with this guitar... 60s will be awesome.. ^^ again thank you

  • @GreenManalishi8151 yes both MIM and USA fenders are made by mexicans but there is a difference. Mexicans who make guitars at Corona Cali can speak some english. now thats a premium. ehehehe. you gotta pay more for them.

  • why would you want your guitar to look shit on purpose?

  • Why pay when you can go outside with your £200 fender guitar and drag it across the pavement ?

  • id like to see you make a £200 guitar with a poly finish look as good as any fender relic.

  • lets get this straight no unmodded squier is on par with any fender even if the fender is made in mexico or japan or america

  • Comment removed

  • the CV's are easily > the Mexi Strats.

  • i can tell youve never played a classic vibes squier strat

  • were are these made

  • The new roadworn fenders are made in Mexico.

  • for 1000 they should be made in the us i think your paying for the 60s and 50s idea i mean look at the evh guitar 25000!! all for a beat up guitar

  • Everything is going up in price. But, think about it. Does it really matter where the roadworn is made????? The roadworn is made in a Fender Factory in Baja Mexico, not very far from the US boarder and not very far from the US Corona Fender Factory and the quality control and workmanship of a Mexican Made Guitar is pretty much on par with US made guitars now. If seen the Fender Corona Factory, you will see that the majority of workers and quality control inspectors are of Hespanic descent.

  • yes itdoes mater were its made look at sqiers they are made in china but they have mim qulity

  • Where did you get that idea that a "Squire" brand has the same quality as a "Fender" brand made in Mexico??

  • have you played the john 5 tele squire its close to the mia one in playability i mean so go play a 300$ squire its amazing

  • I agree. Does not matter where it is made. What matters is feeling the end result. I've tried the Road Worn Strats, and they have a "coming home" feeling to them. Not all of the sound their best, but try out 10, and you will find your axe. If you like a worn feeling and look. I love them :)

  • mexican standard tele/strat: $500ish

    road worn strat/tele: $1000ish

    usa standard tele/strat: $1200ish

    custom shop relic strat/tele: $3000ish

Not a bad deal for what it is, but not for everybody.

  • yea your right i kinda got the idea because thers a vid of john 5 playing fast on his squier

  • whats the name of the guy

  • i love my rw tele, sounds great an feels great.

    just like my duesies.

  • guys, if you dont have the money to buy one then just say it...no use coming up with wise bullshit comments....these guitars rock big time. They play as well as they look....awesome.

  • I havn't commented yet, but I just have to say that i don't like these guitars. Fender makes great stuff, but i am not a fan of this series. not because of the money, but i just dont see the point of choosing this over a brand new strat for modern sound and playability

  • Same here. I've been around a long time, and I've seen a lot of gimmicks, but this one is too much for me. Mexicans do the actual "fake wear" with sanders and tools. The wear has to be in very specific areas, resulting in mass marketing of nearly identical "road worn" guitars, which were made to look individualized. If that's what I person wants, more power to them. To me, it has no class. JMHO

  • Would mind explain further why making intruments look worn is no class??? Why do people prefer to buy pre washed faded Levis, or why do baseball players prefer to buy already broken in baseball mits, or why do people prefer to buy already soft and worn looking brown leather bomber jackets??

  • Sure. :) Sorry... didn't mean to offend you. What some folks think is junk, others think is treasure. Wasn't trying to insult anyone. For me - and not everybody - I LOVE the look of a shiny new guitar. I love taking care of them. Like a new car! Makes my heart skip a beat. Some get that from worn-look. I said below, "more power to them" :) I started playing a long time ago, and, I just don't like change. I'm really not a crabby guy... lol "Class" is unique to the individual, I guess.

  • I have a road worn 60's. I respect your opinion. ITs not for everyone. I grew up playing my dads beat up, worn out 63 jaguar. Great guitar. Ive had "new and shiny" and was actually uncomfortable playing them. To me it's about a feel and comfort level. Ive already worn a few frets, so I guess you can say Ive partially reliced it myself. :-)

  • I played a real old gibson acoustic (many years ago :) Wasn't for sale. Back of the neck was so smooth from real wear, the fretboard was slick from years of finger oil and use. Pickgaurd was scratched all to heck. :) I had to wonder where it'd been - Who, and how many people, owned it? This might sound stupid, but I felt honored to play it. It was neat that there was this unknown history in it. One day, I'd LOVE to own an old Gibby or Martin in that good of shape. Boy, would I!

  • Oh, I don't think you'd like my latest tele.:) It's a parts-caster I built over a period of months, as I can't afford a new model. I'm disabled. So I have a great affection for it and my others. Like a hot-rodder does when he builds a car. Most guitarist would probably say it sounds great, but looks ugly as heck. So, I understand different tastes. But.... it's shiny as hell! LOL. Have a good one, gmlasam. Hope I was able to answer your question.

  • hahaha Fender are really onto something here...

I'd trather get a beaten up old 87 strat and put some new pickups in it and slide it up the road a few ways... get soem old school stickers too venom and motorhead lol...

  • just get a guitar with nitrocelluose finsh and drop it 4 times and there and play it for 10 years

  • Like calling yourself "evh5150" is just sooo original, you mean?

  • Whatever happened to ACTUALLY playing your guitar over 30 years to have it look and feel like that.

It's like one of John Mayer's strats is all beaten up. There is no way in hell he has had it and played it long enough to look like that.

  • i have this guitar and it sounds soo much better than the other teles in guitarcenter. Plus it has an easier feel on the neck.

  • These guitars look a bit cheezy but they sound and feel really, really good. I put sound above all else, and they blow away an EJ, hot rod or any USA strat I've played and owned.

  • wtf? why buy this when you can buy a brand new original strat for probably half the money of the road worn series

  • i think fender have too much time and money on their hands

  • Not everyone is gonna get it...I like that.

  • WTF, why didn't he do a roadtest for everyone?

  • it takes a lot of work for someone to relic this tele as nice as this, believe me i tried, and believe me you can screw it up bad....you need the right tools or it doesn't look right, not as nice as this.

  • obviously its gonna look worse in 25 years..thats a given..so would an original if you fuckin play it, if i had a real one i would just play the dam thing, no good to you when your 6 feet under is it?

  • My 1979 Strat got road worn the old fashioned way...

  • It'll go perfectly w/ my $200 'worn look' jeens.

  • u mean Jeans.

  • Thank you for correcting my spelling, Ian.

OK I looked at your page now go look at mine.

  • for people that want to look like they play alot!!

  • imagine how this guitar is gonna look in 25 years i cant see it looking as good as guitars from the 50s i would doubt it would have any paint left

  • kool but i rather fuck up a fender myself like a telecaster or a jagstand

  • cooler , sorry!

  • Like paul said" what coller than this"..

Love the relic look, at least then it feels like a guitar I can didg into and play, not like my other guitars where i'm worried about leaving it on a guitar stand at a gig or something because i paid 3000 for it or something, no worries here..the noveltys "worn" off already, just kill it, it can take it.

  • I checked them out at my local GC. On the Strats, they even went as far as to put grime in the ridges of the volume and tone knobs.

  • I did like the idea of the paint.....not the worn look but the fact it was painted with nitrocellulose like the E.J. and not polyurethane, and the fact it has a V-neck.....then I found out it was a $1000 mexican strat

  • Fuck the bullshit worn look, it's just a stupid ass idea, I hate it. I would prefer a new guitar that looks new, I don't buy dumb fucking ripped or paint splattered jeans, I sure as hell wouldn't buy a guitar with worn paint or worn hardware.

  • I love my MIM Tele but it cost me $400 and i modded to sound good. At close to $1000 bucks you are gonna get a beat up looking guitar(guitars should be beat up the old fashion way. Playing the fucking thing to death) that is gonna need modding to sound better when you can get a brand new or used Japanese or American Fender for the same price if not lower.

  • wow...

for when you don't actually have the time to play a guitar but still want to have the hip image you've played for years- buy them worn out looking!! (now comes with free vintage band tee, and fake mustache)

in the right hands any guitar sounds good, but this looks stupid.

  • My strat looks similar... but because of actual use.

These are abercrombie jeans with six strings.

    CHECK OUT OUR VIDS!

  • the wearing looks fake, like, can spot it from 100 meters fake.

why couldnt they just make a nitro covered mexican line that were cheaper version of custom shop years? that would actually be worth buying.

  • I've got an idea. Why don't we start with new instruments (that look new) and wear them down the way they should be worn down, through playing.

  • the gayest idea ever, now kids can say they have been playing for years when they havnt even played a week. This is so stupid.

  • its ment to say how long fender has been around

  • ah I guess that makes sense, but still...

  • what does it matter what some kid can say? it all comes down to what u can actually do and that doesnt depend on what your guitar looks like

  • stupid idea.

  • agreed

  • I like to break in my own guitar.

  • I'm talking about the wood. not the finishes, and how they're set up. like there's something wrong with the wood- like it has knots in it.

  • Just ordered one today, blonde tele! I love the relic look..beats paying through the nose for it..I love that vintage look, they sound and feel great, i actually feel like i ripping fender off,,haha!

  • so basicly your paying new guitar price for a worn out old one? dumbass idea

  • pretty stupid idea they had with this.

  • whats the diff between a 50s and 60s strat

  • The 50's road worn Strat uses a maple fretboard and the 60's road worn uses a rosewood. With real pre CBS guitars there would be even more differences especially as you got closer to the 70's. Generally, the maple fretboard guitars may sound a little toppier while the rosewood guitars have more mids and bass because the rosewood filters out some of the highs. Of course, we are talking broad generalities here because I've tried some maple fretoard Strats that would give a LP a run for its money.

  • If only they had 22 frets. and agree with guitarbucket.

  • i do think these guitars are a bit overpriced, but the guitar itself is great and i think fender did i real good job with the relicing. it plays nice and sounds good

  • edit "its about £450 cheaper" was meant to be its about £450 - thats cheaper than one of these

  • just buy a 2nd hand guitar - i've just been playing a Gibson Les Paul 'The Paul' - its a 1980's model with original dirty fingers p/u's and it feels amazing and is about £450 cheaper than these and plays better

  • honestly I think it's just their way of selling their seconds.

  • i hate these guitars. buy a new guitar and play it and get your own battle scars. i dont need any body to make my guitar look old for me.

  • Nice for the distressed look but I rather spend less and get a Axl badwater or as guitryea said earn the "Road Worn" look!

  • i like the way it looks but i would rather do ageing the myself over many years of playing

  • Agreed.

  • yup get a highway one thats what i did muahhaha even though they onlyhadblack when i was there and wanted three tone =(

  • You can get guitars that sound and play just as good, for half the price.

  • orange
