  • Steven, can you direct the next Bond movie please?

  • I never realised it before, but Steven Spielberg moves in a slightly gay manner..

  • @DemiathDoomhammer Yeah,he does. But does it matter? I think that makes him even more charismatic.

  • @ xgnothixseautonx - Saving Private Ryan is a movie which promotes war mongering? It's hailed as one of the strongest anti-war statements ever made you imbecile.

  • I guess the fact that Sean Connery is a complete misogynistic pig just makes him more virile! I guess.....

  • @ripcalwill how is he misogynistic? because he played bond? or did he do something in real life?

  • Where is Sallah!?!?!?!

  • m2

  • Sean should have a cameo in one of the newer films! That would be awesome!

  • Lucas fucked up but Spielberg is still doing good

  • @Theguitardude30 Meh it just goes to show us that even the best fuck up lol

And yeah he is doing pretty good still, i wish they would make movies tho like they used to make!

  • Spielburg at 2:25: Though we are here tonight to celebrate a career far beyond Bond...

  • lo 1:56 George Lucas reminiscing about India Jones and the Cristal skull

  • @xgnothixseautonx What exactly in Saving Private Ryan promotes warmongering? You mean where an entire squad died just to save one private who was the last surviving son in his family? Yeah, sure makes me want to go to war! Putz.

  • @BloodofPatriots hehe shaving ryans privates

  • @mrlennie Nothing is funny about the name of the movie or what the movie represents. You should be ashamed of typing that.

  • I think that after Connery, Daniel Craig is the best Bond. Everyone else has just either been bad or medium-good. But not great. They haven't had the natural "swagger".

  • @inkkwell - Brosnan wasn't too bad.

  • At the very last second, it almost looked like the very tough Scotsman was about to cry.

  • where does Steven Spielberg come up with these always perfect speeches, i actually have a feeling he might be God!

    What a Legend!

  • Truly a great man of the past 100 years!!

  • Best prepared speech by any film director I have seen !

  • I love how my favorite director of my all time 2 favorite movies would love agent 007 too, just as Indiana Jones.

  • Spielberg and Connery......that's too awesome for 3 minute video.

  • WHOS THE GUY IN THE TURBAN? :)

  • good speech

  • Connery was the best Bond of all time

  • OMG Steven Spielberg is gay ...

    i had no idea ..

  • @sunburningstare I thought he had a wife.

  • Spielberg is my favorite director, along Cecil B. DeMille and John Ford.

  • i wish i could meet and shake the hand of mr connery

  • I didn't read all the posts, but I'm sure all of you know that Spielberg asked the producers on more than one occasion if he could direct a Bond film. Cubby told him that Bond films were "too big a project" for him. I love Cubby but he totally screwed that up. He did show his affection/respect for Steven by using Spielbergs CEOTTK theme in Moonraker and "Jaws" in 2 Bond films.

  • @Bondianwolf I could'nt see him doing it.

  • @58fenix

He has stated publicly he could see himself doing it. So that might throw a wrench into your theory.

  • @Bondianwolf Were did you hear it show me!

  • @58fenix

You're either lazy, stupid or both. Ever heard of Google?

  • @btospnk Hey fuck you!the reason why I ask you

that is because for one what you said is the most

stupidest thing I have ever heard when it comes

to spielberg.Lets just see if this stupid statment

    of yours is true!

  • @58fenix

You can't even cut and paste a link? So it's stupid because it's true?! You got pwned brain-damaged child.

  • @Bondianwolf You got pwned brain damaged

child? You cant even speak english right.I dont

even what to look up that false rumour you said.

Just listen to how you talk. The way you talk proves

    your ridiculous!

  • @58fenix

Did your mom take Thalidomide when she was pregnant with you?

  • @58fenix

    dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1047156/Spielberg-targets-set-Bond-according-Roger-Moore.html

  • i like this guy.. he alwys makes movies look real .. hes are very goog director

  • I see that Spielberg is better at making movies than he is at making speeches!

  • Good old Spielberg, straight from the heart.

  • BRILLIANT COMMENT

'you leave us both shaken and stirred'

...gotta love the classic bond martini :)

great play on that by steven spielberg,

  • Spielberg is a great director but you could tell that if he made a Bond movie, it might revolve around silly gadgets and sci-fi villains but it's just my humble opinion and you really never know. He did films like The Color Purple which aren't typical of him so who knows? The same way that if Martin Scorsese makes a Bond film i picture a scenario where he has to battle the Mafia.

  • @JMBitchboy I would think that Spielberg would do a James Bond more in the light of Shindler's List. Dark and very very realistic to what an undercover agent really is. Same for Munich. That is more to the type of bond film we would see.

  • @ChiefOren And you could revamp the entire Bond franchise, NOT REBOOT since God knows there is too much of that. I heard rumors that Sam Worthington is a planned replacement for Daniel Craig and I think it's gonna be good casting. Or Colin Farrell, because if Steven Spielberg is gonna shoot a gritty version of Bond, we need edgy actors.

  • @JMBitchboy Now I'll have to look up Sam Worthington in IMDB.com. But you are right. A less known Bond but down to the nitty gritty is what we need.

  • @ChiefOren He's the star of Avatar and appeared in the crappy remake of Clash of the Titans. But we need a fresh face and as Daniel Craig ages, the uglier he gets. He's not as good looking as the others so he won't age nicely.

  • @JMBitchboy I dont know were that rumour

came from but it was false.

  • Wow, lovely good speech of Spielberg! After five decades with Bond, I almost got teared my self. Whet red eyed at least ;)

  • *sniff*

  • why does he wiggle his head like that

  • "at one time or another, all of us wanted to be you". TRUE!!!!

  • SC is the MASTER at Bond!,allways has been, allways will be.

  • No, i am the best...i have better boots.

  • his use of the lightning in a bottle was great!

  • God that man is so good with words!

  • @bhrackley yeah it's too bad that George didnt let Steven write the Star Wars Series. imagine how much better it might have been.

  • @LordBicen But the Star Wars movies are great. but if you're talking about the prequels. yes Steven Spielberg should have written them

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater Interesting notion.

  • @inkkwell ?:I?

  • he raaaaaaaped indi!

  • The best Director and The Best Actor, perfect.

  • I always thought that Spielberg should do a Bond film, it would be superb.

  • I agree with you.....that would be something special.

  • He wanted to

  • @Super8StrikesBack Yes since the new bond movies have been terrible they could use that Spileberg magic. Quantum Of Solace was probaly the worst in the series and shows Bond needs some help.

  • What?!The Daniel Craig Bond films were superb!

  • the minus 2 says NO, only the music in QoS made ir a Bond movie. The guy has no charm or humor...George Lazenby was....forgettable.

  • The first showed promise but Quantum of Solace... wasn't a bond film

  • cos a hack made it.

  • @Metssinger302 Yeah- I even liked Quantum as a separate movie- but it wasn't a Bond film. It was less than two hours long, ended after a pretty dull climax, and was just lacking the elements of a Bond film in general.

  • I don't think Casino Royale was bad by any means; it was just a major departure and change for the Bond franchise (understandable, given the success of Bourne etc). QoS, on the other hand, was a disaster ;)

  • @Super8StrikesBack

Spielberg was meant to do For Your Eyes Only but George Lucas offered him to do Raiders of the Lost Ark, which was released at the same year. Let's hope Spielberg will make a Bond movie soon!!

  • @MrBelgiumrulz That is correct :)

  • @Super8StrikesBack Funny thing is, he's pretty much always wanted to.

  • @Super8StrikesBack,

Hell yeah. I love Spielberg alot.

  • @Super8StrikesBack that, sir... was indiana jones

  • Same here!!

  • @Super8StrikesBack Spielberg has stated that his fantasy has always been to direct a James Bond film... but the brocolli's (father and daughter) didn't think he would be the right man for the job. Hence... Indiana Jones.

  • @Super8StrikesBack and then have Harrison Ford as James Bond being brought out of retirement

  • @Super8StrikesBack i think spielberg isnt great at doing british themed projects he was going to make harry potter a cartoon

  • @Super8StrikesBack He did. He even went as far as started writing a script but Lucas convinced him Indiana Jones could be a more original character that envoked the best of what Bond stood for.

  • He was brilliant at it. And that repetitive movie franchise is one of the most successful and diverse in ever created.

  • do you guys know that both bruce lee and steven spielberg are both sagittarians with scorpio moons? creepy they are both that talented.

  • @PanayotiProductions You mean two famous people out of the many thousands have the same birth sign?

Wow, the odds against that must be like..... 1 to 1

  • @verbaluk1 having the same birth sign and moon sign is quite rare odds. prolly 1 in a 1000

  • Somebody needs a good slapping.

  • he says, 7 bond movies, sean was only in six

  • actually it was seven

  • by your reasoning, he wasnt the first bond! the 7th movie is not apart of the bond franchise

  • He actually played Bond in seven films. Number seven was Never say Never Again and came out in 1983. However, it is not part of the James Bond original series.

  • Comment removed

  • fantastic actor and man

  • seab connery rules

  • You're the man now, dog!

  • A befitting tribute from a celebrity director to a celebrity James Bond .......The Original and arguably the best representation of Ian Fleming's character.

Connery's physiognomy had all the masculine shades and confident body language that was required to make this spy character an instant hit in 1962.

  • Sean Connery.

  • GO SEAN!!!!

  • SC 5/5!~

  • one of the best and most fitting tributes i've ever heard - "for at one time or another, you make all of us want to be you." ... even more of a compliment considering it's coming from steven spielberg (who is himself an immense success).

  • @mutts252 indeed an incredible tribute to an incredible man. But if Steven really knew his Bond, he'd know that Bond wears an Omega, not a 'Rolex'

  • @bj2905 I think that in at least one of Ian Flemings books it stated that he wore a Rolex but, you are right, I thought the same thing when I heard that. It should be an Omega.

  • @deedubya286 - No Bond wears a Rolex both in all the books and in all Sean Connery movies. The Omega was introduced (alone with German cars!) with Brosnan and Golden Eye in 1995 - google it!

  • @WillShakespeare2007 I checked and you're right about the Omega starting with Goldeneye. I sure thought that they went back farther than that.

I also found that Roger Moore wore a depressing number of horrible Seiko digital watches that I had somehow managed to forget. Ah, the 70s!

  • @deedubya286 - You're so right and I'd forgotten them too. Wow, the memories come flooding back of how incredibly cool everyone (including me) thought they were and remember showing off as the first kid to get one with a calculator. I am sure I was more Austin Powers than Bond. Roger Moore was my childhood Bond so as an English kid we all worshiped these movies. Remember Bond was about the only British movie hero there was. Makes me laugh to remember the digital watches thank for that.

  • @bj2905 - No Bond wears a Rolex both in all the books and in all Sean Connery movies. The Omega was introduced (alone with German cars!) with Brosnan and Golden Eye in 1995 - google it!

  • @WillShakespeare2007 ... wow. now that is good product placement. Clearly Omega has a good PR/advertising department. thanks for the info dude. Still, personally I think bond looks better in an omega.

  • @bj2905 - I agree as Rolex has become obvious because everyone with enough money wants to copy Bond. Omega seems cooler and more understated. But the reality is that Omega coughed up the big bucks to get Brosnan wearing it and so Bond now wears Omega. Same with Aston Martin, they refused to cough up any cash because they thought they would stick with them anyway so they switched to BMW Z3 for Golden Eye. The Omega is cool but Bond in a German car! Ian Fleming would be turning in his grave!

  • @WillShakespeare2007 ...of course, and then also the Z8 and the 7 series. quite an expensive bit of product placement I would imagine! Admittedly Bond getting some ridiculous drift angles in an M5 would be pretty impressive, but the Bond franchise is clearly designed with an Aston Martin in mind.

  • @bj2905

Omega managed to be almost the only product overtly placed in Casino Royale - and at Rolex's expense:

    VESPER: Rolex?

    BOND: Omega

  • Hahaha, I always get the chills when Sean Connery says " My name is Bond. James Bond." I never realized how hard it was to say it that way until I heard Spielberg's version. I know he was just quoting it in his speech so it has a different tone and all, but golly, just that one line! It's such a simple way to introduce oneself, but Connery managed to make it so much more. THAT'S talent.

  • Speilberg is so much more than the face of Hollywood directors. Just like Connery is so much more than the face of Bond.

  • Yeah...and who are you?

  • Myself. Which is more than enough for me.

  • Good answer

  • Sean connery and Roger moore

will always be legends in my book!
