  • Looks Good ! ! (wink)

  • instead of the broth, can you just use water instead? because i have glazed ham so there's already some seasoning

  • @Halie895 Yes, certainly you can, but you may lose some of the flavor of the soup. Never tried it that way. If you do not want to use chicken broth, then perhaps clear vegetable broth should work. Let me know how it works out for you. If you are putting a lot of the left over ham, then perhaps boil it in the water a few minutes and use the broth from that. :) Either way let me know your results!

  • That's nice.

  • I prefer the Split Pea Soup made with the juice and leftover ham bone than this. The recipe is usually on the side of the bag of split peas.

  • @truebeaut I make my potato soup vegetarian. Just eliminate the meat

  • @IcyKitty Absolutely, I make this soup sometimes without the ham, and I use Vegetable broth instead as well. Thanks again for the great shared idea.

  • simple as that?... wrong choice of words maybe :/

  • @Hananita88 it is easier to put in a can of evaporated milk and a little butter

  • @IcyKitty yes you can use evaporated milk, or just any milk you prefer, it does not need to be half and half. Thanks for the post!

  • @Hananita88 Thanks for your comment, yes it is a simple soup to make and delicious! Hope you give it a try.

  • @truebeaut You can subsitute the ham with either deli chicken, or even can boil chicken breast and cut into small cubes. You can also just not put any meat at all, it still will taste really great. Let me know if you give it a try.
