Just saying, the whole rodeo thing is not completely true. Not ALL rodeos abuse their horses in the gates infact some owners treat them better than kids, those horses are TRAINED to do that. and as far as them jumping over gates? who wants to be trapped in a space that small, my horses try jumping their stalls sometimes, and those are quite large, And i know for a fact they arnt being abused in there. this is just aweful.

The unfortunate truth about the over population of horses rest solely with the irresponsibility of the people who manage the lands these horses roam.The more land that is developed and designated for human use, the less space wild horses and other wild animals have to survive on. These animals are beautiful, and worth so much more than we think. And the inhumanity that people put them through is just mortifying and wrong. There are actually only a few slaughterhouses in the US, but if we all join together and work to our best ability, we can demolish them all. I want to take a stand, immediately. This is frightening.. humans do this to unwanted horses with nowhere else to go. Instead of putting them up for adoption to somebody who would actually care for the horse, the horrid owner sends them off to be slaughtered like some useless garbage. its disgusting! horses are distrustful and skittish creatures by nature. when they become truly hurt and afraid, i have witnessed them to take off at a full gallop when panicked. they buck when they are showing spunkiness/energeticness, naughtiness, or training. with rodeo horses, they are taught to buck through training. because of their usual willingness to enter a bucking chute, one can only assume they do not mind going out and doing their job. if horses do no enjoy what they are doing, they will show it.

it is sooo sad that people kill these beautiful animals, and some people (such as myself) don't even have a horse!!! instead of killing the wild horses, why dont they have something to sell the horses to people that want a horse?! wild horses (or mustangs) make wonderful horses, cheaper too, you don't need horseshoes because their feet are hard and they dont need a blanket cuz they grow long hair in the winter... so yeah, people need to think about that before killing them :(

Just saying, the whole rodeo thing is not completely true. Not ALL rodeos abuse their horses in the gates infact some owners treat them better than kids, those horses are TRAINED to do that. and as far as them jumping over gates? who wants to be trapped in a space that small, my horses try jumping their stalls sometimes, and those are quite large, And i know for a fact they arnt being abused in there. this is just aweful.

These animals are beautiful, and worth so much more than we think. And the inhumanity that people put them through is just mortifying and wrong. There are actually only a few slaughterhouses in the US, but if we all join together and work to our best ability, we can demolish them all. I want to take a stand, immediately. This is frightening.. humans do this to unwanted horses with nowhere else to go. Instead of putting them up for adoption to somebody who would actually care for the horse, the horrid owner sends them off to be slaughtered like some useless garbage. its disgusting! And ya know what, why not at least put the body in an oven? then all you need to worry about are the bones. Put them to sleep as you would your canine friend then have the body put in a burner, least they die with some dignity. horses are distrustful and skittish creatures by nature. when they become truly hurt and afraid, i have witnessed them to take off at a full gallop when panicked. they buck when they are showing spunkiness/energeticness, naughtiness, or training. with rodeo horses, they are taught to buck through training. because of their usual willingness to enter a bucking chute, one can only assume they do not mind going out and doing their job. if horses do no enjoy what they are doing, they will show it.

@ridingrox1 you dumbass. i'm in college. i have been around horses and riding them since before i could walk. along with my mother and a few of her clients (she's a trainer), we have rescued many abused or abandoned horses and helped them find lasting homes, so clearly, i care about horses. there is absolutely nothing wrong with the events in a regular prca regulated rodeo. i have been around rodeo horses, and ridden some of them. they are very calm, and don't act like many of the abused ones

However, I do not believe it is right to condemn rodeos in general as "cruel" or "inhumane" just because of the ones that are illegally promoted. The PRCA has many rules and regulations in place to keep their animal competitors safe and healthy for competition, and these are the rodeos that most families go to see. @CowboyChaser121 actually they shoot the horse first and often he/she doesnt die because whoever is doing the shooting doesnt care about if the horse dies or if it lives when its skinned.its a nightmare for both the horse and all the horse lovers in the world and it has to be stopped. Why on earth are people doing this to the animal that has helped change americas history(and other countries). Without the horse part of americas history is lost. IT MUST BE STOPPED EVERYWHERE!
