  • This is pathetic. Why would they let that idiot Gravel associate with the Libertarian party?

"We all know that money in politics is what corrupts politics" Uh, no. Its the other way around Congressman! Politics in money is what corrupts money.

Just goes to show you how bad a political organization can get without a proper philosophical basis - and just a dogmatic "love for liberty" instead.

Gravel is a liberal idiot and the Libertarians deserve what they get with him.

  • Gravel is a legend, you don't know jack.

  • I really don't know what is going through these people's heads. I ran into a few people like this at the convention. And below there's a guy saying the NI4D is statist. The problem is a lot more than ignorance. I think these people are perpetually stuck in a protest mode, so even the concept of direct democracy is quite frightening as it would mean accountability for their own actions. Perpetual injustice is their comfort zone--that is the (big-L) Libertarian way.

  • The Ethics of Liberty

Chapter 22: The Nature of the State

    youtube watch?v=jFkrp8Dpho8

Why Gravel's NI4D is not Libertarian but Statist. Listen and you will see why the mob rule Gravel suggest is not liberty minded.

  • good god that man said reagen does he not remember that he was the demon that put bush sr as his vice president the devil who walks the earth geez not very libertarian to honor the man that turned the emerial presidency into a virtual monarchy

  • The sad part of your comment is that you blame Reagan for the Bush disaster. There was a time when vice presidents just weren't presidents after that... and Reagan was definitely running against Bush.

  • Regan was still a big government Republican. War on drugs anyone? He used the Government to dictate morality, and push a pro-interventionist military presence. Reagan was the man that suggested drug testing. Reagan assaulted individual liberty.

  • Gravels finished! The LP could have gotten a better candidate than Barr but I am very glad...Mike did not get it! He is no Libertarian and he is a socialist and a globalist to boot!

  • Two words: Patriot Act.

Barr signed it. Now he claims to be against it.

  • Make no mistake about it...I am a die hard Libertarian and have been for 25 years...until last year when I registered Republican so I could vote for Ron Paul! I never said I was a Barr supporter and feel there were better choices! Maybe he has seen the light??? I understand that Barr also voted for this idiotic war in Iraq and has also voted to continue this idiotic war on drugs!!! (I am very anti-drug! but very pro choice!) My God...how long is this BULLSHIT going to continue?

  • Thx for posting this video glad I didnt miss it. Gravel seems like the only libertarian up there that could handle a debate with the top tier candidates.

  • Gravel won this debate hands down. I would've been more amused by buckets of piss with name tags than these four clowns Mike had to debate.

  • Ughh, Root means well, but his demeanor is very abrasive. He just comes off as obnoxious to me. On the other hand, while they may have differing policies, a Gravel/Barr ticket seems like the wisest choice. They've both made names for themselves in politics and they have more rounded-out perspectives on the issues.

  • gravel's libertarian in name only. He doesn't even want to get rid of the department of education. He's also for socialized medicine and who knows what else. Barr seems ok but he always gives the most ambiguous answers to questions about policy. I saw him on the Glenn Beck show and he basically just wasted all of that tv time without really talking about any issues. I'm more hopeful about the so called Ron Paul Republicans running for congress who actually have chance of winning.

  • I agree that on the surface Mike's health plan looks bad but when I dug deeper it's really good for those who want it.

I plan on writing in Ron Paul but if RP goes awy for any reason, Mike Gravel can lead me anywhere he wants. He's by far the most principled and PROPERLY experienced and I doubted it before, but now I'm sure, he's more Libertarian than the rest.

  • Hey ASSHOLE, DO YOU CARE ABOUT THE TROOPS, HOW ABOUT ENDING THE WAR. WHY IS THAT NOT YOUR FIRST PRIORITY, YOU SELFISH SON OF BITCH. WHY DONT YOU TAKE THIS MEMORIAL DAY TO REFLECT ON HOW MANY LIVES HAVE BEEN LOST OR DESTORYED BECAUSE THIS GOD DAMN WAR. GRAVEL SAVED LIVES BY ENDING THE DRAFT. FUCK YOU AND YOU GOT DAMN PHONY ASS DEFINITIONS OF WHAT YOU THINK A LIBERTARIAN IS. YOU ARE A PUNK.

  • You are one of the most insane nazis on this board along with slayer, Barr, and Root.

    andrewl105 = NAZI

  • How do feel about Barr voting for the patriot act to take away your freedoms, IDIOT. How do you feel about Barr voting for Homeland Security, the biggest and intrusive expansion of big govt there ever was. How do YOU FEEL ABOUT BARR VOTING FOR THE IRAQ WAR, WHICH HAS LEAD TO MILLIONS OF DEATHS. Barr is not ok, he is NAZI. Gravel was a libertarian long before the party existed. If it hadnt been for Gravel filabuster exposing the vietnam corruption and ended the draft, your ass would be in Iraq.

  • Bob Barr was the one that eat the cheese made but Borats mothers titt in the moive...I just saw that it was pretty funny

  • I'D LOVE TO SEE A BARR/ROOT TICKET '08!

  • A pure NAZI TICKET HUH

  • I'D LOVE TO SEE A BARR/ROOT '08 TICKET!

  • That is just dumb

  • thank you reason

  • Very good... thanks for posting!
