first of all... it will take 50,000 years for light from the center of the galaxy to get here. Nothing travels faster than light. So how can scientist all of a sudden see stars change from yellow dwarf to red dwarfs? And if they did see that, then it means it will be 50,000 years from now before that wave or whatever will reach us. Whenever we look into space, we are looking in the past. So whatever we look at is not was is currently going on in that moment.
