@Ramanujan88 I`m guessin` Kipling`s work since Kaa`s hypnosis is portrayed differently ( naturally as the " psychadelic eyes effect " would be almost impossible to recreate on stage ) though the human characters seem to have been cast based on resemblance to the Disney characters .

@Ramanujan88 I find this version of the hypnosis scene with Kaa`s swaying movements ( as deliberately exaggerated as they are ) and Mowgli`s dull , sleepy eyes much more realistic . Infact for some people , the swaying movements of a snake are hypnotic .
