  • No dites moi? WHAT IS THIS

  • I got to see kelli at a Concert in Kansas. She was so outgoing and so talented!!!

  • She looks like Kirsten Dunst here 3:05

  • i love this show! i'm sad they didn't have "wash that man right outta my hair" in here, it's my fav

  • I saw this cast!

  • These songs are chilling. What a truly magical and touching show.

  • I see Zachary James, whos now starring in the Addams family as Lurch :D

  • @faggyboy2 OMG, where? I looked for him, but couldn't find him.

  • I just noticed that the guy who plays Lt. Joe Cable in the PBS airing is one of the sailors in this Tony Performance. He must have been promoted when Matthew Morrison left the show.

  • @bushka99 thats what i thought too!

  • I saw this show on my birthday, it was great!

  • I just saw this on PBS ---FABULOUS!! is the word!-- Thanks for this blast from the past-- I wasn't aware of this revival back in the day [I know it's only 2008] Fantastic!!!!

  • imagine wearing blue jeans in French Polynesia...

  • She was born for this role!!!

  • this ending made me smile

  • The man that plays Lurch in The Addams Family was a sailor in the Nothing Like A Dame. I think he's the one in the rolled up pants and he's obviously tall.

  • And shows like this are very demanding. Sometimes you only have seconds to get from one side of the stage to the other and someone helping you change costume while you're RUNNING. The pace of these shows are FAST. I love the classics like this.

  • i like my cast better when i saw it......

  • I LOVE how old-school, classic, and authentic this is :)

  • i saw this in august with laura osnes. i LOVE LOVE LOVE laura, but i seriously adore kelly's voice! it's so...classic. haha, i can't explain it. but don't get me wrong, laura is amazing too!

  • Saw this show today with my school!!!! It was amazing!!!!

  • i saw this cast, this show yesterday, it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooood

  • I saw this show on Broadway on New Years Eve.

    The whole cast was... SPECTACULAR!

My wife dragged me in.. kicking and screaming, I walked out going WOW!!!

  • Better than Band of Brothers? I just saw the latest show at lightsnightstvshows (.) com

  • Kelly O'Hara looks EXACTLY like my best friend... It's actually kind of creepy.

  • David Pittsinger did a MUCH better performance as Emile de Becque in my opinion!

  • @zazmerchick182 Paul Pzot was perfect

  • soooo good :)

  • I SAW THIS CAST!

  • i did this show in november and i was emile.. it was probably the best show ive ever done

  • I saw you do it ^.^

    I think.

  • at HTHS?

  • @settle238 Yeah.

  • yep that was me!

  • Kelly O' hara is so GOOD... I love this movie/ musical...

  • just saw it in here in Dallas, it was AMAZING!

  • Great Show!!

  • Im auditioning for my high school's production in a couple weeks!

  • @Nintendorkkarman we just did it and i was emilie... it was WONDERFUL!!!

  • This was spot-on on Broadway last month. Fantastic! <3 Paulo Szot!

  • she reminds me of mary martin

do i smell sound of music revival perhaps??????

  • She DOES look like Mary Martin! (But I don't know whether even Mary Martin could turn two perfect cartwheels. ;-)

  • well, Mary Martin could FLY,...I'll bet she'd not shy away from a cartwheel or two.

Saw this prod, was wonderful, even went backstage & met Paulo Szot in his dressing room, I'm sure he doesn't recall. Kelli was far better than I expected, I loved her by intermission. She also appeared a bit too pregnant as I saw this about a year ago.

  • i just saw this the other night and it was AMAZING beyond words! i met Kelli after the show and she was so sweet. definitely worth seeing agian

  • And not a one of them wants a Dame hehe

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!

  • Thanks for posting this! Though I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get to see Cable or Bloody Mary, but alas, they can't fit everyone in.

  • she sort of looks sort of like doris day

  • the guy singing at 1:19 reminds me of bert lahr so, so much!

  • I think the guy on the right is cuter..lol

  • Just saw SP last weekend in NYC. We all thought the girl singing during Kelli's maternity leave was amazing - she had such a great way of seeming to have a beautiful laughter in her voice while talking/singing. I think - just my opinion- that she is better!

  • Was that Laura Osnes?

  • There Is Nothing Like A Dame is sung amazingly! That ending is just brilliant.

  • Yay Kelli O'Hara:)

  • oh what wonderful actors !

  • i saw this play. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

  • she says in not as

  • She did not mess up the lyrics. They had to edit the song to fit the Tony performance, so she only sang the first and last version of the chorus, and none of the verses in between.

  • I'm only going to say this one more time. She did NOT "mess up". That implies she made a mistake. She did not make a mistake. The lyrics were edited to fit the framework of the Tony performance. The lyrics were altered specifically and only for the Tony show.

So while what she sang at the Tonys was different than what she sings in regular performance, she did not mess up!

  • @humbugfoto1 These people are PROS. They rarely, if ever, mess up anything. It's like saying that you forgot how to brush your teeth. That's how good they are at what they do.

  • your right

  • @roccoh21 yes you did -- i was there when Richard and Oscar composed it!!

  • @cathode1990 And I'm the Shah of Iran.

  • @ChantezDeLaPaix04 They always change things to fit the tonys!!!!! I'm sure they know what they are doing just alittle more than you do!

  • Haha, Sorry theblacksmith7, this was musical theatre back in its heyday. This is a classic and will never go out of style. Don't get me wrong, I love Beauty and the Beast and all those other musicals you mentioned but really have SOME respect for the classics. They show us what Broadway once was and what it still should be.

  • I've seen in on Broadway too! The music was terrific!!:)

  • i saw this on broadway it was awesome

  • im playing this in orchestra now, not that hard, just counting is HARD..

AND IT'S ONE OF THE BEST PIECES OF MUSIC!!! EVER! especaily the play... very addicitng

  • andrea, im 15 and just starting to get obsessed. haha.

  • She's as WHAT as Kansas in august???

  • Corny. Kansas grows a lot of corn. In August there are corn fields as far as you can see. Kind of like Iowa, but "Kansas" scans better than "Iowa".

  • oh. hahaha, my mistake. I thought she said horny instead :P my bad

  • lol!

  • I hear that every time, don't worry.

  • @craaazybob hahaaaaa.

  • @craaazybob Haha, I know what you mean. If I didn't know the lyrics, I would know thought she said, "horny" as well.

  • Corny you pervert. Seriously stop ruining this video for all the people that actually want to listen to the magical and touching musical.

  • i love how they have to break away so fast after the kiss so she can sing Wonderful Guy

  • i just say this play

  • was it good?

  • it was outstanding! i saw it on april 7th

  • Love it!

  • Kelli O'Hara is the first Nellie I've actually been able to enjoy!

  • when she sings at the end, how happy she is and the jumping up and down reminds me of myself

  • I can't believe Kelli O'Hara didn't win the Tony for this. She was absolutely delightful.

  • Really. better than Patti LuPone? 'cause Patti can walk over Kelli's ass any day!

  • Paige O'hara!!!

  • well i think she was wonderful but i think patti was a shoe in for the tony. but this won best revival i think :P

  • no way! i think laura onses (however you spell it) was outstanding she is the best nell9e

  • She was my absolute favorite. Fortunately she is now a mommy, and after seeing her after a different show I know she will be absolutely wonderful.

  • Kelli O'Hara really is amazing.

And so is Paulo Szot. I'm from Brazil too and it meant so much to me that he won the Tony.

  • Totally!

I was so happy when he apperared in Veja!

  • It is beautiful & not to be missed, but Kelli has left to have a baby. Laura Osnes takes over the role this week.

  • It is fabulous, but Kelli has left--Laura Osnes is taking over the role while Kelli has a baby!!

  • Kelli O'Hara is the most amazing!!!! I'm going to see this musical in 10 days!

  • Connie & CARLAAAAAA! <333333 Look it up! :)

  • I attended this show on Jan 31 in NYC. Great, great, great production!!!!!!!!

  • what's the song after some enchanted evening called?

  • "A Wonderful Guy"

  • thanks...it's a great song!

  • Kelli O'Hara!!! I love you!

  • This musical is AMAZING!

  • I must see this musical before I die...

  • Does anybody know the names of the actor and actress in "Some Enchanted Evening"? They both have great voices, I'd like to youtube stalk them lol :)

  • well i know the guy is paulo szot, can't help you with the girl

  • hey thanks for replying, I found out the girl's name is Kelli O'Hara, let the stalking begin... ;)

  • my school is doing this for our school play this year....it looks like a good show =]

  • I just saw this new years day. It was fantastic!

  • that was a great musical

  • the guys are hot

  • this was a good musical

but i was so sad at the end

  • best musical ever...period..

  • I also saw it at the lincoln centre- the very side of the back row of the Gods though, but it was still amazing

  • I love how they play Hey There when Harry comes on. He was so good.

  • Still can't believe they left out the show's most famous tune "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right out of My Hair..."

  • first of all. "wash that man right out of my hair" wasnt there most famous tune. it was either "bali hai" or "one enchanted evening". second of all, it doesn't have to be the most famous tune.

  • First of all, you only use "of all" on the first point.

    Second, it's "Some Enchanted Evening".

Third, it's "their most famous tune" not "there most famous tune".

At least be correct in your corrections.

  • I saw this last night at Lincoln Center in NYC. Amazing Kelly & Paulo stole the show.

  • my school is doing this play . i auditioned and got a callback for nellie! the callback didnt go so well..the cast list will be posted tomorrow. i was watching this and crying because i know i could be nellie ! really well! wish me luck .(: great show . such great talent.

  • how did it go?

  • ooh, good luck! i hope you get it!! *thumbs up*

  • thanks guys! i didn't get nellie; i got cora macrae? i dont really know what she is.. but she's a nurse .. and she's chorus. its not what i wanted, but HEY! i got in (: thanks for your support!

  • I am so envious of Paulo Szot's high E.

  • join the club!

  • Paulo Szot and Kelli O'Hara are absolutely fantastic!

  • What a brilliant performance

  • Perfect voices!

  • the way kelly was dancing around with the hat reminds me of Gwen Verndon on Damn Yankees

  • Kelli O'Hara's voice is flawless...it's studio quality. She sounds impeccable.

  • kelli o'hara is amazing

  • I love Danny Burstein!! I saw him as Aldolpho...so great.

  • South Pacific is a nice show, although like most R&H musicals I do have a problem with their ability to take dark material and turn it light to appease the audience of their day- OKLAHOMA! doesn't hold a candle to its source material GREEN GROWS THE LILACS, and this is my 2nd fav of theirs (first being Carousel, thank god they didnt take away LILIOM'S darkness), but this revival rly didnt add anything new, I thought SITPWG rev was far more revolutionary and well crafted.

  • A Revival of a Broadway Show that premiered 60Years ago.....WOW! and it will go on and on long after Hard Rock etc. is long forgotten!

  • harry c jr. looks like an astronaut

  • now THAT people, is real musical theatre

  • yeah it's a shame that ppl aren't writing musicals like THIS anymore. Ppl think that shows like Wicked and Mamma Mia are real theater....so sad.

however, i think that there is a lot of hope with "Ever After" that's coming to B'way next year. Somebody in the creative team said that it will have a very Lerner and Loewe feel to it.

I hope that more R&H shows are revived sometime soon.

    Sierra Boggess in Carousel, anybody?

  • Well, I like shows like Wicked and Mamma Mia, but I couldn't agree more with you. Those shows are funny, but shows like South Pacific, My Fair Lady, and others are masterpieces and I hope when people say that shows like Legally Blonde are better than a show like South Pacific or Gypsy (And i Loveee Legally Blonde).

  • seriously,, wicked and mama mia are also musicals... I mean differnt types of musicals but still singing and acting on stage so I think its degrading to say they are not. Proffesionals would not say such preposterous things... sorry

  • yes, you should be sorry. i'm entitled to my opinion.

I was trying to say that it's sad how ppl think that shows like Mamma Mia and Wicked are better than the FREAKIN' CLASSICS.

Oh, and I can promise you that other professionals feel the same way as I do about it.

  • wow that one guy looked like the lion in wizard of oz, was he?

  • Love when they pull out the classics!

  • Kelli O'Hara is the perfect ingenue!

I love how they showed Daniel Radcliffe's reaction for some reason!

  • WOW. If they remake The Wizard of Oz, Danny Burstein HAS to be the Cowardly Lion. Look at 1:12. I can already see the tail!

  • haha! that comment just made my day!

  • lol xD yeah

  • Oh my god! You are soo right. LION!

  • I was about to put the comment that Danny looks SO much like Bert Lahr!!!!

  • although Paulo has an incredible voice, I still think that Sunday in the Park was robbed. This show has always been well-loved, and yet Sunday in the Park only just started to be understood at least a decade after it was released.

    :(

  • We must remember, that although Kelli is a beautiful singer, Patti won the award not only for her singing, but for "Best Leading ACTRESS in a musical." - Actress. Patti is an inspiring gem in every way.

  • ...Kelli acts the hell out of her role...the whole opening scene is a MARVEL--her chemistry with her costar and her reactions while he sings make the whole thing believable. This whole production is just beyond words.

I love Patti, and thought it was a toss up. I'm guessing people who say that Kelli is a good "singer" and that's it haven't seen South Pacific.

  • Patti's also a LOT older than Kelli, and Kelli has years ahead of her.

  • yea kelli is good but patti is just a goddess...

  • This show looks super amazing. I really want to see it. And Kelli and Paulo are great. And I saw Danny in the Drowsy Chaperone, and he's just hilarious. However, Patti LuPone definitely deserved that award. I saw her in Gypsy and I was in tears by the end. Patti is the most fabulous actress ever.

  • Patti's also a LOT older than Kelli, and Kelli has years ahead of her.

  • Hey there! I'm a huge fan of Kelli's -think she's an amazing actress with the voice of an angel...but does anyone else think she's slightly nervous in this performance?

  • Kelli O'Hara should have gotten the award! Patti Lupone is good, but Kelli O'Hara is AMAZING! I've never heard a prettier voice. Seeing her live was absolutley amazing!!!!!!

  • YAY KELLI! She graduated from my College! Hopefully I will be the next her! GO OCU!

  • Kelli is such a powerhouse in this role. I couldn't imagine a better Nellie. I thought it was adorable that Harry Connick, Jr. introduced her. They made awesome costars back in The Pajama Game.

  • Kelli O'Hara was robbed! She deserved the Tony.

  • PATTI IS AMAZING. and so is Kelli. They should have tied.

  • she would have won, but she was up against patti lupone so....

  • Hi Bunnyslippers48--love that name!

You are right, I agree. I saw Patti Lupone in a play a few years ago, and she was great!

  • Thanx!

Do you know the name of the other girl that won for Gypsy?

  • No. but it is on "lovey718"'s channel.

  • Her name's Laura Benanti.

  • lol i love this musical i agree the harmony at the end of Nothing like a dame is probably the most amazing harmony i have ever heard i was watching it and it came like that and i was like WOW!!! such a good musical

  • This is amazing, but I think that they should have done "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair" too!

  • Can I be the first to say that the harmony at the end of "There is Nothin' Like A Dame" is amazing.
