  • 20 idiots who were born after the 90`s use their computer upsidedown.

  • It was around sept 1982

  • Roll Tide Roll - our famous PETE CARR (in blue sweater)

  • So attractive.

    SO talented.

so much perfection in one video.

god, what I would do to have been alive for this concert...

  • jay means joint

  • take a hint arty, paul's singing ur part

  • I know this,art doesn't

  • I feel the tension already so strong,do u feel it?...no?

  • 0:30 Is that guy really shouting I'll kill you?

  • The best concert ever! I watch it almost every day. Wish t hey were doing something for the anniversary.

  • I was there too... wish we have that feeling again

  • whats the name of the song

  • Simon and Garfunkel were a tremendous act, but that Paul Simon is one of the great songwriters of our time and probably all time.

  • Very good Simon and Garfunkel Cover you can find at:

    graceland-online.de

  • these guys put today's musicians to shame.

  • oh i so agree

  • Haha art knows how to pump it!

  • I had no money and had just left law school in Sept of 1981. I desperately wanted to take my new girlfriend and love of my life Diane out for a memorable day. We had a little money, a few beers, and not much else when we ventured into the city that day. Flash forward to 2011 and here we are still in love with the best 2 girls ever that anyone could ever hope to have. Lindsey and Laura may never know how cool her mom and dad are and always were. We still listen to it today. We are still in love.

  • @computrsinc what a delightful story...thanks for sharing

  • I was in Germany 1982, I was 10 rows from the stage and yelled out New York!

at the top of my lungs, Garfunkel heard me looked over and smiled!

A moment i will never forget! They played with the same intensity as the

central park show. They sounded great!

  • @ou8126 WHAT A GREAT MOMENT YOU HAD ...HELLO FROM VENEZUELA ....I AM ALSO A FUN OF THEM

  • @ou8126 hey New York ... Ex - patriot New Yoker Here Too. Glad to Have You Aboard !

  • @ou8126 Hey! I was at that same concert, if it was at Offenbach!

  • didn't know central park could accomodate half a million people. there must have been a serious overflow? or what?? wow....

  • At the time this concert was put on, Central Park had the reputation for being the deadliest and dirtiest place in America. What they did was cleanse the Park with the one thing that would bring that many New Yorkers out of their apartments. They are angels. New York looks way better now than it did in 1976 when I visited, and the tour bus took us in a loop around the park but we could not actually get out of the bus.

  • ...beautiful!!! This is lush!! I love rock and metal, but this is a good guilty pleasure!! S&G are amazing!!

  • thanks to the 18 people who did'nt like this video, it's lit my Joint,

  • I saw the concert live in the best possible place to be, in front of my TV.

  • The soul in music comes from God who is the creator of ALL that is beautiful. We turn our backs to Him and the soul is taken away...THAT'S what happend.

  • Isso é sensacional, é som meu!!

  • I was there, I got stoned then laid.

  • @melissacarterTS NIce one!!

  • @guillebeatle Late in the Evening. Originally done by Paul Simon after he and Arty split.

  • @guillebeatle It is "late in the evening" :-)

  • arty is the best singer I heard as good as 4 or 5 others but Paul is the brains and he's good

  • art is out i see it so does art see his attitude

  • this is obvious where Paul is heading

  • My recollections of watching this concert on televsion as a child, was about 11 years old, and it was the night before we went on our holidays, and I had fallen off my bike that day and ripped my legs to bits. The beauty of the music must have numbed my pain. Am forever greatful to my dad for his record collection which introduced me to such artists as Art and Paul.

  • Thank you for these videos :) Brings back a lot of fond memories to me !

  • one trick pony is a great movie if u wann kn ow how to rock & roll

  • this is clearly a paul simon song he was phasing art as I speak

  • i missed this

  • i saw their latest concert in rome, italy, after re-union, on 2001, and they were sublime... we were over than 500 thousand, all over europe. it was free....so a lot of people from germany, france, switzerland.... came down in italy to see them. it was great to listen so many people sing in their "own" english bridge of troubled water...and the boxer, but the greatest thing was that there was alot of young people to listen and sing their song. that's make the difference!

  • @buccylla it is exhilarating to read comments like this. I have been listening to their music since the early days so I know how good it is. I can play several of them on my six string so its a real joy to see them perform live. Thanx for posting

  • Being from the NYC area, I had the opportunity to see this re-union concert back in '81.If I recall, there was approx. half million in attendance that evening. Most certainly one of the best shows I had ever seen.I don't think you'll ever see classic artists like These again.

  • @50marioD

  • 15 people doesnt understand the meaning of music!!

  • REAL MUSICIANS NOT AS THAT CRAPPY BULL...... OF TODAY!!!

  • In every single Paul Simon/Garfunkel concert I've been to, which is a lot, he ALWAYS introduces the musicians.

  • 最高の盛り上がり!!!今でも好きです

  • NOSTALGIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • I love the bassist. Nothing more must be said :)

  • holy balls they had a sick rhythm section

  • And they call the noise being recorded today music.

  • Remember nicking the double album from my older brother and still have it....... they were amazing together but also as solo artists..... great song

  • Best band in the world! Blast the speakers!!!

  • another clasic x,,,a very beutifull old song x

  • This is quite possibly the most beautiful song ever written.

  • Geez, how am I going to find my way back to my car through this crowd?

  • 3.38 trumpet fail lol.

  • Grafunkels' talents:

    1.great great backup singer

    2. (crickets)

    3. (crickets)

  • I was 13 years old and had no money to buy the double record, so I bought it with a friend of nine. It should stay one week at my hose, one at his... I know all the songs by heart. Just love tehm. I'm 42 now... I like Muse but never forgot this... they are wonderful. Great song writers and great preformers. Love from Portugal!

  • yes, i'll say it: art is a funkle.

  • ' What a night ' that must have been .. !

A great open air concert in Central Park, at the beginning of the great 80's.

When I see that concert film, (with this Top Song in it), I always wished I could have been there too.. You can really taste the wonderful atmosphere! (But however me, I was much too young, and much too far away (Europe) .. -;) God bless the DVD's ! -;)

  • Wow, does this bring back memeories. I was at this show. 29 years ago today, September 19, 1981. It was a great show. I was 21 then, now I am 50. I love Simon and Garfunkel. Brings me back to the core of my childhood.

  • .... those were the days of miracle and wonder......

  • Importante este álbum. Gosto muito.

  • When I was a little kid, I went with my parents to this concert! I remember it very well! It was the coolest atmosphere, and everyone was very very nice, although it was extremely crowded. The thing I will never forget , is that I noticed everone passing around 'cigerettes'. (My mother was a smoker), and I asked her why people were doing that, and she said (smilingly), they all ran out, so everyone had to share! But It didn"t smell like cigerettes, I thought! I still love S&G to this day! :)

  • The delay blows!

  • My Uncle Trev (God rest his soul, taped this for me when I was18 years old. Now, 27 years later it still sends shivers down my spine when I listen to the whole concert. Amazing music and two geniuses.

  • Wow does this bring me back. I was at this concert. Still remember it like it was yesterday. 29 years ago. hard to believe. time flys.

  • @MrJim12341121

    Jealeous ! -;)

Wished I could have been there too, that night in Central Park, on a great open air performance, at the beginning of the great 80's ! .. But however much too young and much too far away (Europe).

  • @ZitkalaNoni I was trying to get two of my other friends to go and they did not want to go to the concert. When they heard 500,000 people were there they knew they missed out on a part of history. I went with one lucky friend. I do think the 60's and 70's were the best time for rock and free spriited music. Todays youth have gone down a different path.

  • @MrJim12341121

indeed, as I bought the Central Park concert DVD &as a big music lover, I immediately saw that must have been something 'historic'. Lucky you! Nice to hear some of the real 'witnesses' of that amazing concert ! -;) Yes all my idols made great music i.t 60's/70's/80's. Beatles/Roxy Music/ FleetwoodMac/ Level42/ The Police/ etc.etc... -born too late -;) -;)

  • @ZitkalaNoni although you say you were born too late, you were born with great taste ! good music is good music whatever the decade, love your favourites list !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @spaceman979 Thank u, nice to hear -;)

  • @MrJim12341121 ur friends were idiots I hope they learned

  • @MrJim12341121 couldn't agree with you more. The soul in the music is empty now.

  • @MrJim12341121 We have not. Look at what's happening in the arab world, or spain, greece & even here in Belgium. Striking moment of that spirit was the Flaming Lips' concert at the Pukkelpop festival last year, when 10,000 people had their moment against the war in Iraq.

But about the part of history, you're right. If only I was born then... I would have been there.

    Peace.

    :)

    j.

  • @MrJorremorre What's happening in the arab world and what's happening in Europe right now is absolutely NOT the same as the movements of the 60s and 70s. These new movements are garbage.

  • @MrJim12341121 : Well said, regarding your comment about music and the chosen path taken by today's generation, lacking in substance..meaning, it's all together noise pollution.

  • @MrJim12341121 Consider us fortunate for our ability to appreciate art though I hear many new artists whose work is current and significant and deep. Do you know the history of S&G, their beatnik influence? their position in academic history? I have an understanding, being a child of their spiritual genre; "analysis" arrived. Looking at the who, why and what...

"...it was a time of innocence a time of confidences..."

  • this is one of my favorite song and it remind my bachelor days.

  • YES YES YES!! They're still crazy after all these years :D!

  • Beautiful harmonies and just a single guitar. THAT is talent! Beautiful classic, these two.

  • the most beatiful concert of Simon & Garfunkel!!!

  • still enjoy after all those years

  • I watched this one live on TV and would have paid a gran to have been there. What a great, great concert by two of the best singer/songwriters of our time. Some of us are getting older now, losing our parents, but as long as the spirit of the music is there, we will always be young. Peace to all.

  • @godblesstheusa76 I agree ...

  • Poets, they were.

  • Fantastic! Nobody beats these guys. Sure missed them when they couldn't make the Winnipeg stop this year. Hope that they're both ok now. Said I wouldn't buy concert tickets for them ever again but I lied. If they ever come back here I'll be first in line. Biggest Fan Anne from Winnipeg :)

  • Great upload tnx;-)

  • synthesizer lol

  • Nice upload but you could have named each song surely?

  • Great musick from the decade that hosted the biggest sellouts in history.

The youth of the 70s are now a part of the establishment, tell me where is the love you rallyed in the streets for?

The world is as bad as it ever been!

It is time to stepp up and do as you once preached.

  • September, 1981

  • Bloody hell, they were brilliant!! Great song writers, brilliant harmonies and simply fantastic performers!! I remember watching this Central Park show as a 9 year old and I was hooked!!
