  • Has anyone else noticed that the jimping on the flipper is on the wrong side?

  • Just got a 550 snag love it.waiting for the 561 to come out. I like tip up but always concerned with frame Lock that it is shipped with tip down and I move it that the adjustment is screwed up.. Just my experience..thanks

  • What does he mean by "slingshot the knife" at 3:36? I've never heard that term before.

  • What's the release date for 0561? can't wait

  • i got to handle this beast at shot show and i have to say ill be picking up two of them

  • this knife is almost exactly the same size as a spyderco endura.

  • @mikelanglii sweeeeeeeet. I might just have to preorder this...

  • That titanium looks great, but would that mess up your pocket when pulling it out or is it smoother than it looks?

  • I love the fact that the 0560 has a titanium pocket clip and that it is a low ride clip. Something about titanium framelocks using steel pocket flips bugs me a little when it comes to high end knives. Love the 0560. I have been thinking about getting an 0301 for a while also, but I'm not a fan of the assisted opening since that's just one more thing that can break and I love to open my knives a lot.

  • @PatagoniaExplorer1 We changed it to a steel pocket clip.

  • @KershawKnivesMike face palm!

  • @KershawKnivesMike JK! I really don't care about the clip material. Not a deal breaker for me. I would like to see a plain titanium side as well though!

  • Your vid is a favorite on Costa Rica

  • @brainbutler220 Who's Costa Rica?

  • oh yea, tip up all the way every day!

  • Hey Mike! Great Video as always, I just subscribed. I love my 0550, and can't wait to get my 0560, see how it compares to the real deal :)

When are the 0560/0561's gonna ship already?!? :)

Thanks man! Keep up the great work!

  • Hey Mike. I just picked up the 550 and I'm loving it. I literally can't wait for the 561. I check the ZT facebook page 5 times a day to see if there are any updates. Question - does the 550 have the same KVT ball bearing system? I couldn't find anything about it on the website - but it feels like it must. Thanks for the videos!

  • How does it hold up to batoning? Any blade play?

  • Don't know about the skeletonized titanium frame lock, seems like it would weaken lock under pressure, have the 550 and a 551, have pried with the 550 while hitting back with hammer, never unlocked, built like a tank, think I would rather deal with the extra weight on the 560-561 and have solid titanium on frame lock.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I want one!

  • Any news for those that pre-ordered the 0560?

  • Hey mike any updates on when 560 and 550 are due for release?

  • @MrRastafarianman 0550s are already out and shipping. Check Kershawguy! 0560s are slated for this month as well!

  • @KershawKnivesMike

what the diffrence between the 560 and 561?

  • @KBar666 560 = black G-10 handle scales. 561 = coyota brown handle scales.

  • Fuck me senseless; I completely forgot about the preorder on these suckers, and here I went and just bought a Strider. Dammit.

  • Hey Mike, can you show us the Kershaw Cryo?

  • @rororo64 Dunno yet, will know by next week sometime. :) I don't have the camera as of yet, away for now.

  • The 0560 is set to come out in December and I heard the 0561 in January.

  • I have an 0350 and it's my EDC blade. I've used it for everything from removing a spent cartridge jammed in an AR's ejection port, to cutting the seal off a whiskey bottle. The edge is still as sharp as ever. performance. So if that's anything to go by, I am definately getting the 0561.

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!! Thanks for posting this.... I currently have the 0300st and 0200st... Looks like my ZT collection will be expanding for sure!!! Really like the coyote brown. When does the Tiger Stripe blade come out and do you have pics/video??? This will be my first ZT with a plain edge. My other plain edge folder is the TOPS/Buck CSAR-T. Any updates on release dates?

  • Man this seems to be pretty much a perfect knife...The knife to end all knives...wow...i must have...

  • how does this steel compare to other higher end steel like S30V and 154CM, etc.? also anytime time frame on when your coming out with a black blade finish? thanks bro

  • I love this knife but it needs to be available in ranger or OD green scales, good serrations like Emerson uses and the low rider clip is almost a deal breaker. Please make a normal carry clip available.

  • Manual opener. That works!

  • Is this A/O?

  • I'm going to get this and MOD IT. solid copper back spacer, mirror polish the blade, lay up a new scale of Lightning Strike carbon fiber, and last and not least, a black paracord lanyard with a Starlingear bead. TIP UP CARRY

  • I am pretty eager to get this. I have a 0551 and love it. I do not quite like the blade shape/length for how I use my knives. Looks the the 0660 should fit the bill nicely.

  • Looks like the pre-order ones have a stone-washed blade? Is this different from the one you are showing? Thanks.

  • Blade thickness?

  • give! i'm so ready for this to be released

  • tip down

  • tip up is definitely my preference. Puts the knife in the hand in a much better position.

  • The 0551 an amazing designed knife and even though the XM-18 is still my favorite the 0551 is a very close second.

  • Can you show us the 0560 also? I'm in a huge dilemma right now.. if I should get the 0560 or the 0561.

    Thank you Mike!

  • @junstar81 Pictures of the 0560 are floating around online and some really good ones were taken by GearScout of Military Times. There's really not anything else different besides the G-10 color.

  • @KershawKnivesMike No need for that anymore... I just pre-ordered both of them. I couldn't make up my mind and just decided to get both. I know I won't regret. lol

    Thanks though Mike!

  • Andrew WK!

  • @LordChrisHimself Yup! ;)

  • Nice review, thanks.

Tip up and I only buy deep carry clipped knives.Though there's minimal restrictions in my area, I don't like walking around town with any part of a knife exposed. This knife has definitely got me interested.

  • I'm currently carrying the 0301 and will pick up a 056x when the tiger stripe/od green g10 version comes out. I still think the 0301 is the best looking knife in the catalog, though it's a boat anchor in the weight department.

  • just so im clear, are these going to be sprint run versions? or is this what the production models will be like?

  • @sasquatch4liffee These will be regular production. :)

  • @KershawKnivesMike Thank you. Excellent looking knives, definitely gonna pick up the coyote brown version. Just need to save up for a bit first

  • @KershawKnivesMike with that being said will you be bringing back the 0550/0551 as a regular product as well?

  • hurry up and release this knife! I can't wait any longer!!!!

  • I went to pre order this knife but I didn't see the variation I wanted. The black scale handle (0560) also comes in a variation with a tiger stripe blade. I would like to see that blade on the earth brown handle. Will that be possible in the near future?

  • this is something I will have to save up for for sure...

any idea on when more colorations and blade coatings will be out? tiger with OD scale would be a total win

and I carry tip up usually but dont have a huge preference

  • @JestingDevil No other scale plans at this time -- Of course, if that changes, I'll let everybody know :)

  • 61 o 60... differences? thx

  • @knivesandstuff 0560 - Black Scale ; 0561 - Coyote Brown Scale

  • @KershawKnivesMike I think these new designes ZT are doing have to the best in the market now. Amazing what you are acheiving in a production environment.

  • Oh man I definitely need to sell off some of my knives to get one of these! Any idea when the "normal production" versions of the 0560 will be out?

  • @themediocrepirate We're shooting for late winter :)

  • Tip up, will not buy a knife that forces me to carry tip down.

  • I prefer tip up

  • Nice blade! I carry my xm18 and xm24 tip up btw ;-)

  • That is a fantastic looking knife.

  • Will this be a "sprint run" like the ZT 551 or just a regular production model?

  • @spydercola Regular production. There will also be regular production for the ZT 0550. :)

  • Why machine the titanium i like titanium plain... But still a awesome knife!

  • @XDHardstylerXD Because more people like it machined. If you like plain titanium -- check out the 0551/0550! :)

  • @KershawKnivesMike I just got the 551 this week amazing knife! I still like this one because its a little closer to the XM 18

  • I'm in for two. This was one of my favorites at Blade and can't wait til they're released. Thanks for posting this

  • Where can i get that knife?

  • @yourtback Pre-orders are available at many distributors.

  • I must have it.

  • No question about it Tip Up 100% of the time. Thanks for the vid I am absolutely pumped about this knife can't wait to get mine.

  • Tip up for me. That why it frustrates me that some really cool knives don't offer tip up carry. I'm ambidextrous and IMO all knives should be 4 way or at least three way carry. I've passed on a few cool Kershaw designs because there was no tip up carry.

  • @iamtorcman Thanks for the input, iamtorcman. We are continually improving our clip designs and carry-ability options. Our three newest USA Kershaw models all offer 3-way carry. All of our new import designs offer 2 - 4-way carry. Another option (which I have done with my JYD's) is get them drilled and tapped for tip-up carry by some modders on forums. :)

  • gorgeous blade...I like this a lot more than the 055x, although I liked it a lot also

  • Thats absolutely awesome! Thanks for the vid, really glad I put a pre-pre-order in on one of these!

  • oh and Tip up, right front pocket for EDCs. Keeps the spine against the pocket seam preventing it from opening as long as the blade tip extends to the pocket clip its basically locked in place.

  • Your very welcome.

  • Tip down so far, since the Kershaws that I have all sit lower when the clip is mounted near the hinge end, and also it seems safer this way because gravity would help to keep the knife closed as opposed to tip-up carry. Cool videos Mike! This is awesome showing potential customers videos of new knives and info about upcoming knives and actually answering questions their questions. I'm sure you have helped Kershaw sell a lot more knives this way. Keep up the great job.

  • @alienguy07 Thank you for the kind words my friend! :)

  • I carry tip up with a lanyard

  • I carry tip up with a lanyard, i think it offers faster deployment. Would love to see that knife with OD scale.

  • Whats the retail going to be on these?

  • @MattGibson96 MAP pricing is set at $260. That's pretty much the lowest you'll find it when it's released to distributors. :)

  • Tip down.

    Is the liner TI too?

  • @bobpoptart Liner is stainless. :)

  • tip up for sure , cool blades btw

  • the brown scale looks really cool, definitely something different. an all titanium version would just be super freaking cool looking. this one is going in my knives to buy bookmark folder.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana All Ti would be prohibitively expensive. G-10 allows for easy color changes / customization. :)

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana I'll be making Ti drop in scales for this knife when it comes out along with various other colors of G10 and Micarta and exotic materials like synthetic ruby, Moonglow, copper and niobium superconductor. They'll be primo scales.

  • will they be making a black handle?

  • @TheBoogymannn Yes! That's the 0560. It's also pictured at the beginning. Rumor has it that Hinderer himself will be offing custom scale colors for this piece too ;)

  • The clip is PURRRFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!! butter smooth opening, you got the retail on this and when is production time?

  • @boravw1 MAP pricing (internet pricing) is set at $260. Production is always a mystery-- possibly end of winter at soonest.

  • @KershawKnivesMike wow, I need one now.... someone should have a modified clip for the skyline, id pay $15 for a "lowrider" style clip for it, its only half the price of the knife itself, I even drawn something out to modify it myself, now i have to find some 440c SS to shape it

  • @boravw1 There's a dude on the forums (forgot his name) who was able to make his existing skyline clip a lowrider using a blowtorch and dremel. :)

  • Very nice. Thanks.

  • IKBS? i thought was the bearing system, you call it KVT?

  • @boravw1 It's very similar to IKBS, but not the same. IKBS has bearings in a channel; KVT uses them in a washer.

  • @KershawKnivesMike Nice, looks smooth regardless

  • @boravw1 It's pretty much the same thing -- just no bearings flying all over the place :)

  • tip down for flippers, tip up rest
