  • That was cool Exo that part at the end made me go Awww cute little girl

  • @psementalist - We like to teach em while they're young up here :)

  • @EXOcontralto Heck yea they are the BassHeads of the next generation and there is nothing wrong with that .

  • @psementalist - I can see here now rollin' down the block to High School with a set of 12's and a 2k ;P

  • @EXOcontralto Oh yea Go big or go home .. btw I seen something on youtube that looked a little fake to me 35 inch subs ..common wtf

  • Oh cool

  • @allensw74 - Thanks for watching & commenting man!

  • She was like what the hell are u talking about

  • @damianspidell - LOL, she's the cutest little shit! :P

  • Why wouldnt you hide the crossovers behind the kick panels to keep the door pockets useable?

  • @allensw74 - Wouldn't fit.

  • where do you run all the blue wires from?

  • @cornhole0791 - The amp...

  • @EXOcontralto and then to the passive crossovers?

  • @cornhole0791 - Yes, and then to the speakers.

  • @EXOcontralto im honored that you actuallt replied haha

  • @cornhole0791 - No problem man - If you ever have anymore questions - Just post a comment, and I'll reply every morning :)

  • @EXOcontralto good to know

  • lmao 1:57

  • @Skullz747 :D

  • hey exo... i know this is a old video and all.. but whats your take on passive and active crossovers.. i have 3 amps.. 1 for bass 1 for my door speakers and 1 for my tweeters.. i dont use any passive crossovers but what the settings are on my amp.. should i get a passive crossover for the tweets or door speakers?

  • @MrMxAudio - No way, stay active like you are - That's the best way to do it, but the most expensive :)

  • so when the speakers have passive cross overs you dont need a amp to power it?

  • @hulkzoom No you want an amp even more because the passive crossovers take away some power to work.

  • whats the difference between deep cone tweeters and regular tweeters are they better or they put out the same noise?

  • @Dorisequador - Not really sure that you mean by "deep cone tweets" - But the difference between dome tweets and cone tweets are that one is convex, and one is concave. Horn tweets use 2 diaphragms to vibrate air via impedance transformation.

  • @EXOcontralto hey exo, i just got some audiopipe crossovers for my 6x9s and some 4 inch, do u think its safe to run these 2 speakers to the same terminal for mid range on the crossover? thanks

  • @Razon35 - I've seen it done before, but you often times loose output, and always have your crossover lit up like a Christmas tree.

  • @EXOcontralto oh aright,, damn i dreamed i was giving u a demo of my 18 lol except instead of it being in my talon it was in a tahoe? haha

  • @Razon35 - Possible future vehicle!!!? Nice man! :)

  • so when you took off the bracket is the tweeter still on it ?

or did that come off with the bracket

  • @nyylilg53 - It's a push and twist mount

  • how did you route those crossovers to an amp

  • @ImportRunner21 Simply plugged them in... - That's what the main input wire is for...

  • @EXOcontralto ok never ran one before and didnt see you run it thanks

  • Comment removed

  • good to teach em when their young hehe

  • @xianos707 - You know it mang :)

  • If I wanted to run 2 or 3 sets of tweeters could I run all of the tweets for one side off a single crossover or would I need multiple crossovers?

  • what type of calculator did you use to film?

  • @freestyla101 - Texas Instruments TI-86

  • @freestyla101 what type of motive do you use when you steal this blown up troll comment from people.

  • @RedHotFlam3 It provides me with the humor i need to get on with my day. Thank you for your concern. Besides, for all you know i could be the creator of this comment therefore i am not perpetuating it as it is my intellectual property.

  • bostons are good speakers. I picked up a cheap set of lower level boston's a few months ago and they sounded good, until I put them on a 600.4. Lets just say they are toast lol.

  • @stratmemph1 - Damn! But yah, for the most part Boston makes great stuff.

  • @EXOcontralto yeah very sound quality oriented. I have to start experimenting more with new equipment since there are literally no memphis dealers out here in Hawaii and you can't buy it online. Kind of sucks, but I have taken a liking to kenwood and believe it or not phoenix gold has put out some real solid products after being bought out by AAMP.

  • wat subs do you have?

  • @dielan44 - Robbie has 2 PSI 12's

  • @EXOcontralto ah nice, they produce good bass as far as I could hear haha, thanks for the quick reply.

  • @dielan44 - No problem man, but in this video he was running two Type X 12's

  • @EXOcontralto ohhh ok! which would you say are better?

  • @dielan44 - The PSI's by far.

  • did you connect the speaker wire to the cars wiring harness or the head unit wiring harness? does it matter?

  • @emmansk7 We hooked it up to the amplifier because we aren't using the deck to power the speakers.

  • ghetto install haha

  • @chubbyswgates - Hey, we all learn.

  • Bostons are great

  • @ndviper - Yes sir, very nice sounding speakers.

  • where does the main end wire connect to??

  • @filipinokidd386 - The "main in" goes directly into the crossover

  • hey if i have the Clarion EQ746 do i still need crossovers for my mids and tweets? thanks EXO

  • @muscleammo - No, if you decide to go active.

  • exo i have a question, i was going to install tweeters that run of the door speakers but i dont know if i should use a cross over or a capacitor? thanks

  • @BurtonSnow241 - You mean just a Xover? - A sole cap wouldn't do anything here.

  • i bet people that dont know him pick on his van. . . then he drives by and every window they own is shattered. that'll teach you.

  • actually your suppost to test it before you put the door back together

  • Great video, but can you explain to a stereo-noob how "exactly" the wires connect to the speakers? Such as, are there different methods (solder, plugs, etc.) the speaker-wire connects to the audio-components? I'm planning on doing an install and I just need to know what to get for that since I am doing a complete re-wiring job and I have no idea how to attach wire to speakers. Thank you.

  • @lastormtrooper If your doing a complete re wiring, might be better to get someone who knows what they're doing to give you a hand. All cross overs and amps usually have a grub screw style inlet/outlet so its just a matter of inserting the right wires and tightening the screws down. But it can a little confusing if you dont know what your doing.

  • hey, whats the small speaks doing? iam a noob so please dont be mean^^

  • @Fagzor1337 - Tweeters reproduce high range noises

  • "hey guess what?" to the 3 yr old lol!

  • @bonvivant55 - Start em' young :)

  • oooo yea!!

  • """"TWIStA"""

  • So u need crossovers if u want tweeters?

Or else it won't sound nearly as good right?

  • @bballxp001 - You need crossovers when you have tweeters and don't want to spend the money to go "active" - instead of "passive".

  • @bballxp001 i thought i just should elaborate. Active means the tweeters are on a separate channel from the mids, and each channel has a different crossover setting to "filter" out what you dont want each speaker to play. The more channels needed for active often make it cost a decent amount more but you can mix match mids and tweets to suit your needs. Passive is what is in the video.Great vid exo, i remember watching this in my noob days trying to learn, you taught me a bunch.

  • Nice, music dork

  • what was the point of the crossovers?

  • @TheTechGuider filter the highs to tweeters and lows to mids

  • @TheTechGuider limit what each component of the set receives which frequency range. You wouldnt send a 40hz tone through a tweeter would you? Usually the midwoofer output of the passive crossover doesnt let the midwoofer(6.5") play below i think 20hz or so so it plays mid frequencies up to 8000 hz or around that number. The Tweeter(usually 1" dome) output of the passive crossover filters out anything below 4000hz so the tweeter only plays high frequencies.

  • this video was helpful thanks man

  • @eddiegreen209 - No problem, thanks for watching!

  • I love this guys voice haha

  • Everyone says that it is better getting a pair of components rather than rear 6x9s, do decent front component speakers still have the bass of a 6x9, without the need for a sub?

  • 3dgameman used this song in his intros a while back. do you remember the song name?

  • @jsnyara - It's not the same song.

  • @EXOcontralto i think he stole yours :)

  • @jsnyara - Show me a video?

  • @EXOcontralto well. same beat. 3:45 in /watch?v=4BT-GbRBdiQ&feature=channel_video_title

  • @jsnyara - Wow, you're right - It does sound similar.

  • what brand and model was the crossover used in the vid?

  • @T1601624 - 2:29 - Did you watch the video?

  • look up beginnercarmods, they have a really good video on this

  • da first 1 u put

  • yo wats da name of da song?

  • @mateolokon - Which one?

  • @EXOcontralto the 1 he puts wen his ganna test it

  • i watched this video when i first got started on my car audio and now that i know the difference between coaxial and component those sound pretty clean !!!!!!!

  • @allgood0187420 - Thanks for the comment!

  • how are those boston speakers performing?

  • @invizi0n - AMAZINGLY! - Check out my 2nd channel for another complete install with the Boston pro 60se's.

  • can you do that some thing with out the crossover? like run the speaker wire straight to the amp?

  • Good video!

  • So can you wire crossovers with out having a amp? Friend is going to add a sound bar in his Jeep and he keeps reading up people saying you need a amp but I don't see why you could not just run the stock speaker wire to the crossover instead.

  • Do u like subwoofers?

  • should i get tweeters for dubstep, and whats mid drivers do is it important?

  • 3dgameman?

  • You need a window roller removal tool too, if you don't have power windows. Found that out yesterday and had to make a second trip to the parts store.

  • if i get a 4 channel amp powering all my speakers can i just hook tweeters up to the head unit?

  • creep fast

  • exo u should get a car like a civic

  • so, do i need crossovers if i want tweeters in my car?

  • hey...i need help...i got a 2channel amp...and i want the sub to play bass...and the 6x9 to play mids and high..so how do i wire it ? thanks in advanced

  • 98 chevy suburban tahoe or whatever..!? Lol I got a 98 z71 pick up

  • wat are passive crossovers for and how do they work??

  • what are passive crossovers?

  • @FromThe3PointLine they split the frequencies to the different drivers so that they can reproduce the sound more clearly, and mor fit to the designed function of the actual driver's range..

  • @FromThe3PointLine really? Crossovers let frequencies at a certain range play while cutting the rest out. For instance, you don't want tweeters to play anything lower than ~2khertz and the mid woofer to play anything higher than the same range. Sometimes they can be crossed to overlap but it really depends on installation. To put it in a nutshell Speakers of all sizes have a range of frequencies it is suited for. Crossovers help control that dynamic of the sound coming out of the speaker. Easy?

  • Nice work! Provided the info that was needed... Short, simple & VERY detailed. (5 Stars)

  • Prying on the door panel with a screwdriver or pliers is a good way to break retaining clips.

You're supposed to pull the door UP and then towards the back or front of the car, not pull out.

  • @z28roxy absolutely.

  • Song name?

  • @TheCaramelflavour the song at the end is Twista - Creep Fast ft. T-Pain

  • what is a crossover

  • i have this car and i just could not take the door off so i had to use pliers and a dremel to take out the saftey grill and i had to work with the speaker through the bottom of the door. omg soooooo anoying

  • hey i have a question, do you need an amplifier to power up those components?

  • hey exo i got a very big quietion wat is the cross over ued for

  • Hey does anyone know where I can get a pair of tweeter mounting brackets just like the ones in this video? A friend of mine gave me a pair of cerwin vega tweeters, but he lost his brackets and I dont know how else to mount them. Thanks!

  • hey where can i get tweeter mounts just like the ones in this video? A friend of mine gave me 2 cerwin vega tweeters and I have a '98 chevy truck with the same door panels. My only problem is finding another way to mount them. Thanks

  • hey where can i get tweeter mounts just like the ones in this video? A friend of mine gave me 2 cerwin vega tweeters and I have a '98 chevy truck with the same door panels. My only problem is finding another way to mount them. Thanks

  • Haha, what a great vid!! I loved it! =D

  • Man those Boston Pro 60's are the shit. I used them in my burban back in 04 and man do I miss them. I ran them off the stack-able Alpine 150wx4 and they screamed and the clarity was out of this world. But now I am running jl cs-650 6 1/2. I love Boston's sound quality better though. I know you gotta love them. You makin me wanna switch back to them...lol. Nice vid

  • Man youve got a video for everything, your the man Exo!!!

  • I would have put the crossovers under the seat or somewhere more convenient. Also would have had the tweeters flush with the door. Over all good video.

  • lol hey guess what......hahaha that was awsome exo loveing the comedy

  • @MrRemixme - Thanks, You know it man :P

  • i love how people take crappy cars and put nice speakers in, instead of making the car look nice with the money.

  • @KonnerKoonz - That's the story of my life - I love having a sleeper :)

  • @EXOcontralto yeah my car is kind of a sleeper to. I have a 2000 Mazda 626 and have a complete system and a viper 5901 alarm. Tinted windows is the only thing that isn't stock that is visible from the outside.

  • @KonnerKoonz Because when you have nice speakers you can enjoy that for yourself. Making the car look nice does nothing for you while you are in it :p

  • @KonnerKoonz

maybe they just want a nice soundsystem and don't give a shit about the car.

bonus is that it doesn't attract thieves because they assume you have a shitty deck and woofers (unless you're blasting subs in the parking lot)

  • @KonnerKoonz when the car is wrecked/broke down or totaled the audio system can be removed and added to the next car, but you cant do that with a painjob/dent repair or whatever

  • @KonnerKoonz I'd take high sound quality over "looking nice" any day lol

  • @MiLkMaN316 that makes no sence

  • @KonnerKoonz yea well not everybody has enough money to get a fancy expensive car but does have enough money to some nice speakers so... :)

  • @potrebnifukec its called saving up dumbass

  • @KonnerKoonz i know that. and you really don't have to call people that you don't know a dumbass

  • @KonnerKoonz cause if you buy a nice car and fill it with speakers youre just gonna rip it apart so mught as well go ahead and get a not so nice car

  • Hey guess what?

I got one whole door completed!

  • the other twister song is TWISTA I AIN'T THAT NIGGA

  • I have an issue i wired my tweeters directly to my amplifier ,i am using an active crossover set up ,. only issue is at high volumes my tweeter is loud and plays with no distortion at all ,.. but the vocals sound low everything else sounds fine but the vocals ..i played with the head units equalizer and i have also adjusted the crossovers , changed out rca cables , used a cd instead of the ipod connection ,changed tweeters .. but to no avail i end up with the same results wtf am i doing wrong :(

  • this passive crossover things are new to me, ive been out the game for awhile but i got 4 way kicker 6x9 s in da back, should i put some passive crossovers on them?? trying to understand thanks

  • hey man i got a question... what if i got a car that has all this stuff but not wired up at all i dont have the crossover and dont have a stereo either but i got some pretty cool speakers and 2 tweeters that ima put on the back of the car. Would this be the same process or is it a little different?

  • im still lost. so do i run my crossovers into an amp or can i just attach the cross overs to the normal speaker cables. may sound like a stupid question but i dont know much about car audio :)

  • Hey exo I'm getting me some of those pro 60s hope they sound good!

  • what kind of crossover is that

  • WHATS THE SONG AT THE END?

  • @fcporto7portugal Twista - Creep Fast ft T-Pain, Tech N9ne and 2pac

  • but question i thought that the amp as a cross over in it 2?

  • Great Vid man :)

  • Is that freakin foot steps or stomping at the end of the video. :)

  • How much did all that go for?

  • hey i have a quick question, i was gonna buy them pro series speakers, and i noticed that they were 3 ohms...will they be ok with my aftermarket head unit...its a pioneer avic z120 and i was thinking about getting a amp for all the mids and highs that will be pro series...is it better to get a 2ohm or 4 ohm amp?? thanks, great videos man!!!

  • were is the main wire from

  • hey wats the song on 2:51 ??

  • hey exo does robby have any videos of his install
