The HRC is there for situations like that, they however must check every complaint - maybe the answer is to make the criteria for starting an investigation more specific, so less time is wasted on things like this.

Commission shouldn't be influenced with the rants by rodents here that,code 13(1) is going to be challenged or has been in debate.
It is not for HRC to be influenced by declarations as to the constitutional validity of statutes and regulations in future.
If they reach the conclusion that a relevant statutory provision violates the Charter, they must decide the case that is before them as if that provision had never been removed.

Any claim to be protecting rights of free of speech was purely incidental to the over-arching purpose of gratuitous self-promotion. Ezra saw a readily available means to create controversy and draw attention to himself. Ezra has never met a mirror he did not like. And his distorted sense of reality allows him to actually like what he sees, while the rest of us are retching violently. Ezra is at once a quack, fraud and charlatan. When Ezra printed the cartoons he was exercising his democratic right to Freedom of the Press. Commission shouldn't be influenced with the rants by rodents here that,code 13(1) is going to be challenged or has been in debate.
It is not for HRC to be influenced by declarations as to the constitutional validity of statutes and regulations in future.
If they reach the conclusion that a relevant statutory provision violates the Charter, they must decide the case that is before them as if that provision had never been removed.

I suspect that he offered his actual opinions on why he published the article at 1:20. He didn't want those opinions on the legal record (and therefore not on Youtube) because he's trying to test the maximum flexibility of the commission in order to set a precedent or to create a media storm.

I cannot believe he is being brought before the Humans Right Commission. Don't they have better and more important cases to attend to then interrogating this guy? I'm shocked that taxpayer no less is being used to pay for that Saudi's guy defense (if I heard Levant correctly).
This just further proves that Islam is intolerant of criticism and free speech. It seems some or maybe many Muslims feel that freedom of speech and criticism should only apply to them and no one else.

I read that the bill to the tax-payer is over $100,000 and this case has a long way to go before it's resolved.

January 10 2007 Canadian police ,left me a disabled stroke victim,,,, on the ground in front of a hospital ,,calling me a terrorist,and when I asked for their badge numbers ,they told Me,, Fuck Off! ,, i did nothing ,I help people abused by police .There was no doctor at the hospital ,so i checked out to find a doctor,staff took their wheel chair away and left me on the ground in the rain charging me for disturbance it sicking its not true i did nothing . .

He was hauled before the Human Rights commission to defend his rights because of a complaint by Syed Soharwardy. He didn't seek out this persecution, and he has every right and very good reason to film it so that his rights are not violated further.

It appears that the HRC is being used as a tool to ensure that muslims feel respected. But what if muslims, as a group, need some sharp criticism in light of recent events. What if they as a group clearly feel contempt for other religions and ideologies while fighting tooth and nail for their own ideologies respect.
