I was there and watched this... I cannot say Canada under achieved. The USA team was perhaps one of the best they've ever had. The evidence is in the fact that so many of those players are playing big minutes in the NHL: Fowler, Stepan, Carlson, Palmieri... a great team. This Canada team was probably one of the better teams that Canada has had in a while. That USA team was just unreal truthfully.
this brings back memories.. believe me, it was LOUD. it was even LOUDER when eberle scored late in the game to tie it up. if you were at the game you'd remember "CAMPBELL.... CAMPBELL..."
Think of how much unnecessary pressure these guys have on them, and they're only like 18-20 years old. Everyone is at home on holidays watching this, and they have their country's pride and reputation riding on every game. Both teams played amazing and Canada couldn't win every year forever...good job.
