@BBAHUNTER With an extremly good driver, and the tires heated perfect on a VERY good day, good track heat and right temp outside, yeah a rwd car can run those times on a dragstrip. Those Vipers have run 10.7s stock which is pretty crazy. But, on the street, you won't touch those times.

The McLaren is a beautiful car but it has no character when it comes to driving it. I want something that I can bang the gears in and fight me as hard as I fight it...You know, a drivers car. This merc is much more expensive and cannot be put to such limit on the track as the vette. Crashing a merc would be a financial pain.

The LS9 is a fantastic engine and the car handles beautifully around light turns and in the straights, but you can see how sloppy and chopped up it is in tight turns like the carousel if you watch...

@BKsMassive keep in mind the GTR is automatic and beats most cars. Nowadays all new cars will be mostly automatic because the age where manual is faster than automatic is over.

This merc is much more expensive and cannot be put to such limit on the track as the vette. Crashing a merc would be a financial pain.
Whereas the vette... Even I, a regular worker could afford another Z06 if I crashed it on the track. Therefore, ppl are flying around the track with this vettes, as they really don't give a damn fuck if they crash it. It's easy to repair a bunch of plastic.

@windflasher0 AHAaHaHahah I had an arguement about this wit a fool a few days ago, the end all be all is that yes, it is faster on the ring, but had to be literally designed from the ground up with performance over price in mind, and ALL the money was dumped into the transmission and suspension... The LS9 is a fantastic engine and the car handles beautifully around light turns and in the straights, but you can see how sloppy and chopped up it is in tight turns like the carousel if you watch...

omg! how can people be so stupid! What the video is showin is d performance of both cars head on why are you guys including how much the cars cost? Only guys that know nothing about cars do that! If u ask me for a race I will rather use d corvette because it handles very well, its torque is amazing and its power as well. Trust me, ave driven both cars. My mate own an SLR and my american mate own a corvette ( am British). I got to use both of em, and if u ask me I prefer the Z06 for just racing

Sure, the SLR retails for around $400k, but its a very rare and special car. If you see someone buying an SLR, you know they are rich or have a taste for prestige. Sure you can make a corvette faster but you see corvettes everywhere, you won't see an SLR everywhere, only once in a blue moon unless you own one.

@jackscagnetty - There's a Plastic surgeon in my area that I happen to do work for who has one. He said he paid 250,000 for his. That sounds less than 400,000 than higher to me. I dont know where you get your sources but I'd love to know. He took me for a ride in it one day, after I was done doing some work for him. He asked me my honest opinion on the car - I told him Doc its beautiful inside in out but its not worth even 250,000 to me. He just chuckled and said to each man there own I guess.
