just to let you know a 9400gt is not a gaming card...it might have alot of ram but it sucks....trust me I know I swapped a 8600gt out with one and I got same or worse performance.

Anyway, I know it's not great but I have awesome looking games that run at full frame rate on it. Why isn't GTA IV one of those games? Oh yeah, because Rockstar gave it to some ass Canadians who've never worked on a game before, let alone a PC game that requires extra attention.

@AwesomeASK Yes but unlike Mafia II you'll most likely have to set everything (except textures, medium and traffic 50) to minimum if you wanna get decent performance.

if u don t have wide screen monitor, place aspect ratio to 4:3 this will gives maybe 1 or 2 fps, i have gt 430 and game is running (35-60 fps)

@ilikewiigames They are at the beginning of the video, pause at 0:05. They aren't exactly to the lowest because there's not much difference in performance...

The game doesn't run or look THAT bad, I just wish I would have 40 FPS, shadows and reflections to medium.

@ilikewiigames By the way maybe I should have specified, Fraps shows 30 FPS but I seriously doubt that the game runs higher than 20.

@ilikewiigames For some reason the performance went down since I uploaded this video, now I have to run the game in 800 x 600 to get decent gameplay. Can't wait for that 580 to arrive gah.

and 1024 x 768 isn't that high resolution ;) I has 1900 x 1200 which is almost the double

@Renax111 Yeah I know but my monitor only takes up to 1024 x 768. It wouldn't be so bad if the game had some f*ckin' anti-aliasing.

Yeah, the PC version doesn't seem to be very nicely-optimized at all, although it's WAY better than it was at launch with the patches they've put out. It's still a shame, because I bought it for the mods and using any that add higher poly counts really kills the game in no time, even on a higher-end machine. It's still loads of fun though once you get used to 20-25 fps... just balls.

@phreakindee Yes GTA IV 1.0.0.0 doesn't compare to 1.0.7.0, they have improved but it's still very very far from decent. The gameplay is still fun but I expected this game to be perfect from every point of view and not being able to play with all those Eye Candy graphics is really a kick in the balls...

That's with the graphics, the vehicles handled like crap on consoles but you could get used to it, on the other hand, on PC it's just... gaaah!
