  • @FSXFaulder: This plane was retrofitted with the Avidyne R9 Avionics decks and the Avidyne DFC100 Autopilot, both of which I am huge fans of!

  • I see that particular model doesn't have the two integrated garmin radio/gps units

  • Great plane and great flying!

  • Excellent.

  • Bahh..Who needs visibility when you've got all sorts of vancy avionics..Just makes the landing that much more rewarding.

I'm about to go recreate this scenario in X-plane lol.

  • @motokid032 Would like to see the X-Plane simulation u make... (Have thought of making X-Plane Sims b4 ... But never got around to it.)

  • nice job. nice landing

  • I am a pilot for this plane in umitilla. Tail Number is N682JB

  • Are you a copa member? I have a cirrus at KMKC in MO

  • @bryanheitman Absolutely! I am an active COPA member and have attended 2 migrations and 2 CPPPs so far...

  • Remember NEXRAD shows intensity of water and not convection. I know nothing about the weather this aircraft was in on this day however NEXRAD intensity alone doesn't necessarily mean thunderstorm.

Likewise on a convective day even the smallest speck of green on NEXRAD may be extremely hazardous.

  • @bryanheitman: Excellent point! (Rain doesn't bother me... But living in FL has given me a gr8 respect for thunderstorms!!)

  • @allgaiea: Thanks! (I am still learning/playing with cameras and software techniques)... Hope to have some newer/better content over the next couple of months.

  • I like the way this video was done good job.

  • Outstanding. Thanks for uploading.

  • very awesome ! good for noobs like me ! my closest is orlando executive.

  • WTF?! that weather on the screen looks like hardcore thunderstorms (Suicide)....

  • Good Call - THIS TIME! Florida severe weather can be extremely fickle and dangerous. Push your luck often enough and you won't be posting any more videos. Good Luck.

  • @LordsofLanding, @savethedeveloper: Trust me I do not take the weather flying lightly... It took me a couple of years before I gradually increased my personal minimums to be able to do this. (And yes I am fanatically checking my instrumentation status along the way)

  • i'd be concerned about loss of satellite signal or radio/ transponder outage in such thick rain

  • Be very, very careful doing that over southern Florida during the summer. Those are some seriously powerful storm cells and can kill you.

  • Come visit us on Maui and fly our Cirrus! mauiflightacademy.info

  • @mauiflightacademy Definitely interested... What is your Name/# ? (I am planning to come to Hawaii in March to complete my "Land in all 50 states mission")

  • great video.... you are stubborn eh...? :-) They soo didn't want to you to land, "we got a crazy SR pilot coming in.."

Superb flying, knowledge and 'trust' of the systems you had at your disposal!

  • did avadyne update their instrument package? Looks different from the cirrus i'm used to...

  • @tomtom5418 YES ... This is the Avidyne R9 avionics deck + DFC 100 autopilot. Check out their website... In my opinion this is the best flight deck choice available right now.
