@Bargainking77 well, both times i've posted a video on INN, the servers have crashed, and i'm going to assume it's because it can't handle the large amount of people trying to join all at once :( i'm talking to a few people to see if the server can be boosted somehow

Why don't you call your commentaries "Let's Plays"? It's basically one you're doing, 'cause you're being informative about the game then playing it. Even though they only last 2-4 videos.. Sometimes.

@poornation well, i don't name them let's plays for a few reasons:

1) almost all of them are based off comedy instead of skilled gameplay.

2) none of them ever finish the game, besides exmortis and alive

3) they're not really walkthroughs, it's more like reviews in most cases

4) i'm not an expert at any of them i've done so far

conversely, let's plays are usually done by people w/high skills at the game, they finish it, comedy takes a backseat to information/narration, etc. that's mainly why.

@azuritereaction I consider a let's play a recording of a person showing all their screw ups and it basically being another set of words for a "playthrough," where a walkthrough would be where you don't die, you know what you're doing, and you are informative. Yours seem in between the two but I dunno

@mario11168 i dunno, all the let's plays i've seen have finished the game and always been really informative/familiar with the game, usually showing expert or high level gameplay.

most of the stuff i've seen has been raocow's stuff though as far as let's plays, and deceasedcrab too, so i might be wrong, but yeah.

Shadows of Yserbius and Fates of Twinion were made for Sierra by Joe Ybarra, who later was involved with Age of Empires and Age of Mythology and Stargate Worlds. For Ruins of Cawdor, we took Joe's tools in house and did new artwork and had Richard Aronson do the maps and text of the adventure. Richard is known for various adventure and card games (notably Bridge) at Sierra.

I've always maintained that the best part of these games was the Tavern. I'm convinced the die-hard players spent just as much time with their buds hanging out in the Tavern chatting as they did in the dungeons themselves. One of my favorite stories was about a group of four people down in the dungeons, each paying $3 per hour to play, trading cookie recipies at 3am in the morning.

When AOL purchased INN from AT&T, they were like, "Yeah, we want people to stay on playing as long as we can get them to!" And then when unlimited internet was becoming the norm a little later, they were like, "We don't want people online all the time - we want them on as little as possible!" INN shifted to become WorldPlay, an AOL premium games channel.

@Tylurnol when i record these videos i do it in one "run" most of the time, like all of this was recorded in one 25 minute session. this means that usually if there's quiet/loud audio on one part in the series, it'll be on all of them, unfortunately.

the main problems with my recording setup, is that i have an external microphone built into my camcorder (what i use to record my voice and sync up gameplay with), but it's pointed at the screen, not at my mouth, so sometimes it's quiet. :/

@descendent6667 yep, i'm on windows 7. there's a program that comes with the download called DosBox that emulates DOS (not denial of service, haha) and allows the game to run perfectly on any OS.

@Xtreme2252 yeah, but i like to keep videos less than 10 minutes because the average attention span of a given person is generally only about 5 minutes: i'd do videos that short, but then i'd just be flooding my account with videos, so this is a good balance imo.

too long of a video becomes boring and makes people feel it's droning, so if you do short pieces like this people can come in, watch, and move on with their day without feeling like watching the video was a chore
