Willie was a great young character for the film. Jack doesn't get to interact with kids often enough, but people forget that he is a dad after all, and inasmuch as Kim (that ungrateful brat of a daughter of his) treats him with disdain, he still loves her very much.
Incidentally, I caught that part about the Indian scarf he wanted to give to her if and when he ever saw her again (which as it turns out will happen this season as Cuthbert signed up).
