Blue Thunder Wave Pool & World Waterpark - WEM

The waves didn't look that high in this video but was that because they were set below their maximum height limit. But they coud be hih because I saw someone trying to surf and I've also seen a video where peop[le have been canoeing on the waves in this pool. I guess that the waves are still pretty strong even if they weren't that high. However, I think that 6ft is ite high for waves these days. Someone please reply.

haha, if your not on a tube in the wave pool and your in the middle where everyone else is then your pretty much fucked. i got kicked in the head so many times i had the worst headache after, lol. oh and i almost drown like eighteen million times cause the people in tubes kept going over top of me when the waves kept coming.

actuly its not water at all the water is so clear that you can see the brown stuff cause when people go down the slide there shorts take off peices of paint so it gets rusted and the ugly brown color that the materiel was made out of painted over ( A 11 year old opinoin)

There is a daily general admission charge which ranges from 14$ (weekdays) to 18-24$ (weekends). These are the prices during the winter.

There are slide attendants to control the traffic flow on the slides. Check out AngelWings' videos above in the 'VideoResponses' section. Those videos should help answer your questions. In general, most of the slides are between 60 and 90 feet (vertical height), and terminate in splashdown pools 4 to 5 feet deep. Also, there is lots of information about the World Waterpark by clicking (more) in the 'About This Video' at the top right. Have fun! The 'Thunderbolt' RULES!!!

Thanks! Lots of folks have asked, and I couldn't tell them. I used to record music streams from a Russian dance/trance music site (onto cassette if you can believe...) and for this song they only stated 'Promised Land'. Guess they just wrote what they 'thought' was the lyrics. :) Of course, their error made it impossible to search for the song or lyrics as well. But from the audio cassette to the video sound track worked well!

Note: some of the major water slides were not in service as of Jan. 18 due to slide and splashdown pool maintenance and resurfacing. Including Nessie's Revenge (purple slide), Sky Screamer (red slide), and a few others. Also, the sled conveyor for Thunderbolt failed Jan 15, so it was also out of service most of last week :(

That sucks... Thunderbolt is my fav slide!!

My husband and I just got back and Nessies Revenge was working, Sky screaming was, and the THunderbolt was. The Blue Bullet, Twister, Howler were not working :( BUMMER! But nonetheless, I got some videos going down the slides! I'll post soon!

That's right, through a window. Unfortunately it is mirrored, so the contrast and color of the video filmed through it are poor.

The triangular window can be seen from the waterpark side at 00:57, just right of center.

There is a bed, TV and jacuzzi in that room. :)

That's right. It was changed from a cannon ball jump into 'Tropical Typhoon' a few years ago a.k.a. 'the toilet'. They also changed the Sky Screamer and Nessie's Revenge from white to red and violet. Apparently the idea being to make the slides easier to identify from the entry point at the top and the exit point at the bottom, so this will likely happen with more of them. They also repainted the cabanas and surrounding walls on either side of the deep area of Blue Thunder.

It's a great pool but they don't turn the chlorine levels down when there are less swimmers. Many times people have gotten chemical burns.

This is true, the ramp from the change rooms to the water park can be challenge when it is wet, even when walking slowly.

There are signs posted stating it is against waterpark rules to urinate in the hot tubs or waterslides - the wave pool is not mentioned. This could help you avoid an injury next time. ;)

Best bet if you don't like it too busy, is go on a Tuesday or Wednesday. At 4:09 in the video shows on a Tuesday - lots of space in the wave pool. Only disadvantage is the waterslides are operating on rotation on weekdays, while they operate continuous on weekends. But to be honest, the place is amazing any day of the week!!!
