  • dude can i buy that xhp millie off of you

  • i don't get why pepole dislike these videos... .IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM, DON'T WATCH THEM!

  • dude.... i just bought the millitary...

  • @longboarders1 cool.... I guess.... right?

  • @NeptuneKnives yeah, but i didn't knew about the new millitary... but i don't care about that. so yeah :D

  • I'm looking at purchasing a 92mm Spyderco Citadel and would appreciate your opinion on automatic knives and also it's comparative size to a Military or Paramilitary 2? Any input would be appreciated. Keep up the great vids! Thanks

  • @MTaylor1715 I wish I could help but being that I'm not a spyderco dealer nor that much liked by them I can't get any insider info or a hold of that one. That's why I keep telling people to email/ contact spyderco & tell em that I'm just trying to help folks make purchases that they won't regret!

  • Enjoy your vids greatly! Thanks. Whats the cost to "pimp" a spyderco, say a ParaM-2 to similar ur Millie from tuffthumbz? Like ur pimped Junior A LOT.

  • @primox1 i honestly have no clue. You gota ask tuffthumbz. Me & him have an arrangement so I'm not sure what you would have to pay sorry

  • Great points!

  • Personally Im waiting for the Military to get the Para 2 treatment from the factory.... Want tip down carry option and beefier screws... Would also like to see open construction like the Para2 with those screws threading into nested stand-offs instead of directly into an aluminum spacer like on the current Millie....Then again perhaps it might just be easier to Supersize the Para 2 as the New Military design and call it a day...Would love the option of a 4.25" bladed Para 2..

  • @rainmechanic yah man para 2 is very well designed. For me para 2, sage 2, Junior is decent & now I wonder about the yojimbo 2

  • A lot of people like the military "as is" though. ;)

  • @forcedefrappecom true but if you ask tuff he will tell you the same (I hope!) that it's got some weak points in terms of construction

  • Great video Dave and Geoff make perfect work like always !! RESPECT !

  • I'm perfectly fine with people modding their knives to fit their needs. But tbh I think it's a bit absurd to ask a manufacturer to honour a warranty on a knife that has been pimped. They're trying to run a business, and for every Tuffthumbz out there, there is at least one person who modifies stuff and doesn't know what they are doing. It becomes a complicated mess and very costly process to make exceptions to warranty pimped knives. If your pimper is skilled he can warranty his own work.

  • @victorinoxfan yes Tuff does! haha I'm a scourge of the knife companies!

  • Cheers for the vid Dave. Informative as ever

  • I kind of like my M4 Millie's choil. But again, it is different than the liner locks.

  • Nice vid... A couple points, I disagree on the warranty on a modified knife. Warranties are meant to protect us from manufacturer defects, not mods. Also, which knife do u find has a stronger lock... Para2 or Millie?

  • @1dducks Para 2 man. Para 2 is one of the best if not the best Spyderco IMO so far. The Yojimbo is similiar in terms of lock but I'd have to see. My new favorite is the Dialex Junior Spyderco. Compression lock but not as strong of a liner as on the para 2 but much more concealable & better blade ratio & looks hot pimped. I'm gona try to get more & pimp them too! Military is a nice knife but overall construction (screws, pivot design, lock type) a Para 2 is awesome

  • @1dducks yes u make total sense about the warranty but I wish more makers would support knife modders cuz honestly it all comes back full circle. It's seeing custom work done on production knives that cost way less in the end than a real custom that inspires folks to go buy FE a boker 67 & then turn it close to a real Anso 67. So in a way modders support the companies it'd be col if they were more understanding of us knife nuts wanting to own customs that are out of our reach so we mod

  • Striders are way way overpriced. Numerous reports out there of new knives that rusted in storage, had poor blade alignment, vertical play and extremly poor finish.

Top on this arrogant owner, and you get a product that should have been banned by the knife community long ago. Can't understand how people continue to buy such crude knives from such crude company. Look at Spyderco & Benchmade, there is another way to conduct business...

  • @AMRonin I learned recently how they're lock ups are made & what demographics make up their employees. There's a reason why Dwyer told me to call before coming in... I spent A LOT of money on my first vim cru sng. 5 days in I was emailing Strider & being ignored so I figured to take my own actions to resolve the blade play. Ended up buying another one just to make sure & I was right cuz I've seen 3 now total & all of em the same problems. The damn SNG should've included warnings

  • why would a company fix a knife thats been pimped? They spend hundreds of hours designing and testing a knife. Its made with the most advanced cnc machines. Then people mod them with a drill press, a dremel tool, and some hand tools. Even the best manual mill machinist cant keep tolerances to what a cnc mill can do. If you like a knife but dont like a certain aspect of the desgn and you mod it to your liking thats your choice but dont expect the manufacturer to fix it if it develops problems

  • @MrLongboarder87 well tuffthumbz will fix it LOL I think modding a knife is more like knife culture & art. It's really taking some products & doing more with them & it promotes people to go buy that production knife because of it. On one hand yah a machine isn't making it but that's the idea you're buying something man made & hand crafted. It's honestly pretty bad ass when done right & sometimes it ends up being superior. Some companies should take notice of what's being done

  • the lock is steel...

  • the lock is titanium

  • @chrisw40 is it HOLY CRAP dadgomit! Aye I need to go edit this now SOB!

    thank you sir

  • @chrisw40 nope I took a magnet to it it's stainless steel hahahah another win for me! thanks for looking out though sir!

  • @NeptuneKnives I always thought it was titanium for some reason looks like it in person.

  • @chrisw40 well that is why I am here to correct the misinformation. I will magnet it on my next upload to show for sure thanks!

  • I don't know about the gonzo one but the one on the bm is painted better and it just kind of fades instead of the black paint chipping. But I see your point on the clip lol.

  • I have the benchmade version of that gonzo you have and I like the clip better than the regular benchmade clip because it doesnt chip.

  • @Loue333 Wait so this clip on my ganzo doesn't chip? Is that what u r saying?

I jsut don't like the point on it so I'll probably switch it later

  • Comment removed

  • @DrWrongPaul LOL huh?

  • im waiting for a 4 point carry option military, im hoping next year with the success of the para2, i dont want to buy a left handed millie, on the side that it might be to hard to resell, if i ever needed too, great pimp job tho, super clean

  • @thomassmyth65 Tuff really took his time on my stuff. He tells me this all the time LOL

  • Random question but have you ever handled a benchmade full size 630 Skirmish I just sold mine on the forums and I really regret it :(

  • @Darkstar2520 nope sorry LOL

  • that looks like a benchmade clip. if it is, emerson clips are interchangable

  • @spsilvgo hmmm... I will try cuz I just got that emerson!
