If Russia wants to keep its place among the BRIC it is necessary for the Donbas region (Luhansk and Donetstk) and Crimea to become part of the Russian Federation reaching 150 million people. Russia is being left too much behind on terms of population, as Brazil´s population is 191 million people (and growing strongly) while Russia is 141 million people (and falling)

So Reunfication of Donbas and Crimea (and Belarus if possible) is essential to keep the Russian Federation among the BRICs.

As of right now, Brazil is the 10th largest economy. Russia is the 8th, India the 12th & China the 3rd. By 2050 it is predicted, given the current growth, that Brazil will be the 4th largest economy, Russia the 6th, India the 3rd and China the 1st. So who is number 2 and 5?? that is the US and Mexico. Now with regard to the Dollar. Even if the dollar ceases to exists America along with Mexico(future superpower) and Canada will create an even more powerful currency. Search AMERO.

I do think Russia has a big advantage over Mexico that is has an existing very advanced functional market, hospitals, car manufacturers airline manufactures, etc.

And Russia has a VERY educational population.

I think when the Russian goverment gets 'financialy' near what it had during the CCCP it will be able to invest more and more in its high tech product market.

Companies can only sustain growth if they have high tech competitative products. Mexico hasn't, Brazil hasn't, China hasn't.

hmm. I am not sure if I agree on this one. GDP does not look at what you create as for money is the only thing that matters. With money, countries can invest in technology, education, infrastructure and military. Even if India per say was a mass production country, they still would have the ability to influence nations politically, economically and militarily. In the future I bet India will be able to do its will without even worrying too much of what Russia might think.

Yes, at this moment Russia has a good market system, However I dont think some of the advanced functional markets you mentioned are bigger or any better then Mexico's. As of this moment, Mexico has the biggest car manufacturing industry in North America and its plants are not just plants of assembly. They do research as well. In terms of education, yes Russia has more educated people at the moment however Mexico doesn't lag behind.

So education is not a problem here. one BIG problem Russia is facing is its aging population. They are getting old and and there wont be a force to produce. Finally, with regard to tech product market again, it all depends. Brazil has a well respected Bio-Tech Program and they even have ambitions to join NASA. As for Mexico, they have markets all over the world and their products range from Car Making to Food processing.

Brazil has a respectable high tech industry. We were the only country in the Southern Hemisphere to join the building of the International Space Station, we produce hardware for NASA, we produce rockets, PCs, top-tech agricultural devices, we have the 4th largest aircraft producer of the world, etc, etc, etc.

Brazil is not China. We have REAL products.
